I wanted it back without the pick-ups, but good to know where you stand at this!

Check, check, double check, release date check ?

Small sidenote: the people who post their feedback here are a different kind than the ones complaining ingame!

Can we combine this with a press release? I can't find the topic I once made about, but what if we would send a press release to game journalist in every country (in their own language) so it would come on hundreds of mainstream game sites and perhaps related printed media. I can imagine the last would motivate some 'old gamers' off Renegade to get back. I for example 'ended up' in Renegade cause of the dutch 'technews' website tweakers.net. 200 'newssites' on the list and maybe 50 placing the article would bring a huge amount of traffic, imagine it would be more.

Managed to do this multiple times with Nod. It requires a bit of skill, a lot of ignorance on the enemy side (which is usually the biggest factor for success) and some teamwork (which is hard to find). I am pretty sure it does work great, but you also have to be lucky. Nod doesn't need to conquer any vehicle path. Just sneak 4 stanks behind enemy vehicles and DO NOT fire / get out / take a crate / smoke a blunt / whatever else besides head for the enemy base and shoot together and you might have luck. Factor is that a 'combined vehicle rush' is far more common on GDI, while most people on Nod tend to go other units (SBH most likely) while still not communicating. As I always say: one fist is stronger than 5 fingers... In this way GDI has more chances of winning, cause it's more likely the vehicles get together OUTSIDE the enemy base than stealth units meeting eachother inside the enemy base (unless communicating). Sure things can be changed / upgraded, but I always liked the map. I know that people think off me as someone always complaining (cause I do about teamwork). But I never underestimated the work people put into the game. What I always see if that EVERY change gets rewarded with hate by 'new' people. Quotes like: "This wasn't like this in the original Renegade" , or: "This map sucks, cause it isn't walls / field / insert random well know map." What also adjusts the way people feel about a map are these things: - A few weeks ago (and maybe now, but I haven't played that much) there was a lot of stacking - Some people tend to always play GDI / Nod and do not let the 'faith' judge on which side they are. In case of the last scenario: I don't mind if I lose after a proper fight while being on Nod (which is on this case described as the team which most likely loses, but not in my own experience). But if you always switch to one side you might end-up with more people doing this, and break the balancing. But reason one sounds far more valid. And to be honest: I complain about teamwork, but if it's there (and not (over)stacked), than it's what decides the outcome of a map and NOT the map itself...

Serious? I always use it to see IF I can reach the enemy ref, which is usually camped by people who know that you can do it that way. BTW: I vote to bring back Trainingyard V1.0 without the bugs and weapon pick-ups!

Here goes the same as I posted for Crashsite, the map is absolutely no problem if people know it and some are willing to defend and others to attack. For GDI getting vehicles usually work, while Nod really needs to organize stuff. 5 stanks (or even the same amount of arties) and it's just gg, but you almost never notice this. Once we played on Nod with a few regulars we would almost always win. Just get a buggy, stick it full C4 and suicide the GT and you have free play as SBH. I think this map isn't single sided at all, but the adjustments are really welcome!
-
So far most maps I played here were single sided, but this was more due everybody just checking the map. I also noticed that when people had played the map they would defend from an incoming rush. For me it's good the way it is besides the strange beacon spots @ GDI side. People should just learn also to defend!

Valley: GDI Gaurd Tower vs Nod Gun emplacement
Ryz replied to Darkraptor's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
GDI doesn't have stealth, so if they CAN evade the turrets and nobody acts on the turret sound + mines dissapearing it's just a bonus for GDI if they kill a building cause the enemy team didn't care. Giving Nod the same turrets as GDI would change what makes the factions unique. I guess Nod is more infantery focussed, so GDI focuses on this with defence and vise versa. -
Suggestions for a game mode in the final version release.
Ryz replied to TheWankBank's topic in Renegade X
You asked why nobody is answering, I gave you a reason. I am absolutely carte blanche in this and have nothing against or with the plans, but I figured I just answer you so at least someone does. Regarding this isn't a normal 'do this and do not' thread. You are giving suggestions like in any similar thread, but ok... -
Suggestions for a game mode in the final version release.
Ryz replied to TheWankBank's topic in Renegade X
It would be cool if someone could investigate this, but I have no clue Henk. -
Imagine someone would 'capture' the bus while 20 sbh are sitting in the back. GDI person drives to base to show his 'present' and Nod brings the fireworks!

I also noted that you can sneak a beacon under the bridge and it will kill the WF. Once I fell in the river on the wrong side I couldn't get under the bridge, so I got out of the water and got killed. Is the bridge spot intended?

Will there be a cocktail bar ?

Suggestions for a game mode in the final version release.
Ryz replied to TheWankBank's topic in Renegade X
I think that there are many topics suggesting 'do this and do that.' Not a bad thing, but people got a bit overwhelmed by them and don't react. Also the resources are limited. When the full game releases it should have, if you ask me: CnC mode Sniper mode Deadmatch mode Why? Cause these are allready created and don't take a lot off effort. -
Lol I once noticed a big group killed by this cause someone decided to pick a crate. If you could only predict if it was nuke crate and than run at it as a SBH, imagine the damage....

Just noticed the leaderboard now is more detailed with beacons disarmed / placed in it for example, but also proxies placed and removed. GJ!

Someone recently packed the whole game (server owner [AoG]iTweek): http://file-server.download/Renegade-X/ ... X-5.16.rar I also had issues with downloading the full game (version 5.14 I guess is the whole package), but others tested and it worked for them. Hope this link works Super!

Good news!

Maybe, but I think this will be difficult, you can divide people in multiple classes and than divide them by points and classes? For example: Kills with snipers (snipers) Building destroyed / damaged with c4 (infiltrator) Building damaged / destroyed with vehicle (tank 'pilot' Repairpoints (repair guy, maybe even divided in building and vehicle repair points) Mine kills (defender) I understand this is quite difficult, but if you would balance on score (per time radius) only you might get teams who look balanced based on points. But ingame it still might not work, cause these people with a lot of points cause sieging a building in one game, might be totally worthless next round cause they don't have the support of people defending their base. I am not sure how this would work out, but I can imagine two things to be 'more easy': 4 people have kills with mines, even though they aren't really highly ranked. Those 4 people will be split over two teams so you have, in a normal situation where those kills occurred in a building, at least 2 people who know to defend. Snipers gets split over both teams, so every team has the benefit of a sniper IF they chose to be a sniper and on the other hand teams have some guarantee that they won't have all the 'solo' snipers who aren't participating. Outcome would be that you won't only have highly ranked players, but also teamplayers. It would be cool if the balancing system could more or less assure every team has a miner and a repair guy as a basic.

Always wondered how the balancing worked indeed. Sometimes I join games and when we switch I see 90 percent of the names I know on one site (I assume without switching) while the players with names including 'player' and other random names I don't know on the other side. Usually this team awaits a nightmare and they will lose....

I think, but I can't judge about this, that the bot is disabled on purpose. While joining the PUG server I got kicked by the bot cause I was AFK (aka waiting). I can't imagine the afk bot was setup for the server specifically, so I guess it's just disabled on purpose on the other servers. Reason I guess: - Seeding the server AFK bot would be welcome addition to kick players, even if they are just afk for 10 minutes. A minute of two is a different case. but last week I played some games where one side would win in 2 minutes on almost every map. Since there were so many attacks I didn't have the time to votekick people and if I tried some people (I guess on the enemy team) would just vote no while half the people didn't even care to vote. Makes the game hard to enjoy for me.

Might as well introduce the civilian vehicle again
