@EKT-Kaiser hmmm that depends on the map. on most of the maps the harvies are the first goals for both teams. Having a fast starting harvy can be both advantage or disadvantage On maps like Islands / Complex / Fort it's more critical if you have a fast 1st drop or not (very unlikely that starting harvies get destroyed on these 3 maps) But whats more interesting are the drop->harvesting->drop times There are quite a few maps where 1 fraction has a fast harvy drop at start but the drop->harvesting->drop time is worse than on the other fraction. Though this is pretty theoretical as usually 1 harvy gets destroyed all the time.

Hey, I want to start a Forum discussion about the actual Canyon design / balancing. Some weeks (maybe months) ago we had a TeamSpeak chat about Canyon after a Saturdays PUG. Maybe some attendees remember. Even though Canyon used to be a GDI map (due to the open base design on Nod side.. meds / ion -> gameover) I think that it's now a 85% Nod map (new inf exit to field / silo). Nod can easily pin down GDI with arties from the airstrip. Even if Nod loses the harvy, they can buy Arties & Techies to counter any incoming med rush. Arties are cheaper than meds & deal more damage. Though you need more teamwork with arties (dedicated healers etc.). When Nod gets Flamers GDI usually lost. Their base entrance is so narrow and 2-3 flamers [with arty support] can esily destroy any medium tank coming out of GDI base. You can place e.g. 3 arties there, with good cover for healers as well. This is clearly B2B [barracks] but for some reason it hasn't been dealt with so far. So I think it would be nice to give GDI a proper - balanced - base entrance. This is just a suggestion I'm no mapper! Feel free to post your own ideas here! Regards, Sn4ke PS: @kenz3001 if you don't want to redesign the GDI base entrance you should close this topic. Not exactly. But lemme get to this below: @CampinJeff & @Quincy picked the teams and Team2 was unhappy about balance issues from the start. But I don't want to dwell on this. Team2 lost the first 2 matches due to bad communication and poor choice of maps. And: bad morale. Dear @Ryz I really appreciate your efforts to help @Schmitzenbergh with the commanding duty with several suggestions etc. But: Unfortunately you have a very demoralizing way to put things. Honestly, I don't want to insult you or start shit talk on you. Please don't get me wrong! But with you on our team our team morale was below zero. It's always good to have someone with the courage to state the plain truth. But there's a huge difference in doing that and demoralizing a team. And you did the latter until you left. And for some of us it's really hard to take part in the TeamSpeak chat with someone dominating the TeamSpeak like that. @ThommyK0104 I asked @Fffreak9999 about it, but he said it's easier to change the mine limit as mapper than creating a mutator for it. Only problem is that everyone got to re-download the map again in that case.

Alright Illum, here we go: when you change tabs ingame and tab back again some floor graphics vanish nothing to worry about, this only happens to me (lowest graphic settings) Sandstorm sound... hmm, think I already mentioned that to you. the sandstrom sounds like waves breaking on a shore Path suggestion: You've blocked the map very nicely with collisions, but why did you block of that area behind the Silo (same with the other Silo)? Everyone knows about the unhealthy effects of Tiberium and you could open another one-way inf path for non-chemical soldiers to the right side. hmmm and which graphic setting do I have to use to see the sandstorm? ^-^ Regards, Sn4ke

yeah we know that roof jumping is possible by default. but as it's so easily avoided with some extra collisions mappers should prevent that. There's always a nag who wants to win b illigitimate means. HoN jumping is only possible with stankz (at least if you are alone) so it shouldnt be any problem, but jumping from stank on top of barracks could get annoying. and unless there is an admin playing at the same time / seeing the glitch... it takes to long to do anything about it -> could ruin some players fun. what about the harvy timing? intended?

hmm dunno if it was bad luck or just coincidence but for some reason you rushed on exactly the same side as we did with Gunners. And if I remember correctly the Gunners started their attack before the stankz did, so you should have known about our position

Some maps - especially those from the big map-pack - are out of date. reason is simple: they are either WIP or just have been released. As you can see in the Developement section the mappers are updating their maps frequently, as do the testers / devs with their bug reports / general suggestions Walls_Snowing was released separately by Thommy (with the peremission of Henk) on Monday:

uhm, don't agree with that. losing Refinery can be the ultimate facepunch of the match - ofc it depens on the cash situation. if you lose it within the first 10 minutes its.... ****** losing bar / HoN is also one of the worst things that can happen (depends on the map ofc /amount of players etc etc blabla ^^)

Update: T.O. found another missing collision Update #2: HoN roof seen this glitch on Xmountain some months ago, but so far I wasn't able to reproduce it. Should be able on any non_flying map (unless the mapper added collisions) Update #3: weird collision bug (been tracking that one for AGES) dunno what to think about that bug. Experienced it a couple of times now, on almost every map. First time on Lakeside. It's some kind of collision bug. But I think it's only POV related. For T.O. I was still on top of the HoN. It's rather hard to reproduce that bug, it usually works with a vehicle & any collision, then jump upon it, but it's hard to describe it good

hmmm, all in all well done, but you need to rework most of the boulder collisions. Most of them are "useless" for glitchers, except to annoy the enemy or lure them at the other side of the base for distraction, but 1 collision glitch will get a certain building (Ion) will upload the screens within the next hour I guess PS: once again I tried to get out of the map. failed again ############################################################## EDIT: so here are the screenshots... Floating grass etc.: [T.O. screens] GDI side GDI side Nod side Stuck spots: you can get out of there by JUMPING/CROUCHING (but not all the times) 100% stuck, there is absolutely nothing but suicide / getting killed / enter a nearby vehicle to get out of there Infantry path vehicle collision near GDI WF: This is no real bug, but some Nod players might get surprised by GDI vehicles rolling over them here: usually the collision is in front of the tank barriers. so GDI vehicles could surpirse Nod infantry here Harvy routes / speed / harving cycle time / whatever you want to call that: 1. Dump: Nod harvy dumps ~23s before GDI harvy starts to dump 3. Dump: GDI harvy has a delay (to Nod harvy) of ~ 54 seconds Nod-Harvy-Route: ~ 2:50 min GDI-Harvy-Route: ~ 3:08 min Usually the harvesters get destroyed a lot, so this is a bit theoretical, but... if the Nod harvy survives they have an enormous time advantage (at least in my opinion ) Was that intended or not? By killing harvesters the team kind of balance the different harvy times anyway & a slow / fats harvy at start can both have advantages / disadvantages (attacking / defending them) Bad boulder collision - nuke / ion glitch: Ok, I masked the screens above as they are not that interesting. You can glitch nukes / ions into the boulders but they can't hit a building. BUT... of couse they can be used for distraction / annoy the enemy team... and on all the posted screens nukes / ion vanish COMPLETELY. you can't see them (not even the blink) but you can hear em... though some players have problems with that Last but not least: Ion -vs- Airstrip: uhm yeah... I chose on of the bigger boulders so the Ion gets 100% out of sight... but... yeah. I died, Strip survived Next try: partly visible - Nod players can disarm it but have to hold position / disarm the beacon from a certain point of view... Kabooooom! to enjoy the Magic Mushrooms you need to enable * Post Process Effects* ! Regards, Sn4ke

if I think of the Saturday PUG Whiteout match... well.... you got our WF.. noone needs strip / wf to win all you need in RenX is $ & Bar / HoN (at least on most map)

hmm, yesterday evening I've downloaded the new City version & Walls_snowing. unzipped -> moved to RenX directory.... started RenX -> CRASH!!! dunno what happened.. and I doubt that the maps had anything to do with it... I fixed the game by resetting it (rebooted and everything but RenX wouldnt start without a reset ) there wasn't even an error msg, just the black starting screen (after you have the small RenX Loading Screen on your desktop) with the hourglass (win10 circle thing)
