  1. Sorry, but to come now with, "people just need to explain it to newbs" is just silly. We've tried that for the past 5 years, it did not work. Better to enhance the new system, maybe by adding some more mine zones on each map, where previously accepted mines were laid. And also maybe include the personal mines into the 2 mine limit of the AT mines - so you can plant either 2 AT or 2 proxy or one of each (but only with the corresponding char of course) - shouldn't be too many additional mines but will still allow some freedom.

  3. Seems like a hardware problem - software crashing the whole system sounds like windows 98. Have you tried stress testing your cpu/gpu?
  4. Wow, that is actually impressive. It's the biggest daily print newspaper in Austria. (although qualitywise it's more like Daily Sun or smth)^^
  5. I understand why its happenning, but it's still not logical to a "regular" user, who doesnt know about this and won't understand it failing without any reason
  6. Yeah its normal, but if you need 10 GB free on C:\ to install something on D:\ its not very logical to the user. (Also as it usually fails without a message)
  7. Is it possible that you dont have lots of space on C:\ ? The installer is a bit stupid, as it needs the space to extract the files (which get deleted lateron)
  8. We ve all seen teams bouncing back from losing one or all buildings but one - but this happens mostly later in the game. If one team loses a building in the first 5-10 minutes, the game is over for this team. (or it will drag on forever, till finally the other team suceeds) But, what if Buildings couldnt't take more Permadamage than, say 50% in the first 10 Minutes (configurable) ? The leading team will still benefit from a huge VP- and Credit- Advantage but the other team still has a possibility to catch up and bounce back. I dont know if there is any lore to make a good reason for this in- game, like a shield generator that goes down after 10 minutes, but i think it would make a lot of games for both the leading and the losing team much more fun. What do you think?

  10. After reading this thread and every opinion on it, the main message for me is: People hate getting spawnkilled and sniped right in their base. I also quit games like this, whereas i keep playing in games where i know i will lose, but where i can still achieve something. (because i dont get killed in seconds anytime I leave cover) Especially when playing as GDI, playing baselocked against strong snipers is just not fun. (as NOD I can at least try to ambush them) For me the obivous solution is: nerf the snipers, as they are far to powerful in comparison to other units. And you can't tell me that they have to be that strong to suppress repairs, I have played lots of games without snipers, where the repairguys were killed anyway. Different possibilites to achieve this: (choose one or all of them) Remove strong sidearm (only let them keep silent pistol) Disallow scoping while moving. Less damage Better visibility where the sniper shot from More sniper reload time
  11. Initial Mines (that can be disarmed by everyone) in all building entrances would be a great help in this regard, as very often buildings get killed very early which gives a major advantage to one faction.
  12. How much free space on C.\ ? (In older versions this was also significant)
  13. I guess the auto AFK kicker was disabled to make it easier to fill up the server. Maybe it can get another option to be only active when there are more than x people on the server. The problem for me are not people that are afk for some time during the match (because they will com back 95% at the time), but the ppl that are afk since start. Because especially in small games every person counts and if play 6 vs 6 and one team has 3 afks, this i just tedious. Couldn't it be made, that people only join a team after after agreeing to a overlay box (like that box right now on AllNoobs) It is like that on many other Multiplayer games.

  15. Yes it is ok, but right now, an SBH commander can kill GT without any possiblity to deny it. Even 2 hotties right beside it to repair it after the first hit are not enough. Should be at least a cooldown long enough to give the other team time to repair it
  16. Maybe also Cruise Missiles could be included into this cooldown. 2 successive Missiles on a GT are impossible to counter right now

Something which i wanted to post as a new thread for a long time: The voice announcer is, especially, with more than 40 players often behind the events in the game and thus almost useless : (yes i know its like old ren but still it could be better) Some of the voice samples use redundant wording and should be shortened (Example: Nod Tiberium Refinery/Silo, GDI Weapons Factory.., The extra long Silo Voice sample which is outdated, Nuclear Strike Beacon deployed, Nuclear Strike approaching...) The "building is under attack" is far too early (even if only 1 shot with soldier) and almost always useless as it is often in the cooldown when the real attack happens. Would be better above a threshold (>5% or something) Maybe remove the building repaired messages, because everyone that cares will take a look and for everyone else its just another voice spam. Announcer of produced vehicles should be only heard in base (or if it is your own vehicle)

  19. Still seems like a hardware or driver problem to me - never seen anything like that (unless i had faulty/overheated/too overclocked cpu/gpu)
  20. Are you sure, that the temperature is really the cause for the bluescreen? Have you tried it with default voltages (not undervolted)
  21. Or maybe the ob and agt just hits vehicles when the pp is down to allow sneaking? (and even them with lower damage) I also dont think its a good idea to just get a person to afk repair the ob/agt (and this can also be achieved with a second pc)

I voted other: Mining System (Overmining, mine placement, lots of lost matches/players just by bad mining) Ppl leaving tanks to repair as GDI (>MRLS) and not understanding that locked tanks don't lock against the enemy Why even after years, we still cannot give Noobs just 1 sentence of explanation about 1. and 2. builtin into the game. (yes i know, we can chat everyone up, but at this point it is just annoying to do that every second public match) Snipers too powerful IMHO (Headshot Multiplier, any paid unit >200 should not get killed in 1 shot, when full - especially up close with no scope, that is still just silly and annoying) As i understand it, their main role is to kill the repairs from behind the tanks, and not just go on a killfest the whole game, which is their role mainly. (maybe improve their power against eng./adv, eng. and weaken against everyone else) 64 players are too much for most maps - IMO best gameplay 20-50 players
  23. What's worse is, that the ingame settings almost never save the settings. Especially when trying to click "Apply" in the Audio settings. Is this a known bug?
