What does the fact that no one wants to command say?
isupreme replied to isupreme's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
Could players buy an option similar to a group being buffed? i.e. I can buy a buff which i can activate for myself. I could do it alone or get others to join me. It could be regulated like the command points so it is not too crazy. -
i bought it. only 20$ and it enables me to play it on my modern computer. I have to relearn my automatic key controls like i used to have... you know... when you dont have to Think about what button to push so much. But it does play like the original and i have had a few "time warps" where i was transported back in time and felt like i was playing the game as a much younger person. o0! I found it crazy how much of the artwork resembles Renegade. All the cinematic stuff that is there to give you a feeling for the game is like TotallY REn.

Some serious points to consider. I do think we could handle our own loses if the command functions were broken down into several players. Especially if they were less dependent on gathering large rush groups that succeed or fail spectacularly. Teamhampering does have potential, but is it more than we get currently, when we desperately vote in a bad commander? I would hope we could work thru that problem. Mystic said: That's the spirit! -
I hear butterflies and mayflies cavorting in the dappled sunlight of a forest pond.

Friends, Ren X players, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Commander, not to FIX him. The evil that Commanders do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones; So let it be with commanders. By William Shakespeare (from Julius Caesar, spoken by Marc Antony) Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones; So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus Hath told you Caesar was ambitious: If it were so, it was a grievous fault, And grievously hath Caesar answer’d it. Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest– For Brutus is an honourable man; So are they all, all honourable men– Come I to speak in Caesar’s funeral. He was my friend, faithful and just to me: But Brutus says he was ambitious; And Brutus is an honourable man. He hath brought many captives home to Rome Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill: Did this in Caesar seem ambitious? When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept: Ambition should be made of sterner stuff: Yet Brutus says he was ambitious; And Brutus is an honourable man. You all did see that on the Lupercal I thrice presented him a kingly crown, Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious; And, sure, he is an honourable man. I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke, But here I am to speak what I do know. You all did love him once, not without cause: What cause withholds you then, to mourn for him? O judgment! thou art fled to brutish beasts, And men have lost their reason. Bear with me; My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar, And I must pause till it come back to me. While i tend to agree with many critics of commander, I point to the opportunity the game has to give these powers to the player. #1. Harvester control. Make this a vote. -
What does the fact that no one wants to command say? It's no fun. Now I know for some people it is a lot of fun, and having a good commander can be a LOT of fun. I even imagine that someday i might learn enough to enjoy that role. But, for the vast majority of players it is simply not the game that they want to play. I seriously think we should give more consideration to turning Commander functions over to the players. The harvester is the first and obvious role that players could manage. I also believe many if not all of the commander functions could be turned over to the players. Why not give all of us more roles to play? I can accept that the commander functions further the action towards a resolution of the match. But the lack of wiling and able commanders negates this for many games. I would like to see the players with more abilities, and less dependence on a commander.

I will probably quit the first time this occurs.... And i have been known to switch teams to help balance up to 3 times in a game. ...

mark me disturbed but i cant turn it off. . ... . . .

I have always felt the core concept that makes the game great, is the feeling that each new game is a fresh and equal opportunity to raise hell. So go ahead and mix it up. But dont yank me during the match. REWARD me for being a good sport when i switch to balance.

It would be the beginning of the end. its just too much. It would completely destroy my imagination of being on the Renegade battlefield and allow dominant personalities to take priority over teamwork. It would neuter all our efforts to build communications that use other methods. (The radio and the Q spotting are great tools.) Easier is not always better.

Lately i have been curious if there is a listing of ALL the people who have officially been a part of making this possible. .. ?

And in a departure from previous episodes.... I bring you... BLOOD ROCK! This comes to you from my distant memories.... way.. way... ~~~~~~ back it time~~~~~ i was raised by very strict christian parents. Access denied to most common forms of music and expression. Flashback to school field trip to some generic science museum..... Lunch time finds me with school mates and of all things a jukebox. One of the kids puts this on.... and it FRIED my mind.. i don't remember much but the sirens and the FEELING of death and dismemberment. Although lately in the game i listen to Baroque music.. oddly enough.... hmm.

Non profits are allowed to pay employees and to raise funds ~ Because a non profit benefits the public and not share holders. In my state a non profit only needs 3 people and a charter, and 50$ to the state to file.

Would the formation of a Renegade X non-profit, as a legally recognized non-profit, respect the agreement with EA games?

I was kind to myself and i got new speakers for my pc. Bose. I have known their quality for decades and i am happy to find these speakers are sound studio quality. It is sooooooooo .. very nice to hear the midrange solidly agian ~ instead of just high end and low end. Pardon my gushing. Included in my testing: This song is in my Top 100. This video does it justice... amazing stuff in my book. And this iis from my top 10. I was looking for an actual Keith Jarret version .. but this one is pretty good too...

ah... yes.. I mean that in the game the mechanic would be enabled so that we players could vote to allow or not the beacon option. Thanks for allowing me to clarify!
-
Some early mashups i made ... a long time back. I had a lot of fun making them.
-
Sorry to repeat myself but.... Could this be decided by simply allowing players to vote on it?
