Fair enough, the only reason I hinted the hotwire/tech to do this is because of the PS2 Technician. It's a supportive role, thats the only reason. Engineers can't solo a building with 2 remotes and a single timed C4, so perhaps it's the engineer's job then? I'd add to it that it wont replenish C4's though, only AMMO!
-
I know some are against Planetside 2, but this idea comes from PS2: Let technicians and hotwires drop ammo crates or refill nodes or whatnot. As the game mechanics do not allow for passive ammo regain, people would need to "use" the packet on the ground and it could only deliver 10% of your max ammo or so, meaning it wont replenish it all at once and having only 5 uses, so in total replenishes 50%. Add a cooldown timer (1-5 minutes?) for dropping it. Dropping another would mean the prior one disappears, so no multy dropping. And to top it off, the enemy can use it too! So carelessly dropping them around is a bad idea

A list of minor things I believe needs some tweaks
Truxa replied to Handepsilon's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
What about the guy in your last pic: "Handjob_of_Nod"? Sure he wasn't AFK because of what his name suggested? and what about the other "0-pointers"? 0-score usually indicates inactivity or recently joined. (just shooting (not killing!) as a marksman/soldier yields some amount of points) -
Well, that's strange! This is more evidence that stealth is handled client-(observer)-side, which is (I think) easier to manipulate than server-side. Strange that something like an outdated videodriver is causing a game-breaking malfunction while it should actually be game-encoded rather than using graphics options.

Thats up for debate, but the idea must be implementable in the first place -

For your number 3 point, the vote system is in place to vote them off the server freeing up space for others. But this is not ideal realy. My suggestion for this behavior: an AFK time limit resulting in an automatic kick. Devs are busy working on people who disconnect and reconnect, that they do not lose their purchases and credits if they reconnect within 5 minutes. To that end, I'd suggest a max AFK timelimit of 5 minutes resulting in a kick. This would also kick people who deliberately go inactive after they lose a building or 2 and don't see the point in continueing. -
Not too long ago this was reported. I remember it being the same in Beta 2. I think the Devs are aware but it's a small issue compared to the major ones. Perhaps Beta 4 will fix it

Ofcourse it is! But those big companies want to protect their rights and why shouldn't they? Rename the ingame characteres and vehicles and buildings to not correspond to the CnC franchise or any other. Remodel the buildings/vehicles/characters a small bit to not resemble the CnC franchise or any other. Maps are essentially remade but not exact copies of the original so therefore, I see no problem there. Game mechanics remain the same. How often has Blizzard pulled this trick to resemble other games and movies and incorporated them into World of Warcraft.

Blizzards permission, as with EA, will yield the same result: OK but no $$ for you! We (Blizz/EA) wantz it allz!

Don't count on it, those Walls screenshots GDI lost to a SBH nuking the Warfactory, but I saw him do it You are a model-renegader sir! You are not cheating (or not deliberately) but still have the egde, yet you don't (ab)use it! Yet, countless others deliberately cheat to get the edge
-
Well, this is a very convenient bug for GDI, but gamebreaking to say the least. GDI picks up an SBH spy crate but Nod is able to see the spy, bummer In any case, your settings seem to be the same as mine, except for the gore, I've enabled it and set FOV to 100. Now I know who to team up with on GDI lol walking stealth detector DEADSO

This will be a hard and extensive question to ask, but perhaps easier to answer when you have a 2nd PC or laptop on hand to write a reply. What are your game settings? List every graphical settings, even the advanced ones (3 pages) It seems to me that the observer either shows or doesnt show the stealthed unit by means of a graphic setting. As this is different between players, it accounts for the 1 person being able to see stealthed whereas the others dont.

Fan-made map called oasis I believe, was a huge, and I mean, HUGE map with like 3 AGT/Obelisks, couple powerplants bar's/Hon's/WF's/Strips just HUGE! It was used half a year ago to stress-test a server by getting max people on at the same time, racing around the map. I believe we used attack bikes and a modified humvee for added speed. Maps the size we have in Ren-X would be unsuitable for races and designing a race-map would be ... sorry to say, waste of resources and waste of time for the Devs (because it is still not possible for fans to make and install maps, it has to be in a games build)

Not true, only availible location for the snipers are the balconies. The top of the mountain would be inaccessible.

I've checked the Game Debate website for Renegade X and looked up your specs, the following link contained the results: http://www.game-debate.com/games/index. ... quirements NOTE: I filled in your RAM to be 4GB, but if you have more that should be fine. Less could be a problem though. Note that your GPU performs slightly less than the recommended, I'd say thats the issue when playing with higher population on the server. I've read yesterday that by entering the game, going to settings and advanced grapic setting, page 3. Checking OFF "Static Decals" setting. This would improve your gameplay, as per viewtopic.php?f=13&t=74128 However, laptops aren't my choice for gaming in any case. But hope these tips helped!

Here is an idea: Make a map-rotation of maps the server owners chooses, like old ren. It would remove the vote-spam (mapchange) because the server plays all the maps anyway, so no votes needed.

A few issues with the settings in Beta 3
Truxa replied to Darkraptor's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
When I first installed Beta3 and started it up to play, I got a pop-up window asking for a nickname. Maybe you didn't see it at the time or just closed it to add a nick on a later time? -
By any chance a World of Warcraft player? On topic: How did that infiltration end up?
-
Thats just sick! I can immagine the media and parents generating a lot of flack towards these kind of games, damn this is sick ... Whats the fun in killing innocent people in the most unholy ways possible
-
Yeah, especially as infantry running towards a sniper at the end of the road, no where to go and trapped! lol Same for arties/MLRS driving towards that single sniper holding them back

Donat unlock after 3 minuntes in publick games
Truxa replied to Darkraptor's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
Ohh hell yeah I like this a lot! More often than not I'm in the game as the first 10 people after a round ends. Seeing the playerlist I'm thinking, did everyone leave or something?! But no, every second or 2, they join. So I recommend that the startup period before the round actually begins, should be 1 minute. Donation lock followed up by 3 minutes AFTER the round starts (no donations in the 1st minute either) This forces people to pick up a free class, do some early damage and earn some credits along te way. The results would be ofcourse, everyone is able to buy humvees/buggies pretty early. But this also gives time for those designated defenders to boost up the key access points for those rushes that do get through. People complain mainly about 2 things: 1. Improper mining or overmining or disregarding mining by using too many remote C4's (=teamhampering imo) -And- 2. Early rushes Both are hard to defend against as you won't be able to 'know' where the rush is heading and the mines are removed by that single jackass using remotes. Suggestion for remotes: as AT mines are limited to 2 per player, why not limit remote C4's to 2 (or 4/6/8) per person as well while not counting them towards the mine limit. To refill, put them into the weapon slot like EMP/AT/Carbine/etc is at as well, but for 0 credits to 'buy' them (tech/hot/engy only) That defender is able to put some remotes in the main access way to try to counter that early rush, without destroying the mining. -
That awekward moment that you realize someone posted he's streaming, followed by a reply saying it's over. /cry Damn you timezones!

I read it all and loved your ideas, but this is the only part I feel I should comment on at the moment: "The bigger they are, the harder they fall" or just slower. If you want to increase Patch's speed, why not decrease LCG's speed for the same reason: he's big and clunky, holding a heavy weapon. He should move slower. This suggestion is also to balance things a bit as Nod has relatively fast and light vehicles, maybe this is a chance for a slow but deadly infantry unit. Counterpart of the GDI, the other way around (slow/heavy veh with fast/light infantry)
-
Its just modifying the vehicles allowed to play with and perhaps change the buildings. What else? perhaps the ramps to the middle field top modified into just balconies. It isn't like they create a whole new map for it.
-
I agree, silo in infantry-only area would be cool! Perhaps with the tunnels, you could make part of the tunnels "above ground" as in, on top of the rocks, where the silo could be placed.
