  1. why on earth would you want to use a joystick for flying? the flight direction is already towards the camera angle, ascending/descending and strafing is just as easy with the W A S D Q E keys. Oh wait, xbox ... nvm
  2. I too find this poster a bit anoying, especially the fact he's only posting bug, glitches and malfunctions according to his preferences along side with a "severity grade" which is entirely made up by himself (i presume) On the other hand, this is Beta and he is "beta testing" and reporting bugs in a short and concise manner. A dev might find it quite useful, in matter of 2-3 lines they read the subject, the players opinionated severity and a more detailed explanation. The opinionated severity is what makes it anoying for me though, it might be misinterpretted as if it is the general public opinion, which it is not. Might not be that useless either, think about the crashing reports, the forum is flooded by those and seems the most game-breaking prevalent bug/glitch/malfunction but when that's solved, we all revert back to the other bugs/glitches/malfunctions he has already mentioned.
  3. People who configure it to shoot lefthanded are weird, it looks weird, it is weird, it's a console thing i think. Yuck! The only reason I would allow left-handed fire is when it is possible to dual-wield weapons
  4. on the topic of locking vehicles, it's either desired and undesired to lock a vehicle. Let me give an example for both: Undesired: When playing on GDI on Walls: Flying, Nod SBHs are in the GDI base ready to steal those vehicles. Or when in the field or frontline, getting out to repair you tank might get an opponent rushing your tank to hyjack it. To counter it, you need someone else to occupy your vehicle while you repair it, locking prevents that. On the frontline/field it isnt that big of a deal, but on maps without base defenses it is! Nod having free vehicles in GDI base to pound the buildings with ... nuh uh! Desired: On maps with base defenses and assholes in your team, snagging all tanks they can because its cheaper than buying them. Once I had a person reply: "but i have no credits to buy one, i just joined." well ...... thats a legit reason to just take a tank that i'm repairing atm ...
  5. Hi Matt! Seen you commenting on a few posts before but didn't take the occasion to properly saying hi so there you go HI! About those kills/deaths, I liked sniping a lot earlier and I aim to get a K/D above 1 in any way possible, usually because I'm defending lately. Seems like no one is defending so might as well be me. Lacking score but having higher K/D. Or participating in tunnel rushes, going suicidal but having my team picking up the scraps and controlling that part of the map. Months ago sniping was easier than it is now (too many snipers getting pro at it ) and a K/D of 30+ was "normal". Now though, I'm lucky if i get 8+. On Topic: I have to agree with you on the "remembering" part. It helps with dieing less If you see someone you know is a good sniper (like Food or some TmX players) or a great tech/hot rusher (like HesH) on the opposing team, I know where and how to defend against them, yet when you only have people as "player0000" you do not know what type of player you are playing against. Comes with playing too much I guess
  6. Hi, Am I the only one "always" being anoyed by those "anonimous" player0000 people? I mean, entering a name in the launcher isnt that hard, is it? I understand that people might be using the ingame server list to gain entry to a server, but the launcher should still be up, right? So the "player0000" ID for people not using a nickname could still be altered into a nickname when started from the ingame list. When I do not use Steam in the background, I am still portrayed as "Truxa" in the ingame player list, so why is it so hard for others? It's anoying to be killed by Player1234, or seeing Player6969 cheat and kick Player9696 (notice the difference?) Those nicks are unique, but not quite so much distinctive. Solution: Make it mandatory to come up with a unique nickname in the launcher screen, or else the game won't start. Also, playing against player0000 feels like playing against bots. People who still want to play as player0000 can enter that as a nickname, same as people pretending to be bots. Player9696
  7. When I first heard about this, I checked it out myself. Barrel keeps spinning even after stopping firing, switching weapons/reloading. I play on medium/high settings, so I don't think it's graphics settings wise
  8. I think he has a point though, it's not normal for a player to take aim but other players just see that player having the weapon in a lowered position. It's strange
  9. Play more GDI and you'll see how SBHs are "shit". Just because you can't play them doesn't mean they are shit. It's also quite hard to actually becoming 100% invisible, scientifically spoken even though it's fantasy land doing this, you'd always see some sort of visual distortion when you are close enough to the cloaked object. However, there has been some bug reports to the fact that SBH recloaking could sometimes bug out and never become truly invisible again even though the SBH player looks as himself being stealthed. Maybe you experienced this bug?
  10. I doubt there is any valid room for a silo as with maps like Field there is ample room in the midfield. Adding a silo to volcano would be going out of the way to do so.
  11. Even though it's quiet in the community, it doesn't mean Ren-X is dead. Posts like yours will make it dead by fearmongering and discouraging new people from trying. People like you are killing Ren-X imo
  12. Agreed
  13. Truxa

    Why?!

Ok I'll bite: What makes them more fun? The lack of base defenses? The ease of base-infiltration?
  14. I agree! Especially with the 1 airstrike at a time thing. It's kindof like the vehicle production queue, vehicles don't all pop up at once, but in 5 (or so) seconds intervals. Downside though, is that when 3-4 people put an airstrike on the exact same area, that area is inaccessible for a long period of time.
  15. Truxa

    Why?!

    ugh
  16. Truxa

    Why?!

Why the hell is everyone voting for Walls: Flying almost 100% of the time?! Map has finished on Walls, next map: Walls. Just WHY?! Don't you guys get bored with playing the same map over and over all the time? Whats so special about Walls: flying thats lacking with the other maps? The fact it's the quickest map to finish?
  17. Watching those video's gives me the impression that building the map goes quite fast! And that lava is so cool! Can't wait to see it ingame! Looks great
  18. On the field map, or other maps for that matter, it isn't possible to deploy an airstrike across the map. It seems limited to distance. This is portrayed as the circled target area on the ground not being displayed. This very same feature (not displaying the target area) could be implemented in a "no go area" e.g. inside a base with AA up, or near a beacon or even when the team-timer is up, it will not display at all! (or perhaps faded out so atleast you can get a good aim) It doesnt need to be complicated, if it's not visible to deploy, you can't. Newguys understand that. Smart newguys ask why. Dumb guys will keep binoculars on and wait for the timer to expire and drop the strike there and then with a higher chance of being sniped down (for being exposed) Or as an extra UI timer in the middle bottom screen next to the maptimer, the airstrike timer is displayed?
  19. Dude, have you even read all the coments? especially mine? If you didn't, your comment is invalid anyway. I've been amongst the many in this topic stating that very same fact! -1 for you
  20. I heard from a reliable source they are still on the job as much as they can. They are doing whatever they can to try and fix the crashes, but as I understand it, they go 2 steps forward and 3 steps back. A VERY frustrating progres to fix the crashes. I don't know if they have fixed the crashes or not or even know the cause, but I do understand it is their number 1 priority over EVERYTHING else they are doing and believe me, they DO understand the gravity of the situation. Who would want to work on a project for free and see it go down in half the time they've already spend on development? Think about it, mapdesigners are just that, designers using tools to (re)create playable maps, but they are not programmers to try and fix bugs. In a development team there are many different specialisations, that of a mapdesigner is not specialized in bugfixing/coding or any other specialized job, you'd leave that up to the team's expert, right? So what's the point of putting every single dev on the bugfixing issue? Atleast there is progres in other area's of the project, I hardly call that counter productive.
  21. Who? and Why?
  22. I hope you are sarcastic saying "finally". It looks realy great so far! EDIT: That last part when you removed the skylight and showed the tiberium, thats actually awesome! That's some proper green luminescence with that dark background! Realy looks like a radiated area.
  23. This. Plus the fact that the Devs needed more than a year for Beta 1! People just need to hang tight and deal with it. Devs are doing what they can WHEN they can for FREE! Remember, they just might have a life for themselves and even have a job! Maybe a family and kids to care for? And they STILL put time and effort into making this game for YOU! For FREE! So, if you realy enjoy this game when the crashes are fixed, you'd wait for it.
  24. Ok, that sometimes can happen. If someone uses steam to connect to the game, the clantag is added to the name, if for some reason steam doesnt connect correctly, his name might be different. I saw that when I was playing with some TmX guy, between map switches his name got changed but he didnt do anything, so I understand why you didnt know if he was an admin. If it was the TmX server, I assume Sean will take care of it because TmX doesnt "just do that" Don't worry, it'll be fixed
  25. Sounds stupid in my opinion, I'd rather have your repair gun damage enemy tanks or buggies etc. Kind of like battlefield 4 with the engineer's repair tool that can damage enemy tanks quite quickly. Right, as the repair tool seems like an "electronic" beam, the frequency could be changed to deal damage rather than repairing. Maybe right-click for damage? Make it a secondairy fire on repair guns. I believe I saw it in a trailer some months ago. Same feature could be used to remove ill-placed mines?
