  1. Best guess for optimisation is to cull the particles / reduce them, also check for toggleable and dynamic lights, don't use them.

  3. Normally those things spawn at predefined sockets (which aren't in the mesh by default) YOu'll need to add these manually. Just study the code, it'll make sense to you
  4. wat Indeed. I thought I prevented this by making the map very small with an extra entrance to the base front. I never saw a marathon for 2 hours on that map

  8. You're doing awesome work here. Keep it up. However, I'd suggest you don't release a new version every day or 2, we can't keep up with updating the server at that tempo. Also, people aren't that excited to download over and over again.. maybe release once a week?

  10. I think that if you setup a vertex paint brush for the rocks which will have a smooth transition from ice to snow it'll look much better! You can then paint your way out and add ice where needed.
  11. I Guess this has more to do with the DDOS attacks lately. I couldn't find a proper reason why this map would crash. I've added a lot of logging stuff to the kismet, so if it crashes again we can see where. Also fixed some landscape, floating rocks and increased the offline-duration of the OB and AGT from 30 to 45 seconds. Also made it harder to B2B with arty's from the Nod tib field
  12. Yes they're very much used for this game. Also, 3DS Max, Adobe Photoshop and even sketchup have been used to create stuff.
  13. I think you're better off googling how to do UDK scripting. Basically RenX is based upon UDK (Unreal engine 3) So if you know how to do that stuff (there are plenty of tutorials on the web) you're going to understand RenX too.

  15. Played the map yesterday for a good 55 minutes. I discovered many attack rounds and both teams lost some stuff before it eventually ended. Wouldn't consider the map broken. - EMP could use a better indication - EMP last short (too short when you find out it's going to fire to get any action going) - FOG, as Henk mentioned, is indeed very tense suddenly - Generally I like the map! Thanks. I did notice some baserape from arty's in the tib field.. will do something about that. The EMP cannon's kismet is out of place it seems.. it acts weird so to say. I agree on the disable duration, might crank this up a bit.. And the fog, is tweakable I think. Good tip. Thanks for the feedback. I'm glad to see that it plays so well in general, Schmitzenberg and me really put effort into designing the gameplay on this

  20. Thanks for your feedback! I'm also considering removing air vehicles completely. Although I'd like to have a different vehicle in it's place. Still considering what to do then (Hover MRLS is a bit to OP)

  23. I'll put it on the official test server now. Someone keeps shutting the server down that's anoying. (pro-tip; We've found that on Whiteout all the particles take about 28% of the calculation capacity, they're expensive!)
