  1. This is by far the strongest counter-argument I've read so far and I wholeheartedly agree with Agent. Here's a little story... During PUGs some people have criticised the team balancing immediately the moment Boxes/jpj and Minji/Poi are on the same team - Here's the thing though, the moment you or anybody on your team boast about any specific persons' ability is the moment you've already decided to give up before even trying to fight them and also may lead to other players avoiding anyone being boasted. Most people have been in that position and there is nothing wrong with complimenting another player, but compliment a player when they're on your team or by F5 privatesay. But it is best to avoid boasting about anybody on the enemy team for your own teams' sake. I attempted an social-experiment of sorts during two different Saturday PUGs, the first PUG I said nothing to my team when I heard some of them boasting about specific players on the opposite team, their team inevitably won. Every. Single. Game. HOW-frikkin-EVER another week I immediately culled anybody on my team from boasting specific players on the opposition and the result was that we won more than we lost. [This has worked in public games as well] Further thoughts: If you boast about other people their chances of victory massively increases, you are actually handing the victory over to them because you glorify their ability and at the same time belittle your own ability as well as the abilities of your entire team. (even if the belittling is unintentional and indirect) So what can you do? Mob them by working as a team and attacking them as an group. As a mob or alone, keep them [and by "them" I of course just mean the enemy team] preoccupied as you could be one of the few people on your team from preventing their goal of destroying your team and your base scenario depending. Here's an example of what happens when you boast the opposition: Your team mate and you are against an player who has been boasted by either one of you or someone else in your team, lets say you've been having an infantry skirmish on one of the maps - though you may die more times than your opposition you have prevented them from diving deeper into your teams' base, but oh no "They're just too good!" somebody cries and one of you [or both] get a vehicle instead and test your mettle out in the field. Now there is nobody to stop the propped-up players on the opposition and they kill an building, your team loses, frustrations rise etc. You [a player] stopped fighting certain enemies because you focused solely on them as individuals ignoring the fact that a majority of their team could have been playing too poorly to compete in other areas Vs your own team - You've seen yourself as an lone individual and disregarded the fact that this is an team Versus [Vs] team game. Nobody was actually correct in their boasting however legitimized it may seem because your team has suddenly lost, you simply lost because you or someone on your team gave up before the battle was over and just had to boast about giving up. You have to keep trying, you may not win every time or most of the time in certain skirmishes but you can at least look out for your team by not boasting about the opposition. "But what about when they snipe us?!!! Your example also your example is lame butts!" My only advice [which has been tried, tested and which has the best results for your team] is to take a risk - Zig-Zag your way to the snipers' position and kill them, weaken them or at the very least distract that gaddamn sniper. If the map allows snipers to get you in your base and the only way to the sniper is via an blockaded by vehicle at the base entrance and the sniper is behind/with them then get an MRLS/Arty and target just that sniper. The moment you and your weapon are in range of the sniper spam 'Q' so your team can know where that nuisance is. You don't have to win to get better, but at least you'll learn more from losing.
  2. URII Steinberg Phantom power via usb-3 Controls Mic input and headphone output Speakers via 3.5mm rear socket AMD Motherboard Update: After unplugging my speakers and only having the usb left plugged in I did not encounter any sound bug over the course of 4 maps. Perhaps (in my case anyway) having both connected creates some conflict within RenX Would it be possible under Audio settings to have an speaker output drop-down list which allows any users' known hardware to be selected in-game? (as well as 'Use default')
  3. Imagine if the light vehicle AA, AI & AT vehicles became additional fly-in's for GDI/Nod after their Weapons Factory/Airstrip have been destroyed? [So in addition to Buggy/Humvee + APCs, there were also the light vehicle variants from this thread]
  4. ...obsession for new idea, growing
  5. Railgun blast sound lasts a little too long, might be better if the reverb fade-out is longer
  6. It'd also break canon massively to have an custom character class
  7. Alternatively, enabling an 1 player-choice to fabricate their own class of infantry - depending on what you have decides how fast or how slow your character is, but you would only essentially be an element of surprise. By default it could be aptly named 'Elite' in its target box and cost 1500credits, certain weapons or armour types attach an particular weight. Like building an load-out XCOM style but without the fancy visuals. low-budget, the mechanic alone is aplenty. The only way this could really work is if RenX had an account system and the player could create an preset, otherwise character profiles would have to be save locally and that just wouldn't be gameplay-safe at all. Some headhacking of named characters and swapping them with GDI Officer and Nod Officer heads... Could also stick Raveshaw's head on the Mobius body's and have an C&C Dr.Kliener! Fantastic.
  8. If ya want custom load-outs, ya cants have any class-system! How can ya have ya class-system, if you want to have custom load-outs? Just doesn't work.
  9. VP prevents stalemates. Map choice decide stalemates. If there is an Stalemate on ANY map which does not have AGT/Obby then it is typically an interesting game (or overcrowded) If balance somehow splits teams perfectly that every player is playing at 100% or the same range throughout their counter-balanced rivals I'd be more impressed with this than anything else for at least 5 minutes
  10. If there is a way to undermine the security of this through .rar you've shared that may pose a problem This is really neat and would be better off being pushed in the dev's faces than publicly, as Sarah stated
  11. If it doesn't require Steam and went solely on the previous match stats every time, that'd still make it really useful as intended without having to create a backlog of every players' ability. Match-by-match basis team balancing could work quite nicely too If it isn't compulsory for players to use Steam for this to work that's awesome! If its a match-by-match basis as well as pre-existing steamuser stats, that's doubly-awesome Edit: I don't see how total wins/losses should factor into an individual player in an team game as far as team balancing goes, 100 wins to 20 losses doesn't necessarily mean a player is really good but instead that they were fortunate enough to be on the winning side. The players score, infantry kills, vehicle kills, building kills, successful beacons & commander wins = Basing balance on each individual players' successes is probably an better formula for balance Actual games won/lost and deaths really don't need to factor into balance, basically.
  12. This is the only thing I'd ever agree with But only because I have a bias towards burst-fire in any game I hate burst-fire mode on guns Except pistols
  13. You're supposed to stand still and get healed, like a tank but duck like a man from that sniper shot which inevitably takes out your rep-guy Then, ya die
  14. So on 64-bit RenX the Purchase Terminal hangs when on Char/Item/Veh select screens HOWEVER this completely stopped the moment the sound-bug occurred Downside is I had no sound but the upside is the Purchase Terminal screens worked flawlessly [no hanging] So could this possibly be an two-birds-one-stone scenario? Fixing one potentially fixing the other? [Ideally] Food for thought
  15. Either HIHIHI or irs have worked on Passenger-controlled-turret mutator... Somebody is
  16. There was once an nearly 3-day run on CNC-Under in the earlier days. A long stalemate.
