  1. Extending shouldn't have given an issue. It might be the download itself that gives the wrong data
  2. yeah, the method is to reset the update process so you'd get the right files the next time you download and apply updates. You need to restart sometimes if you get the 'file is being used' error
  3. I notice that there's huge performance spike on full server in CT. I didn't get this much in EKT tbh. Perhaps something in your mod? Also, the mod downloads at 10 kbps. takes about one + minute to download
  4. Something must be wrong with the package then... very well
  5. Did the update fail in the prompt?
  6. Try a reupdate through the launcher. Change the ini files as noted here : viewtopic.php?f=128&p=151230#p151230 Restart, open back the RenX launcher, wait for reupdating
  7. Nah, got a message that it's a scrapped unit
  8. It seems that the game is using a new resource loading method. I load up slow on startup, but maps are fast to load in....
  9. Okay, so I got this weird error that some of the applied files are being used on another process (I closed my RenX beforehand btw). And now when I open the launcher, it says up to date. I still have the update files (which is seemingly in hashcode, so I can't apply them manually), but I can no longer retry the update process. Am I condemned to download beta 5 manually? Edit : Never mind, the solution is to change these in DefaultRenegadeX.ini in UDKGame/Config dir GameVersion="Open Beta 5" GameVersionNumber=5001 to GameVersion="Open Beta 4.02" GameVersionNumber=4009
  10. *whips around* kneel to the devs! lol jk, anyway... Time for Ruud to update his map and get the Titan script synchronized
  11. wait what did I say? I haven't even finished downloading Beta 5 SDK yet
  12. And inf path glitch on lakeside, where is the fix?? D: looking good tho
  13. This is for temporary. I see most people have some trouble installing the maps due to a lot of things such as not understanding the structure of Renegade X folder, so I made this SFX installer to ease your burden. Unfortunately according to Goku's registry search, there is no registry that points to RenX Installation directory... If anyone can make a better installer that will direct people to the install dir immediately, it would be appreciated Anyway, here is my installation, packed and converted with WinRAR into .exe file. It should be usable by everyone, with WinRAR or not Apply patch according to version. Do so cumulatively Version 3 (August 12th 2015) https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing (WARNING) 900 MB file size Version 2 (July 21st 2015) [OBSOLETE] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing Version 2 Patch 2.1 [iNSTALL VERSION 2 FIRST, install rule is same as Version 2] [OBSOLETE] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing Version 2 Patch 2.2 [iNSTALL VERSION 2 AND PATCH 2.1 FIRST, install rule is same as Version 2] [OBSOLETE] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing Version 1 (July 7th 2015) [OBSOLETE] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing Version 1 Patch 1.1 [iNSTALL VERSION 1 FIRST, install rule is same as Version 1] [OBSOLETE] https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B6yEH_ ... sp=sharing To anyone who doesn't install the Renegade X to default folder (C:/Program Files/Renegade X or C:/Program Files (x86)/Renegade X) here's a guide to get the installation right 1. Open the installer 2. You should notice this window here and a box with directory 3. Browse your RenX directory with the Browse... button. Then click OK example : I installed in D:/Program Files (x86)/Renegade X, so I change the directory to example 2 : I installed it in C:/AwesomeGame/FirstPersonShooter/The Renegade X, so I change this to : Hope this installation works for you. See you on the WIP battlefield!
  14. Agent, would this be the thing that stops the content from downloading? It's in UDKEngine.ini ConnectionTimeout=30.0 Feel free to move this on another topic
  15. Uh, well.... he cleared it up in one of the Let's Make a Renegade X Map episodes. The secret is to make 2 landscapes, place them in the same X and Y coordinate and play around with the heights... and paint the visibility to delete some of the unneeded surfaces on both the landscapes. One Landscape forms the tunnel, another forms the hole
  16. *C130 lands* Cabal : Panzercycle ready....
  17. Yeah, I can only think of this certain unit that might have something to do with that gun. He has these certain quote "I am but a student!" "He has taught us well!" "Hail to the great Yuri!"
  18. Yayz! Perhaps a temporary workaround for this is by prompting "Download failed. Please try again later or download the files from your internet browser manually"
  19. I believe UDK is Nvidia favored. I got 20 FPS on my lower spec computer on 1/4 populated server
  20. Requesting 2 last demo recording of Eyes plz? Also, the IRC bot is offline
  21. While first Test Night was quite a success, today's event was really deserted. We've only managed to get up to 6, and it didn't even last long. It's safe to assume that today's quite a failure I hope we can get the server as crowdy, and even crowdier than last week. Remember, we're doing this every Sunday. Hop in when you feel like it
  22. 3k seems alright for the game, Although if it's all boxy you can optimize more to 1000, I believe. I think you can unwrap and stitch it piece by piece, as comfortable-looking as you can
  23. uh well... unwrapping takes patience. In my past experience I textured the high poly version as good as possible without unwrapping it (you're not even gonna put it in-game anyways. Then I project the texture AND the poly detail with the unwrapped low-poly version to form the normal and diffuse map. Projection are not always that easy due to all those raycheck misses, but you're gonna need it for the normal map anyways so make it as great as possible What's the poly count of your tank btw?
  24. I guess it's just a matter of photoshopping. Maybe put some metal texture overlay or such like that...
