  1. Early next month I'm building an absolute ridiculous machine using latest-gen Ryzen 3950x, 64gb ram, 6tb pcie-4 nvme raid0, 2080ti with 4 monitors, one of which will be 165Hz for gaming. Would be happy to give it a go.
  2. Even putting heavily-armored tanks like the Mammoth Tank aside, let's say you're on Field and GDI is sending a MRLs to the Nod base. A flame tank could EASILY wipe out that MRLs in just a couple of seconds, in fact once it's in range it's difficult for the MRLs to even target the flame tank back. But any competent MRLs driver will see the flame tank coming from miles away and destroy it before it gets in range. Rather thank thinking of the flame tank's strengths as annihilating buildings & infantry but being weak against tanks, think of its strength as its firepower but its weakness is range. The stealth tank CAN take down a mammoth but if the mammoth reacts immediately and hits all its shots, a single stank won't stand a chance. A stealth tank's strength is its invisibility and speed, weaknesses include difficult aim on small targets (like infantry) and pitiful HP.
  3. I haven't been around here much lately, but I have a few thoughts that I'd like to share, take them for what they're worth. 1) The C&C branding is what attracted most of us to this game initially. However the last "Tiberium Series" game was almost a decade ago. If you want a game to succeed in the current climate, you need to attract players in ages from teens through about 30, and I don't know that the C&C branding helps that anymore. It's one of those "old" brands like Pac Man that has grown stale due to not having any new titles. Yes, C&C is getting a remaster by Petroglyph (so hopefully the new ones will be pretty good), but there's no release date and we've seen how easily C&C projects get canceled. In light of this, I think a reskin should be seriously considered. You don't have to change the lore all that much. Simply changing the names and appearances of the characters and items beyond a reasonable legal threshold should suffice, but behaviors can stay the same. I would be just as happy driving my "invisibility tank" through a "chem-gem field" as I am driving my Stealth Tank through Tiberium. 2) Re: lack of artists to do a proper reskin... I remember years ago there was talk about making RenX open source. Not sure what happened to that line of thought, but what if a reskin was launched as a forked project with a new/shared team? The two iterations of the game could coexist and promote one another, likewise members of the RenX team could simultaneously work on the reskin team so that they could personally benefit from any revenues it brings in. Obviously you would need strict accounting and a very clear boundary between the projects in order to honor the original EA agreement. Building a new team for a reskin would undoubtedly be a challenge, but it might be easier to recruit talent that is willing to invest their time for a possible payoff down the line than those who do this as a passion project for free (nothing wrong with either approach, just speaking in general terms about talent acquisition). Just a few thoughts. Hope everyone is well. Happy late new year to you all. :)
  4. Hello all, You may remember last year's card. Well once again I hope you, your friends, and your family have a great holiday. I'll be doing my usual Christmas tradition of eating a microwave dinner in front of a mirror.
  5. All I get is a white screen until I force quit UDK.exe. Nvidia 980 TI btw. Anyone else experience this?
  6. Thanks for posting this video. I actually got a chance to play "Command & Conquer" (aka Generals 2) at E3 and it was bad. It just wasn't fun.
  7. I've been enjoying playing on the server! A couple pieces of feedback on the custom mutators (which are overall GREAT, btw) and settings. 1) Bots. They're controversial, some people love them and some people hate them. But when the server votes them out, they die but immediately new ones spawn in their place. I had my gameplay absolutely WRECKED just now due to friendly bots. One blew my stealth cover, one detonated mines I was defusing, and a pair of them handed tanks to the enemy right in their base. I understand the need for bots to even out the teams, but when they're voted out they should stay out. 2) Seems whenever you buy a tech/engineer, your default weapon becomes remote c4 instead of the repair gun. If you quickly swap to an engineer to repair a building under attack, this leads to you tossing a c4 at your feet rather than repairing. Not only does this delay the repair but it also costs you a valuable remote c4 while a building may be under siege. 3) While I understand the "no beacons before 16 players" rule, as per another thread I would love to see an exception made when your hon+air or wf+bar are destroyed. Once you've lost all means of production, there aren't many ways to launch a counterattack. Beacons are one of the things that still give you hope you can turn around a game. Otherwise, once you've lost those buildings you basically just want to hasten your loss to move on to the next map. Thanks again for the server, I really enjoy it, and Goku/Sarah are doing a great job with it as well.
  8. My observations might have been coincidentally all on AGN as well. Correlation without causation.
  9. I've only ever seen this on the AGN server. I think something in their modifications causes these visual glitches. Also seen weird effects with Mobius's gun.
  10. Hi everybody, I'm in search of a new gaming mouse. I've been using a Razer Deathadder Chroma for a while and like it, but also want to explore other options. Curious what you use and how you like it. Cheers!
  11. It's very nice of you to personally fund this. I look forward to playing on your server. Where will it be located geographically?
  12. I don't see how it will be enforceable at all if the site is outside the EU. I run several websites, two of which get over 1M pageviews monthly, and if any EU officials came knocking I'd tell them to go pound sand. There's nothing they can do to me or my sites. This is getting off topic though.
  13. The site already doesn't notify for cookies as is required by EU law, which leads me to suspect it's not in the EU. Seems the server is being cached by CloudFlare, so for me it's served from Arizona, USA. Not sure where the origin server is, but if it's not in Europe then it doesn't need to comply with the GDPR.
