A list of minor things I believe needs some tweaks
Handepsilon replied to Handepsilon's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
5 minutes is too short I think. I'd say 8 or 10 -
1. I'm pretty sure this isn't supposed to happen. Apparently you can stand up on the other side of ramp 2. Rocket Launcher guys still hold their bazookas rather strangely... 3. I believe there's a need a system that deals with a player that stays idle for a long time. In my last 2 games, this guy here just stands in front of the PT like an idiot. Since somehow my vote option is grayed out, I can't do anything to him, except just taking my frustration out towards the guy in several absurd ways possible Somehow Nod guys killed his slacker partner, but kept him alive for the rest of the 2 games...

I've asked that question. The dev said at some point the source would be shared, but due to UDK limitations (which can only be unlocked by buying UE license), we would never be able to create a level and insert it in the game without recooking and repackaging the game, which in turn would make the game incompatible with the official beta

Are you sure? I always play with 640 x 480 (yes... performance over quality. I'm paranoid with resolution, so screw blurry texts) on high-demanding games, Renegade X included. As I said before, I do believe I only spot SBHs when they're 5 feet away. So unless I'm near-sighted (which I am, my right eye is near-sighted, but I wear glasses) I don't think it has anything to do with resolution
-
Hmm... I never tried ModEditPackages parameter. I'm guessing if you use EditPackages, the compiler will throw hundreds of warnings?

An idea regarding Renegade X's far future
Handepsilon replied to Kriemhild Gretchen's topic in Renegade X
Ahhh sucks. That 'rts to fps' is one of the reason the game is interesting -
Oh... so essentially recordDemo tells server to demorec?
-
Make sure you put the new EditPackages line on the bottom. The order of compilation correspond with the order of packages in the list. Unreal Engine fanatic, lol
-
Logs are stored in [Renegade X install path]/UDKGame/Logs
-
'recordDemo'? I thought that was 'demorec [insert video name here]' I'm referring to UT3 command, which as far as I know, is applicable in UDK

Starcraft? Wellz, there's that unreleased Starcraft : Ghost. Might be a fine opportunity to take the development over, with Blizzard's permission of course. -
I've always been able to detect a Nod SBH without shooting, but that's only when I'm about 5 feet nearby, and according to what I read, it was normal

Resolution impacts a lot more than details as far as I'm concerned

OMG, that would be a fun side game. So basically guys on each team would either buy a humvee/buggy on the WF/Airstrip and drive them to a designated point while the other works as harrassments (buy a speed-modified chinook or Orca/Apache and have them bully the oppossing team's vehicle)

Tipp: How to get about 30 - 50 % better performance
Handepsilon replied to RypeL's topic in Renegade X
Ah, yeah, that's the best thing about lappies -

Handepsilon replied to RypeL's topic in Renegade X
Meh, yeah. I need my laptop for Uni too. Besides, don't have internet at home, so I can only play online with wifi And we got three laptops already, including this one. The rest are just low-end leftover from past few years, so desktop? Won't happen anytime soon -
FrontEnd map is the menu map with that boat inside the dock. That was supposed to be that way, unless you'd like to play without main menu What can be fixed is probably optimizing the map details

How Carryall came to existence... It all makes sense now!

Tipp: How to get about 30 - 50 % better performance
Handepsilon replied to RypeL's topic in Renegade X
That's just it. I've checked the setting long time ago. The power plan was set to Balanced... or was it High Performance? Instead, battery power plan is set to Power Saver. I don't know man, this laptop is weird. It runs smooth again when the power is full -

Something worth a try when I charge my Lenovo AMD laptop (which funnily enough, while running smooth on medium setting, lags horribly upon plugging charger) -
If you were a trained soldier, and encountered a beacon...
Handepsilon replied to djlaptop's topic in Off Topic
Screw reality. I placed a Nuclear beacon on someone who just stares at the sky on the Airstrip. The guy lives. Or maybe he's just Kane in disguise -
Hatred? Heard from a news that mentions Epic's request for removal of their logo in the trailer Some opinions says that it is because of the game's main, not optional, goal of killing innocents for no clear reason

Well, monetize it! Just kidding. Yeah, I was expecting that. Too much work to realize it I'm also thinking about a mode where only one team gets a base while other team needs to destroy it/infiltrate it/complete certain objectives in an allotted time. That kinda sounds like UT's assault, yea, with classes and limited vehicle assets. Off topic : would be nice to see the 'full version' of the buildings too. I still remember getting lost in HoN trying to find the MCT in single player. Then I also was like... 'oooh, cozy bunkbeds', but yea, you get the point
-
So, something like Natural Selection? I'd like to see something more of a compromise, though. The MCV driver deploys, then controls the base, becoming the commander. Basic infantry are controlled by the commander. Tanks are deployed without drivers, and guys have to be sent into them. Commandos, however, have much better stats than basic infantry. This extends to them taking over vehicles. They are also player controlled. Commanders can give them general orders which they are rewarded for following, perhaps with increased veterancy points, but they can disregard them. I don't know what you mean by Natural Selection I think it would be a complicated mode to code on (the devs need to know how to actually code a proper RTS, and various buildings and models need to be made) but at the same time, sounds awesome. I don't suppose there'll be too many complication with buildings, seeing they're most likely either one big mesh, or prefab Random Scenario : Commando : "Sir, I need a Mammy ASAP!" GDI Commander : "Noooo, I'm saving our precious money for APC rush, go F yourself!"

Donat unlock after 3 minuntes in publick games
Handepsilon replied to Darkraptor's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
That's exactly what happened to me today in X-mountain. Nod APC rolls past me filled with 4 players. I tried warning my team about it... but I was surprised they weren't stopped at all, even more surprising when they reached our PP which were in the deepest layer of the base according to its' route Even more surprising yet, it happened again in the same game to our refinery... or was it barracks? Off-topic : I believe a feature like a battle plan menu where people can share tactics by marking things and drawing lines would be nice... like the one in Empire Earth II
