Reporting a badmin is a waste of time by definition. Just get together with some buddies and start your own server. That way you will be the one who has the power to eject anybody you choose instead of begging clan members to punish one of their own, lol. Don't settle for scraps in life when you can sit at the head of the table. And then you get to play on a server without players. Hurray. EKT and TmX servers are already full, why not get good relations with their members/admins as thats easier, cheaper and uhm, more logical?

Original renegade had this (in multiplayer mode) It was a server setting for infinite ammo. I agree though, when I switched from Original to RenX, I had to get used to the reloading @PT too. All primary weapons had infinite ammo. All bombs (Remote/Timed C4, Proxy) were limited (grenades were not availible but should be limited too) The drawback is, currently people get used to the frequent reloading at PTs especially snipers. When you have infinite ammo, you can take up position at a very secret and good covered location thats hard to reach. When you have to reload at a PT often, you'd not do the trouble of taking up such a position. So essentially it's game changing. Furthermore, on the Field or Mesa maps, when you snipe into the enemy base, you can't do that indefinately now, with the infinite ammo perk, you could, as long as you are undetected or pro sniping. I'd suggest not an ammo drop system but actually the ability to carry 2 primary weapons. The 2nd primary weapon dropped from the enemy you just killed e.g. In the solo mode you are able to carry and switch (G key) a 2nd main dropped weapon. 2 sniper rifles give you double the ammo. Or perhaps carry a laser chainrifle and a sniper, 1 for CQC other LRC. Gives also the possibility of grunt soldiers to carry snipers, it's no longer "save" to pick off soldiers when they can snipe back.

Or accept the fact some admins are jerks and do not confront them, atleast not at that very moment. Here is what you should do: When you see a server admin abusing his admin rights, issue the RecordDemo command to record it. Other server admins/owners can look it up and review your findings. If e.g. you are talking about the TmX or EKT servers, make an account on their websites and PM a server admin or clan leader with your findings, say you got it "on tape" through that recorddemo command and they can look it up. Most likely they will unban you as a result and the culprit will have repercusions, amongst them losing the admin rights (unless he's the actual server owner ofcourse) You see, I bring these 2 up because these 2 are the most active servers I find. And both clans have their good and bad people, but BOTH of them are respectable clans. If one steps out of line, he'll have to answer for it. If you were talking about any other server, geesh, go play TmX or EKT servers, they are better communities anyway and more activity. PS: afaik both TmX and EKT do not perm ban anyone, most likely 24h. Unless you are a cheater/hacker/very obnoxious/presistently rude/cursing/spamming or any other legitimate reason for banning.

Or you'd be that team hamperer that tags along with the enemy healing it giving that enemy a better chance of destroying your (already crippled) base. Seriously, there are enough people out there starting votes for a mapchange after 10 minutes of play when 1 building of theirs is knocked out. Those would be the players healing the enemy to speed up the proces of losing the match and forcing a new map in that sense. I find that a poor suggestion. Now, if you use a repair gun to make SBHs visible (a suggested feature to be added) and healing them at the same time is also contradictory if your team is trying to kill it.

Oh I forgot to reply on your post when I replied on Trooper. I agree, Humvee/Buggy/APC should have a "bigger ammo box" even though they already have infinite ammo (like any vehicle) and here is why: Chaingunner troops carry 100 per box/clip! It's only fair that these vehicles can carry the same, if not more! On top of that, the turrets seem to have 2 boxes, 1 on either side of the machinegun (for GDI) so technically 200-rounds per reload? or is one of them some missile box? (Though we can't use them "yet")

Any honest person must admit that this is the crux of the situation. Why do 50,000 people download a free game but only 100 remain to play it? The answer can be deduced with some simple logic. RenX was released as a totally free standalone game with the hope that it would attract a larger audience than its previous incarnation as a UT3 mod. This logic is undeniably sound because a free standalone is obviously more enticing than a mod which requires ownership of a prior game. However the game itself has at least two major flaws which are off-putting to the audience it is trying to appeal to: 1. The game does not run well on ATI gpus, especially cheap ones, and that is the very hardware people hunting for free games are most likely to have. 2. The overwhelming reason most new people download RenX is because they think it is a free version of BF3 and once they see it is not they immediately discard it. Please don't get me wrong here. The devs have done something truly remarkable by releasing a totally free standalone fps game with modern graphics. Unfortunately if those two problems can't be addressed then I don't see any possibility of it continuing with more than a handful of die-hard C&C fans. And there it is, the CoD/BF3 argument, as if those games are supposed to be the best ... I mean c'mon, camping a spot for more than a minute to "own" that location is better than the actual structures you must defend/destroy? All CoD/BF3 is is about mindlessly running acros maps, killing/shooting at anything that moves while capturing a flag ... Sure, renegade is also fast paced (immediate respawn after death) but atleast the buildings you are defending/destroying have functionality, gamebreaking functionality, rather than draining points if you have less spawn points than the other team. If those people stay away because RenX doesnt live up on that expectation, than good riddance! @N3tRunn3r I agree, RenX is a masterpiece, but I miss the sologame though, the Black Dawn one is just simply too short. Original Ren solo was the main game, multiplayer was a brilliant feature added to the game imo

there sure is, just look at snipers. Snipe in the head means death, snipe in the chest means no death but 25%/50%/75% dmg depending on the target

Unless it's a patch, I disagree. Remember, Beta 1 and Beta 2 required a full download, uninstalling Beta 1 manually first before installing Beta 2. And when the installation is fully completed, the installer AUTOMATICALLY reboots the system without a message for the need of this. Unless you want to download a FULL game every month and don't bother with uninstalling/reinstalling the new version, whilst also expecting this from every server owner to do this manually, I don't see it coming unless the Devs think it's time. I believe many people are "standing by" for the next release and new map content. If there will be patch fixes that automatically patch a Beta version (to lets say 2.1) I might reconsider my opinion.

Yeah tends to happen with those browser games. My goal is actually invest 0$ and see how far that takes you.

"E"ngineer and "R"efill keys are too close togeather?
Truxa replied to epicelite's topic in Renegade X
When fighting: 1: Pistol/Auto pistol/Tiberium Flechette/etc etc. (only 1 each) 2: Main weapon for bought character 3: Timed C4 (or grenades when changed at PT) 4: Remote C4 (Engineer/Hot/Tech) 5: Proxy (Hot/Tech) 6: Super weapon Nuke/Ion/Airstrike (Note: you cannot equip Ion/nuke AND airstrike at the same time) As in the PT UI, you only have the option to buy 1 of 4 availible weapons to replace the Silenced Pistol, so that means 1-4 in that section. -
Seriously, for me being a layman, I would be frustrated to do all that work you are doing. Learning the use of the tools, the inspiration you must have to create maps like so, the attention to detail. I do NOT envy you for your work. These video's just give a small peak into the lives of a dev and make me feel bad if I have a bad thing to say about a certain aspect. These video's demand respect from my side to yours, all the way. Gives a whole new vision about the work you are doing. Cheers for it! PS: These vids are just about 1 single map, makes me just wondering about game mechanics and glitch fixing, must be even more frustrating and time consuming

"E"ngineer and "R"efill keys are too close togeather?

This had happened to me too on occasion, my fix was: patience. More often than not, the hotkey uses are faster than the game load. When I join a game, I get into a PT and press E for engineer (fastest way to get $$ for other purchases, when joining mid-session) then press E again to change the silenced pistol into the automatic pistol, but the character is still portraying a soldier instead of the just-switched Engineer. This is BETA, so it needs to be optimized still, so best way to cope with it is patience! Maybe a tip to optimize: make character switching/refills client-based so the client registers the change without lag and vizualizes it, but the actual change has to be confirmed by the server for it to be legitimate (and not a hack/cheat of any kind) But I also agree, personal preferences are always different between individuals, for that reason alone, ALL keys should be rebindable. -
Counter with ramjets? Orca's? 2 havocs simultaniously shooting 1 art kills it with 7-8 shots. You only need 3-4 havocs to spam arties for them to move on to another tactic. Takes 10 seconds to drop an arty. I like this though: DEATH FROM ABOVE! 1 fully loaded chinook, flying over the arties location where engineers/hotwires drop down to C4 them.

Seems like a pretty good counter to an unbeatable GDI team to me. I mean, more often than not, a team will turtle in when they are behind, giving the opportunity for the assaulting team to drop defenses and assault even more. Missing out on 3 people helping the defenses going offensive is pretty hard! But also pretty nice when it's pulled off. It's GDIs fault to drop defenses when Hon was still up.
-
I disagree! The spy crate is VERY usefull at the no base-defense maps. Just the other day on walls, Nod was completely overwhelming GDI, killed the barracks and WF while Nod had it all. Sakura's on top laying suppresive sniper fire to cover the other nukes. GDI however, had a sakura spy sitting on top with us, sneakily killing the sakura's when they stood still to cover the nuke. It was realy hard to tell who was the spy as he was able to be far enough away not to see the red nametag. But I agree with the fact that base defenses should not see the spy under ANY circumstances, unless the spy opens fire on a GDI unit WHILST BEING a spy.

Donateing Vehicles to the team, without anyone asked for one
Truxa replied to omega79's topic in Renegade X
I wouldnt totally agree to the failure of this tactic. Simply ask ingame you want to buy meds to do a med rush and ask who wants to join. The number of people responding "I do!" gives you the number of the tanks needed. Simple! Also state: Med rush meet at place X NOTE: med can be changed with any other vehicle you wish to rush with -
GDI already has to have those players whether Nod is using the vech + infantry tactic or not. The point is: 1. Nod SBHs will already be in GDI's base, requiring players to guard against them, no matter what. 2. GDI cannot normally put that kind of pressure on Nod because Nod just has to guard its one main entrance 3. Cutting 30 seconds off an SBHs run makes MUCH less difference than giving GDI a way to backdoor with hotwire(s) Therefore, it's to GDI's advantage. Common Sense: if you're GDI, it makes sense to use this tactic unless the server bans it, because it helps even the playing field somewhat. Nod gets away with it unseen whereas GDI is nearly always spotted by someone on the wall defending and relaying the message to the threat. Thus it's GDIs disadvantage and Nods advantage. Seriously, the comments you people make are similar to Americans reasoning to the (ab)use of antibiotics: Americans believe that GP's should prescripe antibiotics to people having a cold, even though it's a virus, with the reasoning that the immune system is weakened by the virus, thus easier to be attacked by bacteria (hence the use of antibiotics in a prevention against those bacteria) GDI and Nod both have active wall-duties (so to speak) with mostly snipers. Nod can pick those vehicle servers off before they reach the wall, not to mention the Nod vehicles already outside the wall shooting them/seeing them/reporting them. GDI won't be able to pick them off from a distance as they wont SEE them. Just because SBHs will always be in GDI base, doesn't mean you should make it easier for them to do so. The more often it is needed to use the main gate, the higher the chances are to spot SBHs entering, the better the chances are to defend against it.

Today's crash for me: Noticing the obvious loss/win made me stop moving and/or lkooking and/or pressing any buttons. Game does not crash for me. 2nd map, noticing the obvious loss/win too late, I moved/looked and camera switched to a player who was violently moving around and game crashed

Donateing Vehicles to the team, without anyone asked for one
Truxa replied to omega79's topic in Renegade X
The number of times a tank is not taken by own team but opposing team is higher than the number of times all the tank are taken in time. Therefore, when I see someone buying loads of tanks, I start to timed-C4 them, when they are taken, no harm done (no friendly fire right?) when they are not taken, they get destroyed, so opposing team doesnt get the tank either. -
Hi monkey! What you did here (appologizing in full public) is highly valued (atleast to me) even though it does not concern me. Anyway, about that ref circling, I have never seen it before, I agree and me too would be frustrated to see it. On the other hand, if he had spotted a single SBH or stank in the neighbourhood I don't blame him. I would do the same. In fact, there are only a handfull of players who actually actively holding back, driving around the base for the off-chance of finding any SBH especially on those maps without (active) base defenses. Actually, I find it very frustrating when I'm playing GDI on such maps and I see no one doing it! (actively patrolling) Even when I spot an SBH and report the infiltrator in teamchat, I hardly get a response. Same with "need mines at area X" and 5 minutes later, that building gets destroyed by SBH infiltrators. (Might be a teamspeak chat-spy-tactic come to think of it) It always ends up with the same people (like omega and myself) patrolling the base, doing the "boring" stuff, getting no rewards (in the form of points/credits) at all. But after a while, it becomes apparent that if we do not, the GDI base falls quickly. It's only rewarding to see the team winning, not realy a personal win as you do not get points (usually ending up in the lower-mid range of the list)

Being referred to as a "retard" after commenting on specific server settings is not realy adult-like behaviour. What happened: I was playing on the EKT marathon server on the Nod team. Nod had a full base while GDI only had the barracks left. (map: Field) I commented on the fact that the EKT marathon server automatically spawns Bots up to a 1/2 full server (so it seems) As we all know, once an SBH has decloaked, attacked or got attacked by a GDI player, 'all' the GDI bots will spot that SBH no matter if he's cloaked again or not. I made a comment about the automated Bot spawning being in favour of GDI, on which an EKT member replied: "Sais the retard pretending to be a Bot" through IRC. (As I logged in as Truxa) I wont name names here, but I hardly call that adult-like behaviour and it only reaffirmed me of why I enjoy the TmX server more so than the EKT server(s). I like marathon and the only reason why I joined the EKT marathon server was the fact that the TmX AoW server was at 40/40.

Happenend to me too, I saw SBHs from quite a distance "hiding" in plain sight. No targetting box, but a sniper shot killed em. Ofcourse the dude accused me of cheating, this happened a while back though. Today on Islands, I saw an SBH sneaking passed the GDI main entrance, no one seemed to care (or couldnt see him while I did?) but I shot him. As I was actively driving around the base in my APC, this time I wasnt accused for being a cheater. I think it's funny when it happens when I'm playing on GDI, not so funny when I'm the SBH on Nod Beta 2.0a sais nuff

How do I change my key bindings? The options menu in the main menu allows me to change bindings but I noticed something strange: Both "Reload" and "Secondary Fire" were hotkeyed to "R" and no where in the list I saw my right mouse button keyed to anything (but ingame it's actually secondary fire) I just noticed this as I want to use TS3 with the "Push to Talk" button on the "G" key, but each time I press G as an engineer/hot/tech I take out my Remote C4, figured I should change this in the keybindings but couldn't find the "G" being bound to anything. Scanning through the rest of the list yielded the above stangeness.

I heard rumors about a "lobby war"? Also EKT vs TmX but with additional people outside the clans partaking in the battle? I would be interrested in hearing more about that, certainly because I do not have the time to join any clans but do love clan wars in the passed (when I had ample time to join clans in games such as America's Army) BTW. Going to watch the vid now EDIT: kinda funny though, since its a 10v10 match, the vehicle limit is 11
