  1. Double-Post: Wooo So! If you are reinstalling or are a first time user downloading Renegade X you have two options when installing. A) The hassle-free way. Install Renegade X into a custom directory, instead of the default "C:\Program Files (x86)\", Example: Installing Renegade X into "A:\Retro\Renegade X" And your hassle-free result should appear as below: Or... B) Install Renegade X into the default directory. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X" Go into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Launcher" directory. Right-Click on 'Renegade X Launcher.exe' [See below] After you tick the box for "Run this program as an administrator" click 'Apply', then click "OK". Double-click Renegade X Launcher.exe You should be good to go. Enjoy.
  2. Maybe the prompt should just be "Cannot start launcher without 'Run this program as an administrator' enabled in 'Properties > Compatibility'" instead? Pretty sure this can be avoided if Renegade X isn't installed in the primary Program Files (x86) directory. Makes sense as to why some people get this and some people do not get this. Edit: Yepp. I was right.
  3. As in not the accuracy, just the damage, because the gun loses firepower when its not steadied properly... I actually like Jeff's idea more, raise headshot damage on ALL other weapons so we can all feel like shotgun-snipers.

And this is why I have 'Run this program as an administrator' ticked under the 'Compatibility' tab in 'Renegade X Launcher.exe' properties.

I followed the minimap tutorial exactly yet still end up with the texture flickering when viewing in the editor: @kenz3001 [EDIT: Minimap is fine when the game is loaded, just in the SDK does it flicker and f'up] Aside from that kink which needs to be worked out... Frostbite F2 [Download Here] Changes: -Hand of Nod has been moved to where the Airstrip Tower was -Airstrip Tower moved near the head of the Airstrip runway -You can no longer beacon any two buildings anymore -Ice cave now has two entrances/exits for both teams -Endgame Cam remastered -Minimap is 99% accurate [Hard to tell 100% due to the flickering bullshit] -Frostbite is almost almost almost complete ToDo: -Create loading screen -Fix minimap flickering (Maybe @Ruud033 has some advice?) -Possible optimization required ToMaybeDo: -Fix texture component line issue. [This may actually just require a new release of the SDK? idk. Maybe someone with some materials editor knowledge could help me out on this one? Where they occur don't ruin the map in the grand scheme of things]
  11. If a spy could temporarily disable a building for some amount of time (1 minute 30 seconds for example) that'd be handy. Something which allows them to hack the Master Control Terminal in order to disable the building would probably be best. To show this in the UI a building icon would flash Yellow. Note: Disable NOT destroy.
  12. You can also fool enemies by standing in the shadow of the rock by the strip tower on Under and they'll run right pass you, even though you're a Hotwire.
  13. Their gun doesn't have a scope, so clearly they are balanced out. What if a sniper rifle couldn't one-headshot-kill when not scoped? Cause, y'know, that'd be super easy to thread into the code, right?
  14. To make setting teams easier consider who should not be on the same team. Example: Should Jeff, Yosh, B0ng, Quincy and Minji ever be on the same team? Hell-fricken-NO.

  16. They are in quite a few places where it probably wouldn't be a good idea to place rocks. Those spots specifically probably will get that treatment. However I can't put rocks all the way along here...

Also when I was in high school I did Product Design [By accident] and came up with the idea to make a C&C 40k style table-top, your 3D printing is pretty much what I envisioned back when I was a kid. As it stands, take the 3D printed pieces and apply them to the board game Risk. Would be awesome. Right now by brain is already trying to create a ruleset of how a player would use all the building and unit pieces in a game of Risk. Edit: After reading the thread fully I see that the aforementioned tripe I put is pretty much what's been referred to by you already. All the best in your endeavors there, beware of the EA dream-killing machine. Managed to get anywhere with the Temple of Nod?

  19. Get some Empire Mod tech-trees going with Commander mod. Yeeeeaaaaaaaa But in all seriousness, upgrades for the passenger would be nice. I want to be able to do drivebys with Buggys/Humvees and APCs. (and maybe also transport helicopters)
  20. When the winning team begins to steamroll the base into oblivion the losing team will still take away the wonderful feeling of destruction away from the winning team, no matter which game-mode. In any case, there was that one time on Islands where GDI could have beaten our glorious Brotherhood of Nod had they had a minute longer to kill our Hand of Nod thus voiding our points victory. I swear I could hear a chorus of "Bullshit" coming from the above TeamSpeak channel.

Experimental Tech Upgrades: GDI - Jumpjet (nightmare for mappers), Field Medic & Discthrower [If not Jumpjet then GhoststalkerOn second thought, just have the Jumpjet] Nod - Cyborg (nightmare for mammys), Mutant Hijacker & Cyborg-Commando Not entirely sure which team would prevail but when I followed the Reborn mod the models used in Reborn are toned down from high-poly models, they might share? It'd be nice, would probably be better as a mutator instead of permanently in the gamemode.

  23. If you remove the stairs from the buildings I'd advise you to move the airstrip tower a little bit further away from the infantry hill, it's possible to leap onto the roof of the airstrip tower from the side.
  24. Having to go all the way back to base for a refill, seems a bit much. Disabling their stealth ability for 30-45 seconds would probably be better.
  25. Might be a good idea to have the custom skins as a togglable option in the games settings. [For the players who can't appreciate good skins or just want the 'original' skins only] Personally, I love the new skins as they look well made and appear quite close to the concept art of the original C&C games. If the free infantry could get the same treatment that'd be swell!
