  1. Ok granted, perhaps I over exaggerated it a bit. Nevertheless, I feel that this type of behavior, how small it is now, can grow into a bigger thing in such a way that others will try this as a standard tactic, even in maps with lower mine limits (TmX has different limit per map) This bothers the hell out of me when I am giving my 150% in defending that key infiltration spot with mines, only to discover they are disappearing due to this sillyness. "Just remine then" Well, it's too late if I have to remine everything, as the opposing team could have seen the weakness at which point, my attendance and keen eye is more needed on the spot than running around remining. It's far easier (AND BETTER!!!) to mine up early, because there is no sniper danger and nor is there the SBH-nuke danger in the first 10 minutes. Those mines that do blow because of engi rushes, is less of a fuss to replace than ALL of the mines
  2. Wait... they did? So basically both of you can't shoot each other And this effect is gamebreaking and thus should be banned because of it! Just immagine people doing this to deflect the shots! Well-placed C4's makes someone immortal, he runs in the enemy base and the C4's explode near the MCT by the person who placed them. WITHOUT anyone dieing! How real is it to have C4's pasted on your body, run in like a suicide bomber and not die?
  3. 4 cores ... i think the other 4 are "virtual" done by hyperthreading(unless u paid a lot for an actual 8 core). And the 660 is slightly better than 750Ti dont think you should lower ur res , try full HD . And yeah the gtx750Ti isnt weak at all considering it uses only 60 watts , overclocks like hell (out of the box) with max temp of 71C and comes at 160$ ... You are right, it has 4 cores but task manager shows 8 so must be virtual. Nevertheless, I play fine on the resolution mentioned. The more you strain your system, the more it heats up and wears down. I believe the game needs some proper stabilisation and optimization though, so tweaking settings should help, but it's not the end result
  4. This discussion is a result of old renners playing by old ren rules (unwritten) meanwhile RenX has lots of non-renners starting to ren, not knowing the old ren rules. I've seen a lot new players disregarding the "proper use" of mines solely for personal gameplay rather than team-based gameplay. Leaving 2 remote C4s on your tank to prevent stealing is what I accept, but anything beyond that I find team hampering. UNTILL ofcourse, remote C4's are limited to 4 per person and are not affecting the mine limit. Also, proxies on the front of the vehicle to run into an enemy tank and do serious damage is something ... shouldn't be allowed in any case! I thought it was RvE who was placing those "proxy hats" but I'm not sure, I joined that Walls match a bit late. Crashed during an explosion early on Goldrush which flipped me off so I didn't return to continue.
  5. I agree that the Carbine is a bit too OP for it to be a sidearm. For that reason, up the price to 250. As for the tiberium rifles, well, capturing and holding the silo must have perks and a sidearm thats better than the standard one is quite nice. Or else the silo would be futile to fight for. The 1 extra credit tick isn't all that much in the end. 1 credit per sec extra --> 60 credits per minute --> 300 credits per 5 minutes --> 600 credits per 10 minutes --> 2400 credits for a 40 minute game assuming you hold it from the start to the end. The credit generation for shooting infantry or tanks is higher than that. It's nice supplement at best, but assuming you die every 5 minutes, you spend half that amount on new sidearms. So yeah, silo = free sidearm upgrade + some additional credits. Must be good. Besides, techs and engineers having to do the work to get the silo, should reward them with a sizeable sidearm. However, a simple free soldier class has this rifle which is better when aiming down the sights. Suggestions to the carbine: Increase price Decrease rate of fire Decrease bullet-travel (should make it harder to aim as you need to lead your target) Set damage to the same as the pistol, or less even as the automatic fire should compensate for it
  6. There are many Dutch people, some Germans and UKers. Some are non-English speakers which is quite obvious to see when they try to communicate through chat, leading me to believe that they are Eastern Europe, Italian and/or French. I'd dare to assume that it's about 65-35 in favor for European players. The 2 major servers (TmX and EKT) are based in Paris Europe, leading me to believe most of their clanbases are from Europe. Server pop at around 8pm GMT+1 (Amsterdam/Berlin timezone) is quite high, whereas 8am GMT+1 is quite low, which would be the NA time to play. I have no idea about the Asian playerbase though. I'd asume people who play through Asian peakhours are either early birds or midnight players from the other timezones
  7. You call that GFX card weak? I'm running on a GTX 660 and it runs smooth as well. Every setting as high as possible, switched off static decals as a Dev suggested it before and a resolution of 1280 x 1024. 16GB RAM (which isn't the max for gaming PCs these days) and a Intel Core i7 CPU (8 cores)
  8. When spawning in, I start with holding a timed C4 or a pistol. Even though I selected automatic pistol in the PT, when I get killed and respawn and take a new character, I still hold the normal pistol. And yes, leaving the PT switches me to the pistol (weapon slot 1) Perhaps because thats it, weaponslot 1 is automatically selected
  9. I'll play along a bit longer, but I still smell a troll! Ok, so I've played a lot of RenX and never seen this "bug" you are talking about, nor have I heard it before. So, here's what I'll ask of you: Since it happens to you a lot (according to you) take a screenshot or record a small clip and share it with us. No vid/snapshot? No proof, no bug! Besides, the game's still in Beta and this game isn't going to be unsuccesful. The 2 gaming companies you are talking about (name them for proof maybe?) could be shut down because of low profits. RenX isn't developped to earn money, therefor shutting it down for that reason is b#llsh!t.

    Rotation

Ohh! That would be a great idea! Maps played the last 3 matches are excluded from the vote, so in essence, there is a "rotation" but the players decide in which order and most likely never the same order
  11. Truxa

    Rotation

Great to hear! Is it also improved on the fact that when people vote for 2 or 3 maps and end up with a tie (lets say 4 vote walls, 4 vote field and 4 vote volcano) the map which is highe up in the list (field) is therefor favoured? Happens loads of times a vote-tie and I understand the need for a tie-breaker, but is that supposed to be the map-list?
  12. I'm beginning to smell a troll in this guy!
  13. True, ref and pp had lower levels and yes, it was Sydney using the pistol to shoot Havoc to indicate the armor and health loss when wearing armor or no armor. I think, as we don't have the solo-version, smaller version of the existing buildings would suffice. Just scaling them down a bit so it's isn't an overly big map for this tutorial purpose. Gunner will instruct weapons use and their potency, etc etc. And as a finale e.g., the intro for the finale would be like to defend the barracks as a Nod simulated attack would go for barracks. To do this, you would need to place 4 mines in the marked area's (4 each doorway; not the sandbag area)
  14. Remember playstation 1? It took what, 1 minute or so to be able to start playing? Sony logo --> PS logo --> License and warnings --> Game intro --> Startscreen Point being, it took way longer before, why are these 10 seconds a "dick move" is beyond me
  15. "Issue" solved --> topic locked. neeeeeeeeext
  16. Since when did companies add a legitimate way to bypass their logo's and thus the game's brand? I don't see this as an issue at all, I mean, c'mon... Whenever you start up a game, you always somehow get to wait or click away the company logo. Some games make it 3-4 logo's in a row and each need to be clicked away, or force the players to wait through it for atleast 10 seconds or more. It's just acknowledgement of the game's brand, the people who made it and with what tools! Even the game's name is important. This is just a silly issue imo. You guys are just lucky enough to be able to rename a movie folder so you can "bypass" it. But in no way is this supposed to be "oké" Try it with other games and you end up with a non-functional game.
  17. Well I have played Renegade X from the start beta 1 and 2 with no crash's!!!! How do explane that? You're lucky? You only played Beta 1 twice and Beta 2 once? Everyone had crashes in Beta 1 and 2, the lowest crashed about 25% of the time (1 in 4 games). I was just saying that it seems to happen more frequent to crash due to explosions because the other crash reason (mapswitch) has been eliminated. I'm thinking it might have to do with some filters, but I'm not sure.
  18. No, in the original ren, there was this tutorial map simulating a Nod assault and explaining every building function, as well as the MCT and certain weapons. It's fairly small and can be recreated, while adding a prepping time to e.g. correctly "mine up" the attacked building.
  19. Great idea, tutorial map! A must-play map prior to multyplaying to explain the basics of the game and e.g. mining tactics
  20. Yes, crashing/freezing due to explosion is more frequent now, or atleast I have the impression that it is ever since the other crash issue has been gone. But to say that it's unplayable, surely, you haven't played Beta 1 and 2 through the crashes for very long. I'd say it mostly happens on Walls though. Which is a good thing, I'm getting tired of the map as people tend to vote for it the majority of the time. Hopefully, these crash issues will divert people from Walls, atleast untill Beta4 comes out
  21. RenX certainly has a better immersion, thats for sure! Comparing both games like this certainly shows the difference in ambience and terrain and realism overall. Nicely done sir! I must say though, "Jobless gaming" seems a bit off, if you know what I mean It's the stereotype you see
  22. I aint too savvy with dem consoles. I use your tip in the future, good sir! However I still think it is a valid point as your suggestion could be a prelude to everything people would want. "Just enter console command for this or that" aint no real solution, only a temporary one. This solution is appriciated though
  23. Hi, Just a suggestion for the game menu: When you finished a game and want to call it quits, perhaps the creation of a "Quit Game" option would be nice instead of being booted to the "Front End" map when you press "Exit Game". "Exit Game" suggests to exit the game entirely, not just the server. For those who use the "Exit Game" to go to the Front End map and select a skirmish mode or use the ingame serverlist to select a new server, perhaps an option called "Leave Game" could be made (or renamed to be more fair as the function is already there)

    Name-shaming

Yeah totally! Dude, where did you get your driving license? In Turkey for $100,-? In all seriousness though, especially on server running 30-45 mine limit, GDI can realy use the cap to defend the buildings rather than Nod accidentally hitting 1 mine somewhere in the field.

    Name-shaming

I feel like I should keep up a list of players who need a RenX-lesson or 2, especially with regards to mining. After a long while, I played a session today, well atleast I tried... TmX server, Lakeside, GDI, 45 mine limit. I noticed proxy mines scattered around the infantry path (at the trees and above) and tried to figure out who it was, but to my surprise, it was someone I always thought of being one of the "pro's" as I see his name quite often ingame and doing significant stuff. I intend to make a list of player names, but as it's easy to change the name, it's kinda futile. Still though, this list would name a few and if people come across them ingame and see something stupid like proxies all over the map, they might link it to those players. Name-shaming is not good as a community, I'm aware of that. If you want to have a healthy community, we should teach and learn from eachother. But as soon as I saw this, I was like ...-sigh- Why do I bother playing this game if people are simply not willing to learn to play?
