  1. In order to get Level 9 bots in-game you either need a server with them enabled or find DefaultRenegadeXAISetup.ini(located in RenegadeX/UDKGame/Config) and change bCheetozBotzEnabled to true, they work normally in skirmish.
  2. It's so good to be back home... But there's something I'll miss... Like saving the world from dying.... Or maybe just resolving a few unusual problems with common methods... Saving a race from extinction? Done. Helping a travelling mischievous merchant who is also a rabbit with his deeds? Done...4 times. Persuade the kids in magic academy to go to school? Can do that. ...I miss these kinds of games...where you are not a chosen hero... But a stranger who helps to fill the world with happiness... Legend of Mana - still my most favourite JRPG. Despite the gameplay flaws its artstyle, music and world building is wonderful.
  3. Those rains won't stop an entire nuclear power plant from working unlike hot weather which heated up the water to 28C near said PP. Rains are still my most favourite weather.
  4. Since Renegade X doesn't have it's own ID for a game in Steam, it uses the one from UDK by default(UE3 dev tool with which RenX was made).
  5. Since large problems you've listed have been done to death in last 2 weeks except the problem with American playerbase being too small I'll try to get answers about smaller problems: 1.Player Voting. I would disagree on restarting the map. When one of your buildings gets destroyed in first few minutes it's either a quick game of losing or long game of stalemates, which isn't fun(we're playing videogames for fun after all), that's where restarting might give a fair chance for everyone. But those votes pass rarely anyway... Changing maps would be better to leave for moderators of course, but remember: there might be a time when none of mods will be online or sitting on IRC. Votes to change the map pass seldom too. And surrender leave for team. Not every team has a commander, not everyone is willing to take that role(some people like me can't even do anything as a commander which is why I hate being one) and since we have democracy in RenX votes, why would an opinion of 1 player suddenly outweight an opinion of entire team? 2.Sound bug. The problem with this bug is located in the engine itself(Unreal Engine 3). We still haven't found the root of the problem since we don't have people who knows how UE3 works with audio. It will take a lot of time to fix this.... 3.Stuck spots. If you found a spot where someone/something can become stuck, make a screenshot of it and post it on Bug Thread, it will certainly be fixed in next 1-2 patches. And I don't recall any problems with venicles outside of bug with Stealth Tanks which was fixed long ago. 4.Invisible walls/fences. Most of them were placed in order to not allow player to get out of bounds or from B2B, but I've gotta agree that some of them are questionable indeed(those invisible walls near silo on Eyes still annoy me). The only solution is to try to talk about specific invisible wall placements on Feedback and Bug Reports and try to find an alternative fix for the place. 5.Roof access on every map. Those ramps were made for those buildings to have an access to the roof without flying venicle in the first place. They would not make sence on non-flying map except for....giving people one more place to nuke a building(except Hand of Nod and Airstrip where you can get into the building with the help of ramps)? And some work has already been done on lift in Airstrip(example: map CNC-Paradise), but it's still looks rough. Would be good to see in Airstrip on flying maps. 6.Map Variety. I would want to see something more than a cycle of Field-Under-Walls-Islands too, but the main feature of those maps is that they are simple in design and easy to understand, which big maps tend to fail sometimes. There some development going with making a mutator which would give a map selection based on current number of players.
  6. About lags: RenegadeX wasn't made for 64 player servers. So the game usually starts to increase ping and FPS starts to get lower at 40+ player count from lots of venicles(they are handled by server thanks to UE3) and just having too many players. Myself I've chosen Other option in the vote. It mostly comes down to one thing: bring back Field X Night. There's so few either big or night good maps in RenX, Field X Night goes in both categories for me. And also the fact that we need tutorial. Both loading screens doesn't explain much information that is needed for playing.

    Walls Only

Islands is Nod favoured too, better take something like Eyes, Cliffside or Arctic Stronghold.
  8. EMP grenades(aliies' or enemy's one) will decloak any stealth unit(SBH and Stealth Tank)in it's AOE(area of effect).
  9. By lore Russia was on GDI side at First Tiberium War(Renegade is happening at the end of it btw), so it would kinda contradict logic...
  10. While on big maps it's a great stealth detector tool, on smaller ones I think it would certainly help with killing some infantry that lost their ways on field. And I kinda wish it would reduce the number of SBHs running everywhere.
  11. Да, это можно увидеть даже по номеру обновления - 5.401= 4.01= первое апреля. Да и большинство изменений просто абсурдны.
  12. @Space Этот патч - первоапрельская шутка. Его никогда не будет.
  13. Damaging buildings - yes, repairing them - no. The best ways to get most VP in my experience are (Note: all strategies require you to stick to them from the start of the match): 1. Shooting the building constantly - Usually with this strategy you can get Heroic at 40-50 min mark. 2. Repairing venicles - Repairing gives +2 VP. If you repair someone and he gets a kill, you will get some bonus VP. With this strategy you can get Heroic at 50-80 min mark, it all depends on Assist bonus VP. 3. Killing infantry - From 1 to 10 VP + 2 VP for a headshot and some extra for an assist. You can get Heroic at the 40-60 min mark if you good at killing. Requires some good practice at getting headshots either as sniper or anti-infantry. 4. Killing venicles - Killing them yildes more VP than from killing infantry and gives a bonus VP for damaging them. The best ones to kill are Mammoths, Orcas/Apaches(if you're not in one of them). Usually takes 50-80 min to get Heroic. if you're playing as anti-tank infantry, don't forget about EMP grenades - they give +2 VP for each venicle that got into the explosion, they affect every venicle in the game except stationary ones (it's pretty tricky to hit a flying one with EMP, but doable) + it disarms any mines and it gives you 1VP for each one!
  14. In Tiberian Dawn, Dune 2000 (and possibly Red Alert too) if you had low power it would damage your buildings, but VERY slowly, so it wouldn't do much trouble if you didn't have power for like 5 min.
  15. It's the fact that it killed so many people(SOMEHOW) and gave all credit for all kills to you is strange.
  16. Russian translation beta-testing gone slightly wrong. Anyway, great job @Murica! Fuck yeah! on translation!
  17. This year had a lot of moments in it - some great, some not and some outright bizzare. For me it was an almost great year: lots of games were fully completed (since I'm completionist), I've found this awesome game community, but many great people who made our childhoods died. So how was it for you all?
  18. Myself I have never played it, but after looking at the game on youtube and trying to find information about it I've concluded this: the game was released at the wrong time(at the same year RA2 got an expansion) with some medium-heavy problems with crashes, poor pathfinding system and some balance issues. There was actually an another Dune RTS in making: Dune Generations, that was cancelled due to Cryo Interactive gone bankrupt in June 2002.
  19. For me it would be either Dune 2000 on PS1 or C&C Generals. Dune 2000 was my childhood game for a long time ('For the Baron!') and that's why I just want to play any RTS on a gamepad, while Generals provided me with lots of cool and fun mods to play. I hope those remasters will have gamepad support. And I still have never played a single multiplayer match in any RTS.
  20. They can buy venicles and infantry(somehow even without Bar/Hon), they aim gets better with difficulty(at Max they basically have aimbots), they can repair venicles, but not structures(this doesn't include Guard towers/Turrets because they are technically venicles). Problems include: they can stuck in WF/Air in venicles, they leave their venicles when they have 10% or less armor, sometimes they leave their venicle when it's EMP'ed. That's all I know at least.

    Can't open editor

I think it's because of one typo made in ini file(foled of SDK) \UDKGame\Config\DefaultEngineUDK.ini, try to comment, a.k.a end with ; line +ModEditPackages=RenX_Extra
  22. 2 years ago I was looking for information about C&C mods on C&C wiki and stumbled upon RenX page. At the time I couldn't play multiplayer because download mirrors sucked(really badly) and so I've played Black Dawn, was inpressed and forgot about the game until this year's February. Thank you devs for fixing those mirrors!
  23. Basically Saturday's PUG for me and UE3 in a nutshell(God I love this bug).
  24. One of the older bugs: You can lock-on on Obelisk's crystal(when locked-on it doesn't show up red circle where it was supposed to be)
