  1. You're better off waiting for that. I'm gonna make sure we can override building materials next patch, so you can replace the material for a building by your desire. So you can make the sandblend materials already, but I wouldn't bother making a new .u file The problem here is that you need to override all 3 LOD's when doing these kinds of visual things. As the materials change per LOD. So next patch you're gonna have to make a copy of the static mesh with overridden LOD materials to your own package, and replace the static mesh within the actor. I've already tested this and it works. Also; keep in mind that you need to create sandy building materials for each LOD

  7. Hey, I don't know who made that either, but 1. when it's inside the SDK you can use it I suppose. I think you'd be best off by spawning it using a vehicle factory in kismet and assigning a teamnumber to the turret that way. 2. Make a complete version of the map, build lights, paths, geometry, everything. Then save your files, create the .ini file for mine and vehicle limits, upload it to somewhere and place a request in the map release topic including the link! 3. Upload the map to the map repository http://maps.constructivetyranny.com/ 4. Yeah just open up the map I guess?
  8. So heres the feedback: - You're missing a PT level - No endgame camera These tunnels/bridges don't have collision (not any of them) This APC was still in the level for testing I guess? This nice playset needs a material override Bushes have a different color, maybe change it to the grass's color? Tiberium foliage needs re-referencing to have it's material in it's own package, OR wait until the new CNC-Eyes update and it'll be fixed. Right now it's referencing to an old package Same goes for this; I forsee very nice gameplay. Great job!
  9. Update! I did a major overhaul to the map! Changelog; - Removed all moving internal doors in the ship (external ones stay) - Added light automated base defenses - Reworked the base entrance of GDI completely - Slightly reworked the Nod base entrance - Removed a lot of 'clutter' in the middle of the map - Thinned the rain a bit - Tweaked the skydome to have more fancy looks - Reworked the middle blue tiberium area - Fixed the moving cilinders in the ship - Deleted a lot of unnecessary meshes which weren't visible - Opened up the middle area a bit more for vehicles (moved tank blockers) - Fixed some spots where you could get out of the play area at the ship's entrance Images:
  10. Hey guys, I'm organising a small festival for about 500 persons with a team, I'm in charge of the cocktailbar. Last year the tequila sunrise drink didn't sell well, people just didn't like it. So this year, I'm planning on introducing a new cocktail! Do you guys have any tips?   15. We'll include the fixes next patch.. If you would apply them right now you'd modify the renx_game.u so that's a no go for you
  16. I agree on this, Thommy, I think you're doing great work but most of the maps you've made until now are missing that final touch. Maybe if you give more time and attention to smoothing and polishing the maps they'll be better of quality. Try to finish Tomb and Uphill first.. then start thinking of other maps, meanwhile also try to improve TrainingYard please, take critisism from the public to adjust the gameplay and the basic geometry. (for example; I have heard CS plays like shit, so I've tweaked the whole map in order for it to play better) It just takes time.. Design.pdf Maybe you can learn something from it I think you have the basics but again, I think you need that polishing touch on your maps.

  18. True, Next patch I hope to have improved the gameplay on CS and also have the shaders in the patch, so no more compiling (there are some complicated materials in CS that's why it takes so long)
  19. this is because you're building shades for the first time, the time between your 'opentheworld' request and your actual connection is probably more than 30 seconds, this is something server hard coded in UDK to kick you out after 30 sec. It's got nothing to do with the launcher. As for beachhead, I guess I forgot to add the dependant package to the correct folder? I'll look into it. Mostly the mappers have to include their own packages in order for the map to work agent, so I am not sure if we need to make those dependencies visible
