  1. He could have a belt of grenades, grenedier too, but McFarland's are shrapnel.
  2. Units that potentially explode upon death is always satisfying to see.
  3. Frostbite is now done, first game played for this Saturday's PUG should be Frostbite. Speak to some of you on Monday, see the rest of you at the PUG on the 24th September. [Possibly] Much appreciated. Edit: There is an installation readme inside the .rar file, but there is an easier way around this. Test server has been updated with the new map.
  4. Changes as of 16th Sept: Frosty peak has been reallocated and redesigned Upper sidepath has been redesigned to home reallocated peak Bunker on sidepath has been refitted Minimap redone to coincide with map design changes As far as map design goes Frostbite is officially done. Loading screen notwithstanding, Frostbite is done. See release thread for download details: Testing would be much appreciated for any kinks in the map. A big playtest would be greatly appreciated to better test the map for play-through modifications. See you all on Monday, off to Scotland now.

    What's the minimum resolution?
  6. Tiberium infused missiles for Nod. Blue tiberium. Tiberium infused soldiers.
  7. Chem troopers and flame troopers are badass and are legendary spray and prays. In original Ren (campaign) they had back cannisters, ideally make them a compact size so their back has to be facing you to kill them faster. This also introduces explosive kill if you attack the cannister directly which could harm every other infantry, minimal on other flames/chems depending. Vehicles crushing them would also take damage. Cannister explosions shouldn't harm buildings in any way. Or if they do its very minimal. This way they can be a bit tougher on the body but this means a chem rush isn't a cheap rush that's full proof and there's still a penalty. Original Ren seemed unable to do this, RenX should.
  8. See release thread, all aforementioned issues fixed. Very little left to do.
  9. Basically the sniper rifle gets a minor spread when not in scope/hindsight? This spread for snipers could be reduced with veterancy as well. Heroic being no-spread.
  10. The only thing I mention to do is to tick 'Run this program as an administrator' and that's only IF you've installed Renegade X into Program Files (x86). This is the case on Windows 10, because Program Files (x86) requires administrator privs. I just downloaded the .msi via Downloads > Renegade X. It didn't ask for permissions, but I wasn't installing into an area where the launcher needs administrator privs so maybe that's why it didn't ask?
  11. By the way, @kenz3001, I accidentally deleted the first keyframe in the UnReal Matinee. Now the map suffers from Frozen End-game Cam because it won't let me get rid of the one Cam, I thought I was able to fix it by adding a track with no additional camera and attaching the loose end-game cam onto the track but unfortunately this was not acceptable in the code of the editor. What does? Or better yet, I figured out how to add my own Movement sub-track for the loose end-game cam, but was not able to add a FOV to it because weirdly enough matinee doesn't name it FOV or Field of view in the drop-down list. Any ideas? Or a better way to fix this?
  12. [Before we start, you can find the installer: [Here]] **Download issue? If on Windows please ensure your .Net Framework is up-to-date**
  13. Double-Post: Wooo So! If you are reinstalling or are a first time user downloading Renegade X you have two options when installing. A) The hassle-free way. Install Renegade X into a custom directory, instead of the default "C:\Program Files (x86)\", Example: Installing Renegade X into "A:\Retro\Renegade X" And your hassle-free result should appear as below: Or... B) Install Renegade X into the default directory. "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X" Go into "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Launcher" directory. Right-Click on 'Renegade X Launcher.exe' [See below] After you tick the box for "Run this program as an administrator" click 'Apply', then click "OK". Double-click Renegade X Launcher.exe You should be good to go. Enjoy.
  14. Maybe the prompt should just be "Cannot start launcher without 'Run this program as an administrator' enabled in 'Properties > Compatibility'" instead? Pretty sure this can be avoided if Renegade X isn't installed in the primary Program Files (x86) directory. Makes sense as to why some people get this and some people do not get this. Edit: Yepp. I was right.
  15. As in not the accuracy, just the damage, because the gun loses firepower when its not steadied properly... I actually like Jeff's idea more, raise headshot damage on ALL other weapons so we can all feel like shotgun-snipers.
  16. ALL APPLICATION PACKAGES [Read & execute, Read] Ticked. SYSTEM [All] Ticked. Administrators (Username\Administrators) [All] Ticked. Users (Username\Users) [Read & execute, Read] Ticked. And this is why I have 'Run this program as an administrator' ticked under the 'Compatibility' tab in 'Renegade X Launcher.exe' properties.
  17. Or they just get a 'Player285' name slapped onto them.
  18. YOU'RE fine as you are! Hah! Be offended! Be very offended!
  19. Run Launcher.exe as Administrator via 'properties' and see if the update updates the game. Default directory for 'Renegade X Launcher.exe' is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Launcher"

Frostbite Beta 6 A GDI research outpost within the confines of Russia's mountains has been alerted of a nearby Nod Base, clearly the Brotherhood has been drawn here due to the exceedingly rich bounty of tiberium among these icy tops and have already begun scouting the area. Both teams are to find and secure the silo as well as the Communications Center, there are reports of a damaged silo within the area so approach it with caution! Both GDI and Nod will need to be as harsh as the terrain on this battlefield. Good luck out there! You're gonna need it... "Stay out of the center if you know what's good for ya!" Map specifications: -Flying -Heavy Base Defences -Dusk Map -Frosty -Bite'tee -Icy HOW TO INSTALL: Extract the 'UDKGame' folder into your ' C:/Program Files (x86)/ Renegade X/ ' directory. Download both part1 and part2 to the same location Open part1 and extract 'UDKGame' into your 'RenegadeX' directory. Files have now successfully been installed

  22. I followed the minimap tutorial exactly yet still end up with the texture flickering when viewing in the editor: @kenz3001 [EDIT: Minimap is fine when the game is loaded, just in the SDK does it flicker and f'up] Aside from that kink which needs to be worked out... Frostbite F2 [Download Here] Changes: -Hand of Nod has been moved to where the Airstrip Tower was -Airstrip Tower moved near the head of the Airstrip runway -You can no longer beacon any two buildings anymore -Ice cave now has two entrances/exits for both teams -Endgame Cam remastered -Minimap is 99% accurate [Hard to tell 100% due to the flickering bullshit] -Frostbite is almost almost almost complete ToDo: -Create loading screen -Fix minimap flickering (Maybe @Ruud033 has some advice?) -Possible optimization required ToMaybeDo: -Fix texture component line issue. [This may actually just require a new release of the SDK? idk. Maybe someone with some materials editor knowledge could help me out on this one? Where they occur don't ruin the map in the grand scheme of things]
  23. If a spy could temporarily disable a building for some amount of time (1 minute 30 seconds for example) that'd be handy. Something which allows them to hack the Master Control Terminal in order to disable the building would probably be best. To show this in the UI a building icon would flash Yellow. Note: Disable NOT destroy.
  24. You can also fool enemies by standing in the shadow of the rock by the strip tower on Under and they'll run right pass you, even though you're a Hotwire.
  25. Their gun doesn't have a scope, so clearly they are balanced out. What if a sniper rifle couldn't one-headshot-kill when not scoped? Cause, y'know, that'd be super easy to thread into the code, right?
