  1. When you are succesful in infiltrating a building, do this: As a tech/hotty, place BOTH your timed C4 first. Then place your REMOTE C4. ALL on the MCT! Thats very important! Now, when the 1st Timed C4 blows, set off your REMOTE C4's, just 2 seconds later, your 2nd Timed C4 will blow and kills the building. To the unwary, it seems as if the building blew up in no-time, because ALL the charges blew in matter of seconds, it's just a matter of timing the timed C4's. A single Timed C4 deals 40% building damage when placed on a MCT. A single Remote C4 deals 20% building damage when placed on a MCT. When all C4's blow, they deal a total of 120% building damage. Timed C4 on the outside wall = 10% Remote C4 on the outside wall = 5% Totalling 30% for all 4 C4's. Perhaps you "missed" the MCT?
  2. Crashed in Beta 4! Been a long while since any crashing occured, but this has been the 2nd time in Beta 4. Twice more than in Beta 3, so here's a log file. Hope it helps finding the cause and for optimization Pre-crash game details: Map: Field; well over 70 minutes played. GDI lost Barracks and Refinery. Nod had it all. Tried to place an airstrike while someone else was also placing an airstrike. Date: 02-04-2015 @ 22:04 pm GMT+1 (if you want to look up server info for any reason) Regards, Trux Launch.log
  3. You basically answered your topic-question with a "No" by posting this comment. No, because it gives a small advantage of using opposite faction vehicles. As a consequence of being careless to let your vehicle be stolen. In terms of the vehicle crates though, I do like the idea of Nod driving red-ish medium tanks/mammoths/APCs/MLRS when they obtain a GDI vehicle from a crate. Same for GDI with Gold-ish tint on their vehicle crates
  4. No no, Truxa. That's not how it works. Localization changes the text locally. It means, server can freely set their language but would not affect the client's language at all, unless the dev hardcoded all the UI text. Do you ever notice those files ending up with .int? It's the default English localization file. UT3 also had .esn (Spanish) and others as well besides .int. Basically, localization and modding is a different thing. You don't need to mod your game to change the language Problems arise in chatting. Localization does not cover chattings World of Warcraft did it too, what the end result was is the following: In trade chat, people selling items, right? Well, a German player with the German language mod linking his items, but globally it's seen IN GERMAN! Even for me, when playing the USEN version is forced to read German. Then the thing of voices, "Keep em coming!" is like what? "Es geht loss!" nvm if it's client side, but its a defenite NO to server-side. Furthermore, the people would read German in the PT's and EVA console messages, instigating to type German/Portugese/French/Russian when trying to organize rushes or teamplay. Even though I missed the point of how it would be realized, I'm still against it!
  5. I think its a bad idea. Not to be the bad guy here, but just learn English! Geesh! It would do you good to survive in the entire world! But more importantly though, what do you think will happen if you make localization mods? Different servers running different langagues, hence you get fragmentation within the community! Less people populating servers and only filling up 16 out of 40 slots. People who love the 32+ games would stop to play because of the lack of players, and you get even a lower community. Whats next? German mod for German players? (No offence) And Russian? French? If 1 gets their way, the others would want it too, because it's "easier" for them to speak their native language than to learn friggin English! Playing online games is the BEST way to learn English imo. It's a fun environment and when you have fun, you learn easier!
  6. I'd say the new and improved marksman free-class, is an excellent anti-sniper! I know what you guys are saying, snipers looking into the Nod base when the powerplant was destroyed, suppressed ALL infantry! Once, a deadeye and 2 havocs were up there and Nod had trouble getting out. I took a marksman and shot at the deadeye. 4 headshots in a row didnt kill him, but brought him down to 5%, he backed off. Now, if everyone is so fussed about camping snipers, why dont you just play smart and camp your sniper to scope out their locations? As soon as they pop out their heads, it's off with them! The difference? You, being 1 sniper countering their 3 snipers! Who would benefit more from that? your team or their team? You have to look at things on a team-basis, not solo/personal basis! It's a combined team-effort to reach a common goal! If that means, repair vehicles, then buy a hot/tech and do so if it makes your team win! If it means, buy a useless free-class marksman to suppress the other team effectively, then do it! Off with the K/D ratio! Off with the recomendation system! Off with any stats to compare to others individually! It's a team based game and everything that makes it possible to compare to other individuals makes it that much more appealing to play a solo commando/Rambo
  7. I have no clue how to mod or do what you guys do, but after reading this the following came to mind: In colleges and/or universities, the maths teachers tend to show a "simple" problem and "the solution". Call this the "easy tutorial". Math teachers then take a test and present a very complex problem, to solve it, you must combine a multitude of solutions, which you have learned individually, to solve the problem. Call this the "complex tutorial". What I'm saying is, simple tutorials teach you the basics, but complex tutorials teach you how to integrate them all together. So, I don't know how much work it is, but I think it would be great to have a "simple tutorial" for the beginners and a "complex tutorial" for the advanced.
  8. Looked at your post in Other Bugs section and what came to mind was: "Too Long, Did Not Read!" Oh Em Gee! Thats 1 mother of a list you got there! I'm sure the Devs will take a very good look at it, but some of them might already been fixed in Beta 4. Very nice job in any case! On behalve of ... well, me ... Can't speak for anyone else Thanks for the great effort and keep up the good work!
  9. As long as you suck, it's all fine and dandy with me
  10. the EA games have a HUUUGE disadvantage in this type of poll though. imo, the Westwood games prevail versus EA's. Most of the EA's i havent played or heard of simply because I didnt like the gameplay much, except generals.
  11. Oh for the love of ... would you people PLEASE STOP commenting STEAM suggestions?! THANKS! It's been in the works for a few years now. STEAM REQUIRES EA'S APPROVAL!!! Which up to now, THEY DIDNT GIVE YET! Damn ... get it through your big heads already! Both loads of EKT and TmX members are BETA testing, hence the low pop, but on the other hand, depending on your timeframe, you wont see many online. Most players come from the EU, resulting in full servers starting at 6pm GMT+1.
  12. I love the Pokemon theme songs lol And I call hax! j/k But some shots do seem like being fired behind/in front of a player and kills em...

    Steam?

You know why? because of the DLC and pay-to-win model has had it's peak and is on it's decline, a steep one. People are fed up with having to buy DLCs AND a monthly sub to be able to fully access a game. 10 years ago, the only well-played subscription game out there was World of Warcraft. Then there was a great new genre: "free-to-play" but "pay-to-win" which EA has combined with DLCs. It was a great money-maker, but in the long run, it's getting real expensive and people dont want to keep paying a retail price on a monthly basis just to play a certain game. Especially the casual gamer like myself.
  14. Apache passengers can shoot a very powerfull rocket, in the direction of the apache's heading. It knocksquite a bit of health off of buildings and reloads in 5 seconds i believe. Makes me believe that passenger firing is possible, should only be implemented correctly. In the old ren, Q was the default button for passengers to use the humvee/APC chaingun e.g. but the usefullness still eludes me, because the passenger has a harder time compensating for the drivers manouvres
  15. Right, but that shouldnt happen in your own base or it's your own fault you didnt land that orca behind the WF, to cover against snipers. It's not only an interesting idea, some might consider it teamhampering if you don't do it (to counter SBH hyjackers) and leave your vehicle in the field to repair it (med tanks/mammoths) Being killed before you can detonate them, is a very weak excuse imo. I do like the idea of a repair station for your vehicle only, as a tech building, somewhere out of the way. But the maps need to be a bit larger for that, X-Mountain size (vehicle side)
  16. City was an 8-like-shape road system. 1 going several metres above the other when intersecting. 2 skyscrapers at either side of the bases and in the middle 2 flats. Flying vehicles couldnt fly over those, but could fly over the 4 skyscrapers. both sides had 1 vantage point each, accessed through 2 tunnels, overlooking the middle field, while there were 2 balcony type of things overlooking each base. Oh boy, did I hate those snipers on top of the bridge.
  17. I'd say it negatively influences teamplay and promotes commando's. This is still a team-based game, in which you have to use teamwork in order to accomplish anything. Even repairing. If you are so worried about your orca being stolen in the middle of your base, get your ass a hotwire or engineer and use remote C4's on that succer as soon as you purchase it! AFAIK no vehicle can be entered for 15 seconds after purchase by any other than the purchaser. Enough time imo, to place 2 remotes and refill. If anything like that is to be iumplemented, it's on new maps in the form of a repair pad, like the original ren had. But not on all maps.
  18. Scorpion hunters ... the 1st campaign for the single player of C&C Renegade? It's a mod you are talking about to coop with others online and doing that campaign. What you are realy asking for, is a single player game of Renegade X, turned into a multiplayer coop mode. You are talking about, making new maps out of scratch, with just 1 team, with lots of AI's, with mechanics atm not in RenX in order for it to work ...
  19. SERIOUSLY?! CITY?! WILL IT HAPPEN? FOR REALZ?! OMG, FUCK YEAH!
  20. So you were playing on a server against bots? What server was this? Handi is one of those guys who will convince everyone to join 1 team and fill the other team up with bots ... any public server can do that. Do the following: Join a server (TmX server e.g.). Do a vote to ADD BOTS to a team, JUST 1 TEAM! (e.g. GDI) Players can now switch teams to the other team, which has no bots. Voila, you have a public match, Bots vs players. Handi did that before, when we had about 5 or 7 players in the server. 2v3 or 3v4 isnt a lot of fun, so we decided to do this. It can be quite fun, however, Bots have this gnasty deadly head-shot aim especially as PIC's and snipers
  21. I believe Kenz explained it once that he deliberately chose these colors because it's a change of scenery. Instead of the snow-white or desert-sand colors, he wanted to try something different. In my opinion, he succeeded masterfully. So no, I'm sorry for your screenshots and streams.
  22. I actually like the idea of turret placements. The problem I see is the following though: During offline matches, while being a spy, the enemy AI ALWAYS shoots at you, rendering the spy useless, unless ofcourse, GDI has a SBH Spy. Dont know if it's also true for online matches with active AI's. This will make GDI spycrate camping through and through for the SBH spy and Nod will not, due to the fact they ONLY want a class-crate or money crate. I dunno if that's been fixed yet though. I remember a mod on C&C Renegade in which you can purchase the Nod Turrets and place them anywhere you fancy! About your deterring the turret placements inside enemy buildings, just simply make them unable to be build in buildings (due to size limitations and the likes) Reason for this, Nod has VERY effective SBH-TimedC4 rushes. If you are able to build AI turrets near the MCT in your OWN building, it would affect that type of play to such an extend, it's not right. Furthermore, I'd also add the limitation to be unable to build turrets too close to the buildings. Infiltrations should still be a viable. Turrets placed in key-area's to deter infiltrators is all nice and good, but shouldnt prevent it completely. Last thing: AI's have a tendency of shooting constant headshots even at max-range. The Gun turret holding 3 rifles seems to me a bit too OP. 3 guns headshotting at automatic rifle range ... hmmm ... They would be too OP on maps like Walls: Flying (at the sides, covering the tunnels and sides)
  23. The following website gives a rough idea what your machiene gets you: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index. ... quirements Problem: Your memory. It's "on par" though Ren-X demands more than what this site is lead to believe. Believe me, I had it running with 4GB RAM. Problem: Your GPU. Is it on-board or is it a separate GPU? Because the on-board GPU's Display Memory is drawn from the 4GB RAM (as far as I understand it). Furthermore, the GPU is at 80% of recommended. Like I said before, this site is not up-to-date to the system requirements so it's even less than 80%. Can you run it? Yes! Can you run it smoothely? No! Ultra-low settings might get you somewhere, but playing this game on 800x600 is like ... meh ... Disabling certain filters add to the performance. In any case, I am not fond of using laptops to play games. It might be handy to game wherever you have power and internet, but a laptop is more expensive and fragile imo. Just my 2-cents. Hope it helps and if I'm wrong, please correct me.
  24. Is the issue with the freezing resolved? You know, when a vehicle explodes, the game freezes? Previously the game crashed when that happens, so I'm just wondering about those freezes. The client freezes but the server doesnt. When for example I'm running forward and a freeze occurs, I find myself on the other side of the map as if I've been running the entire time.

    campaign

Is it me or is this totally off-topic? Anyway, Black Dawn was nice yeah! I would realy love more! Old ren coop maps were modifications of the single-player maps though. You have the solo-campaign turned into an online coop mode, which is imo, harder than the hardest difficulty on single player. But I believe they are not considering the idea of making an entire new solo or coop mod. It would take sooooo much time which is better spend towards getting out of Beta into full release
