Still say you should put invisible blocking volumes real close along the walls. Nonetheless, "please move the silo", "the silo don't need to be near harvesters", "move the silos it's ruining the map", you do it and they don't update it. That, and GrassyKnoll ffs, that map is MUCH better being changed from what it is, Idk if I can handle an update with a borked grassyknoll...

Depends what their repair threshold is. Multiple defenses, the front ones can be softer. Really, this would require some sort of tweak to the gameplay, making things more lethal (I believe a game mode and some code can "scale" units by whatever needed). Not saying it's a great idea, saying it's an entirely possible idea, and a lot of good games are based on it.

Depending on availability of a project partner, I may not be available for this week's pug due to tight deadlines. I have something with 4 days remaining to work on, and if they are available, tag, they're it. If they aren't, I am at a bottleneck in work and might just join in. Might help my grindy burnt out attitude towards it lol...

I was standing, watching all 3 doors along the backside, as chaingunner. The entire team was swarming the airstrip with high traffic. Also, Lavadragon had called them out. I specifically told them "do not divide attention to infantry paths, let them waste their manpower spending their time trying to reach me".

This is honestly pretty interesting. Not sure how viable without changing stuffs in Ren-X, but just in the grand scheme of Planetside 2, pretty interesting.

Well, honestly, which server are you having trouble moderating? Fffreak9999 usually responds to ANY !requestmod commands in CT, and if you are talking about Cronus's MPF server, then petition him to create more moderators out of active players whom he is willing to trust. As far as global moderators go, sadly enough, the only people I can think deserve moderation of every server everywhere, are ones already moderating CT and ones moderating these forums. That is quite biased, because those already moderate for the most part.

You can still technically do all of these things. Just no menu for them in-game. These things are all mostly hooks found in Unreal3 engine, and can be accessed as such. Same way you do it in BL2 and junk. I bet the menu was seen as complicated and mostly unused, including LAN considering a LAN game populated beyond 6 is probably going to suffer performance issues. However, you can still do it if you looked up how to do it manually. Servers, however. Currently we have 1 page of listings, so it'd be unnecessary.

The only attacks were 12 hours ago, it could be possible we restarted the server or something? I didn't setup an IRC bot until a few hours ago so im watching it now more closely. Also irc is at irc.cncirc.net #MPF-RenegadeX No clue how you did it, but bless you sir.

A McFarland spy nuked the GDI PP AFAIK. I was the one shot to death trying to diffuse it, by a flak shotgun burst.

Would be nice. Also, if you don't feel like it in light of things, that's fine, but DDOS isn't so much an excuse if we don't publish the server to the public list and have everyone direct-connect via TS3.

I think the best way to balance high level repairs, is to make the current advanced repairgun, have a limit to how long it's advanced. After you repair too long, it repairs at rate of a weak repairgun until you have some time to recharge it. Ask for the game itself, the structures not fully repairing is good, I think the game simply needs a limited health objective (less armor and more health on structures), and higher stakes late-game (veterancy or upward scaling damage). Could also use a comeback mechanic (like longer respawn times for stronger teams or players, like in most mobas). I am not saying "make it a moba". I am saying "use what makes sense", take a few game mechanics but not fuck with C&C mode.

Honestly, being this angry about it is already a setback. Just by seeing all this, the guy might stick around even longer. Every time he's come back, he's left for months at a time. He might be around for weeks before he gets the point this time. We ALL know there is already a solution in place. Everyone just needs to calm down and ignore him, by this time next week, whether he's trying or not, he'll be forgotten about. Let's hope this time, when we forget about him, he forgets about himself as well, and we can all just leave this bullshit in the past. It's wasting a lot more of his time than it is ours, and is literally violating most national laws when he does it, putting him at risk of a bare minimum 6 month prison stay, each and every time he comes back. Remember, one of these days, SWAT is going to kick down your door, if they'll do it to Twitch streamers, they won't have a single problem doing it to you. Is it worth 6 months in prison, just to bring down Ren-X servers, and it's already small yet dedicated playerbase, for a single fucking week?

I'm going to start keeping Teamspeak3 and IRC open. So PM me with instructions. Besides logging literally every 5 minute interval of the day, can you run another script to dump all logs older than 45 minutes? I couldn't imagine the logs piling up THAT bad in just 45 minutes. This might be worth checking, if there is a way you can verify reverse-path for users and simply dump their packet earlier.

I can only offer. I have some experience and no busy life. At least I could be one of the redundant backups, in case you can find 2 other solid people. I have been less burnt out because I took a bit more space than most lately. Most I have going parallel, is sadly enough as this may seem, the #TIBA, but I can't in all good conscious use that as an excuse that I'm too busy, if anything, it just means I have no life whatsoever and should have tons of time to be available.

Is fffreak9999 and glacious available? I don't want to volunteer anyone, just usually they are available for this. As far as funding, I believe you have a link already, so we can only hope it's important enough to get people's attention. Also, maybe development should consider a way to reroute people from dropped servers, into other servers automatically. Maybe even split full servers upon game end into 2 servers. This way, servers migrate automatically, and keep the DDOS chasing it's own tail.

You'd think if I were going to publicly list his name, I'd have done it long ago. We intentionally avoid sharing whatever alias he happens to be going by, but you probably don't know him. If someone else who knew who it was or discovered who it was, thought it was a good idea, they too would have done it long ago. If they want to share a name, it would be up to them, not I.

The guy is usually always the same guy as before, and we know exactly who that was, but there's no point in going on an offense against him. Hopefully, DoctorB0ng will figure out a traffic filtering solution.

It's rarer now, but this is also sometimes the fault of the shape of the boundary when the boundary is created in the map in the editor. Worth a mention nonetheless.
