  1. Whoah the video is going fast! This isnt actual gameplay speed but the playback speed has been amplified by 1.5x or so
  2. using win7 64bit, bought it because I don't like win8. Win7 is imo better in other aspects. I also think win8 is created with touchscreen in mind rather than normal PC use with keyboard and mouse. 8.1 changed it I know, but still ... I've spend 90 euro for win7 and not likely upgrade it to any other in the near future.
  3. I like Shadowplay too, I've recorded some game sessions now on 1080p. The problem I'm having now is that Shadowplay creates an mp4 file format resulting in a max of 3.8gb filesize. Length of the video is between 11 and 13 minutes per file. Shadowplay automatically creates a new file so nothing is lost, but it's not a single video file which is anoying. I either need a program to combine those files into a new format or use a different recorder. My results are the same as JoblessHD though, VERY seemless and FPS is constant at 60-61 (except for the loading screens, those fluctuate between 20 and 30.)
  4. Pressing [Enter] or clicking to buy a class will also add the left-hand options such as timed C4 or grenades. When using the shortcut keys when buying classes, it seems to not work and I also get this problem that way.
  5. I actually have 2 sets of CDs with 2 product codes. The one I bought back at release, well, the CD holder in the package was too tight I presume, it cracked my CD enough for it to be unreadable. The 2nd set I got with a package with Red Alert 2 + expansion and Tiberium Sun + expansions. Thankfully they came in paper/plastic see-through CD holders to they are fairly undamaged.
  6. Yes! definately! original ren had the 2 variants as well. Flying and non-flying. Not to say that ren-x must be an exact copy but still, it is a reason why Another is, well, without aircraft we get a bit more ground-combat and tactics going, rather than flying in, bailing high above the ground parachuting in to kill buildings. (As Nod particularly handy to bring in SBHs)
  7. Ohhh nice to know ... funny this stuff happens in "silence" so the users are unaware they are being spied upon. Recording what data? entire machine or just the torrents?
  8. Thanks for posting this JoblessHD! Quite a while ago I'd like to film what I do but didn't want to pay much for programs like Fraps that lack in quality. Thanks to Kenz3001's replies, I now found out that I was able to record stuff with the Geforce Experience shadowplay thingy. Thanks a bunch!
  9. Hi! Today GDI rushed Nod and left behind an APC for us (Nod) to use. When we filled it up (I was the last to enter) took 2 seconds for it to show only 2 names, as if only 2 players were in the APC, yet no one bailed. The driver was almost in GDI base before noticing his seemingly empty APC and made a U-turn. Just when I noticed he didn't enter GDI base, I bailed and so did the others. This causes a lot of confusion when you think your APC is full but shows as empty (showing 3 rows of ....)
  10. This happened to me too and yes, I bought an SBH aprox 10 seconds before this spectator mode happened
  11. 1: Download and install a torrent program if you don't have any e.g. http://www.utorrent.com/ 2: Download the torrent file from the downloadlink http://renegade-x.com/download.php --> Ren-X Official Torrent 3: Start the torrent program (e.g. utorrent) and within that program open the Ren-X Official Torrent file NOTE: For ease in step 3, step 2 should be downloaded to an easy-to-find folder e.g. Downloads folder or Desktop for you to navigate in step 3. Step 4: Install the game Step 5: Enjoy!
  12. Weapon slots: 1-Sidearm 2-Primary 3-Timed C4 4-Remote C4 5-Proxy mines 6-Ion/Nuke/Airstrike Hotwire/Techy getting grenades removes the proxy mines while retaining the timed C4 while other classes lose their timed C4 for getting grenades. Why not simply put EMP nades/AT-mines at slot 7 (if there is one) but removes the ability to hold Proxy mines/grenades for Hotwire/Techy and Timed C4/grenades for the other classes with the addition of not being able to hold a nuke/ion. The result would be that normal classes dont hold more than 4 weapons (sidearm, primary, EMP/AT and airstrike) and the hotwire/tech dont hold more than 5 weapons (sidearm, repairtool, timed C4, EMP/AT and airstrike) NOTE: the discussion was about nukes combined with EMP effectiveness on mines, hence airstrikes would still be possible
  13. I'd say that the player list in the right-hand upper corner of the screen is only indicative of the teams progression and activity. It's importance is more important in timed game than marathon games as score matters. I find that this list is fine and small enough for this purpose, while the text on the left should be a bit bigger. If you are defending and see some team mates rushing to the front and die at the end of the tunnel (by seeing their names and killed by...) you get an idea of the threat ahead. The communication should also be easier to read, so this fond should be bigger. To compensate for the intrusion of the view, it's presence is limitted to 5 seconds or so per message. For team communication, this setup is a bit scewed as you cant always read what others are writing, simply because you didnt see it due to the heat of the battle you are in.
  14. +1 A well-placed shot to the engine (as the pilot is too protected in his armoured cage) will make it stall and crash. Well, thats the realism. BUT Ramjets are high-powered sniper rifles and should be able to pierce armor like butter, in that sense, a sniper should be able to kill a pilot or knock off the apache tail. In any case, sniper vs aircraft is still more effective than missles/rockets are.
  15. But in order to throw the grenade, the SBH decloaks and is easily spotted. It still requires 3-4 SBHs for a C4 infiltration to than end.

    Question

What do you guys prefer in a match? OR Option 1 was due to the fact that Nod was not able to mount succesfull SBH infiltrations for 10-15 minutes as GDI hunkered down a bit after destroying strip. SBH-nukes were anticipated. I don't think this was a proper stalemate though as Nod was getting funds on a regular basis while GDI was drying up. Yet the impatient people still insisted on the vote-spam. So, here it is, what is more prefered? As I'm one of the oldies that played renegade without a voting system, which is why all this vote-spam is getting on my nerves.
  17. thanks! that did it! blood splattering on the walls when killing silly SBHs standing still in GDI base
  18. I noticed on some vids that the chemsprayer when killing, turns the enemy into a skeleton, yet I havent seen this happen when I'm doing it. Is there a setting for it? In Beta 1 I saw video's of the same with chemsprayers and volt autorifle but didn't pay much attention, but thought to question about it now
  19. I am a fan of grenades, especially in tunnel areas. More often than not I switch the timed C4 for grenades, to spam explosions from a distance without the use of a grenade launcher. Aside from that, I do think EMP grenades should fit in the same slot as normal grenades. I sometimes use it as a smokescreen to cover engineers from defusing nukes/ions
  20. It will be in Beta 6 I think, because they secretly have been perfecting Beta 4 and for Beta 5 maps like Under and Glacier are almost finished.
  21. I tried this out and 1 important thing to note: you cant enter a server afterwards so you must exit and re-enter the game to play
  22. 154 players online according to the launcher server list now.
  23. Nice! Any other maps under development with base defenses? Oh and iTweek, nice ref rush there lol Nod was a bit stupid though, didnt seeing you in that tuns when they ran passed to strip
  24. Indeed. Top 3 should initiate and accept surrender for it to be able to succeed. But it would still need a majority though. Top3 + totalling 51%. ORRR to make it more complicated: Total team score (based on present players as midgame people might leave but teamscore is unaffected) for a vote to pass, 51% of that total score must accept the surrender. (lets say 20v20, total score of 40.000, majority would be 20.400+ score needed to accept the surrender. Sometimes it needs the top 3, sometimes the top 5 or 2 top5 players and the remaining 10 bottom players, to reach the 51%+) I'm in favor of this because sometimes I'm in that top3 So, it's also a bit beneficial to me personally
  25. 90% of the core players, yes, might be right, but recently people joined to check this game as it's advertised as a free FPS. So I'd assume around 50% are oldschool renegaders. When RenX first came out, original renegade counted perhaps 60-80 players, 100 at peak hours? At any given time? Well, thats judging from the server list ingame so I dunno how accurate it is. Assuming they ALL play renX now, thats perhaps 50% of the 144 I counted yesterday.
