    Tornaments

    Always liked the idea of tournaments in RenX,be it squad tournaments or sniper tournaments. For the squad tournament,players would form squads of 6 members and play against other squads in a league or knockout form(or maybe both depending on the number of squads participating.Maybe the 2 squads would have to pick a time that suit both of them. The members of the winning squad would have some kind of tag or signature near their names on the forums maybe ,as tournament winners. As for the sniper tournament,teams of 2 members battle it out against each other in a knockout form(winner is decided in one match by higher score).Teams will have to be drawn randomly in a tournament tree.The matches will not be played at the time of the pug. would be cool if enough people are up for either

  3. Yeah,this topic would've been irrelevant if RenX had more players. Personally I prefer RenX to have another clan or community and their own server,and have clan(community) wars between them and CT,and if they manage to fill their server for at least twice a week,they would definitely survive and not die quickly.This was possible in beta 4 and before,I don't know if it's possible to do with the amount of players the game has right now,still worth a try.Ofc if there are enough people willing to create this new community. PUGs are great and may have more quality than clan wars,but IMHO clan/community wars are more intense and beating the other clan sure feels better than beating Ezequiel's or Tony's team,having more clans will keep more of those players that play the game for the first time,then play it a few more times and then quit.At least that's how I felt about EKT/TmX when I first played RenX.

Glad you went into more details about this than I ever did @ Radeon3 I already voiced my concerns about this matter here and on the CT forums.I can understand both arguments,but I also believe there are other solutions.Since the idea of splitting players into 2 servers(when they are above 50) is not happening any time soon,make all the servers' player limit at 30,and when the first server fills up,mods switch to another server and try to fill it,filling a 30 player server should be easier,at least that 's what I used to do when I was a mod,but I can understand there were more players playing the game back then,I don't know if its possible right now,we could try it for a few days at least,I'm willing to help fill the second server.

    As terrible as they were, old field and pre beta 3 mesa had some likable things in them,I'm with the idea of bringing them back in addition to the new ones,well maybe remove them from the map voting list when the players are above 30/40 (if such a thing is possible)

    While sneaking I wasted many building kills because I was trying to start a vote announcing how I'm about to destroy a certain building also,I actually preferred Slifer .. gg

  10. Happened to me on walls on Ref & Wep's side a lot as well,the interesting thing is the more laggy the game is,the more it happens.

  14. it is a lot different when a character with 2 timed and 2 remotes sneaks into a building than when a character with only 1 timed,because if the mine count drop doesn't alert you,you're building is done for unlike raveshaw and sydney where there is enough time to respond (for exmaple GDI/NOD power plant is under attack is heard way early,unless you mean the base is empty from defenders) The point is to remove one of the sniper classes,they serve the same role but with different damage.Also soloing a building with a decent chance of not being caught using a 350 character(that also excels at other jobs) is OP ,wait did I just say OP guess I caught the virus.This way,the pleasure of soloing a building is not stolen,just made a bit more expensive. that's why I said : remove their ramjet rifle and give them another weapon which suits their new role

There were suggestions from the Devs during beta 4 testing about making Havoc/Sakura the commando units by giving them 2 timed C4(but no remotes),but that suggestion didn't actually see light and 1000 snipers ended up with 2 remote C4s only. Thinking about it,why not make them actually the commando units with 2 timed C4 and 2 remotes and remove their ramjet rifle and give them another weapon which suits their new role,a weapon that is -weak(or average) against heavy armor vehicles (light tank,med tank,flame tank,mamoth tank etc) -strong against light armor vehicles (mrls,arti,buggy,humvee ....) -have the same range as the pic or slightly lesser range -that weapon shouldn't be a like sniperrifle/ramjet/pic,not 1 bullet every 2/3 seconds weapon,it should be something like patch's weapon(forgot its name) maybe I mean if you want to instantly~ solo a building,it is gotta be with the most expensive infantry not with a 350 credits technician. and since Havoc/Sakura are the new commando units,then hotwire/technician should no longer be able to solo a building(remove 1 or 2 timed C4),and to compensate for that maybe -give them a carbine rifle -maybe give them 4 remotes(they can still solo a building that way,if that building had a certain amount of perma-damage) -if not 4 remotes then just 2 remotes and 1 timed -and maybe slightly increase their speed this way technicians/hotwires are more about defending and repairs/fieldrepairs but still useful in taking out building(to an extent) and finally the 500 sniper or should I say the only sniper,with the 1000 sniper no longer a thing -give them the ability to 1 headshot kill 1000 infantry back,although keep the body damage the same to all infantry -increase their speed to 100 -increase their price to 750 or 800 or something like that -the sniper rifle shoots a beam like bullet(like the ramjet),maybe make its color red for BHS and yellow for Deadeye(so it can be easily seen where the sniper is shooting from) with the latest patch,snipers are easier targets now when scoping because they can no longer sprint So,what do you think about these suggestions?and what are yours?

  20. yeah ,great idea 60 players server is cancer IMHO,as to the idea of voting for maps for each server,maybe have it in the vote menu after the map ends so that you can vote for which server to join and pick which map to play on that server,good idea if not everyone wants to play lakeside for example though I'm not sure if what I said above is even possible to do. Personally,I prefer games with 10-15 players at most on each team,but 40 players server is still ok. EDIT: didn't read Henk's post
  21. I was talking about the sound when the mine is being disarmed(when someone is firing with the repairgun at the mine),not the sound you hear at the moment the mine disappears.
  22. Maybe remove their 2 timed c4 ,let them have 4 remote c4 if possible ,and see how it works. Otherwise,just give them a silenced pistol instead of the heavy one and make the mine disarm sounds possible to hear from anywhere in the base,if possible.
  23. This is true, for future reference. Can you launch the game without validating via udk.exe? Can you see servers in the in-game server list? Can you connect to one, via clicking or via console "open xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxx"? What I was suggesting before, was: 1) Just use your full 5.23 download (hopefully you have it in recycling in or wherever), extracted in a brand new directory, and then copy (not move yet) the launcher into it, and try that. 2) if that doesn't work, you could right click your ren-x folder, make a backup copy folder first, then on the original rightclick and click "properties", then go to version, and see if your computer saved a previous version from a time you had 5.16. Rollback, and then do step 1 again, where you extract a new directory and then move launcher from 5.16 into it. Either way, it's important to use new directories so you don't lose potential copies of older versions on your computer, that is, if you want to avoid downloading a full version to fix this. Even if it means making a copy of it now, a copy that is "fresh 5.23 not overlapping a 5.16", and a copy that is "fresh 5.16 with no modifications". Having 3 separate copies, gives you options. Thanks very much for the help and tips,will try that in the future.
