  1. I'd like to second this idea. I admit I often have to scour the map to find my own playericon. Something to make it stand out more, like a blinking crosshair would be pretty nice.
  2. Can you try this? 1. Open explorer (windowskey + E) and navigate to the RenX 64-bit client folder in the program files. If you're running RenX on your C:\ drive and installed it with default settings, it should be here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Binaries\Win64 2. Locate UDK.exe, rightclick > Properties 3. Head over to the "Compatibility" tab and check the option "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and select "Windows Vista" from the list.
  3. Have you tried this, too? You can try Windows 7 but iirc, some people still had a low chance of getting soundbug in Win7 mode. After applying this a while ago, I have been happily playing in the 64-bit client without soundbug. Hope it helps for you
  4. Hiya, It's a known bug in the 64-bit client. Usually happens when you start a new match. Only option is to restart the game and rejoin. The 32-bit client doesn't have this issue, but you might run into video memory errors. I'd recommend the 64bit client. I haven't had the soundbug in weeks, personally. You can post your experience on sound bug in this thread. This thread has possible fixes to try out. Godspeed!
  5. That game was winding down to NOD winning (after having traded buildings), but at the very end, both NOD and GDI embarked on inf rushes at the same time. NOD just got in a bit quicker
  6. I've had some pretty wild matches, in the past few days. Like this close call, four days ago.
  7. It's awesome to see new players. It really changes the dynamic of the matches. Happy to see that some in the community are also really helping and motivating new players. Y'all some good souls ❤️
  8. That is unusually slow. The update takes about 5-10 minutes for me, for both download and install. What is the speed your ISP offers you and are you installing on a SSD or HDD? Hope we see you in-game!
  9. The much bigger scale is amazing, the freedom with land vehs and the different types of weapons are awesome Sounds and explosions are have a lot more oomph. The third video, porn to my ears.
  10. It was really cool to hear you guys converse with each other. You're some awesome people ❤️
  11. I gave it a try recently, but got voted out immediately after because I was trying to figure out how to park harv. People barely respond to "protect harv" or "reclaim field" or questions. I'll just be a grunt, kudos to whoever wants to command, it ain't my thing.
  12. Sorry to revive this post, but seconded on the suggestion for making handbrake bindable in menu. Not sure which .ini to change and how I can change it. Can I bind space to handbrake? Do I need C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\Engine\Config\BaseInput.ini and is it the "Bindings=(Name="C",Command="DoDuck")" I need to change? Thanks! *edit* Found it, it's in the file C:\Program Files (x86)\Renegade X\UDKGame\Config\UDKInput.ini, line 711: Bindings=(Name="C",Command="GBA_Duck",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) Changed it to: Bindings=(Name="ThumbMouseButton2",Command="GBA_Duck",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False,bIgnoreCtrl=False,bIgnoreShift=False,bIgnoreAlt=False) That also changes the duck button, they both serve the same purpose, it seems.
  13. OH BOY. This looks AWESOME I WANT IT NOOOWWWWW Fantastic trailer! Can't wait!
  14. I don't know what's going on, but that's deep, homie.
  15. I can't speak on people stacking, but I can say the past few weeks have been pretty great on stable servers and no DDOS'ing. No matter how people will look at RenX, it's still here (and I'm still loving it). It would be great to have you back! The only thing I can say about the stacking, is that I don't really care I say this with love and respect for anyone involved in making ànd playing the game. It's such a stupendously subjective matter that people somehow want to shoehorn into a tiny logical box that makes everyone's skill evenly laid out. Everyone plays differently, everyone has certain advantages and disadvantages, everyone will have good days and bad days. I am not at all a good player, but I can figure out how to best help the team, even if we are losing. I enjoy that challenge the most in RenX. There's plenty of ways to change tactics and communicate to the team... but then sometimes the team is everyone trying to do their own thing and the focus is lost. I can't tell how many matches have been lost over losing the first harv at start of the game... Or better yet, have had a complete turnaround because people work together with only one building left. This is fact of life if you have a small community of returning players. That's my experience, of course, ymmv. Only thing I wish for, is for the chat to be less cluttered of people whining and complaining, and more playing.
  16. Not entirely sure myself, but I recall someone mentioning to use the official EU server instead, yesterday. I have the same issue, joining CT sends me to the main menu. Have played on CT before. Will join EU instead.
  17. I think I've seen some players with names for runes, anyone else listen to old Norse/Germanic inspired music? Or angry Greeks:
  18. SOYLENT GREEN IST MENSCHENFLEISH 😧 I watched it 15 years ago, after my dad gifted me his copy of "Make Room! Make Room!". I rewatched it with friends somewhat recently, but since it's so old, it was difficult to power through. Filmography has changed so much. The scene with the old man going in for his last day, man, that's a rough one Still a relevant story, though.
  19. I'm with isupreme on this one. 30 seconds seem fine and I don't see how much more time you'd need to discuss the previous match. It would be a bit more effective if people talked to each other during the match.
  20. I wholeheartedly agree, but there are still matches where the commander doesn't act on the harvester and no one else wants to command, or not enough players vote to elect a new commander. Or there is no commander and not enough people vote. It's good that you understand the role of the harvester, but that doesn't count for everyone, I'm afraid. As for being baselocked and harvy running, the harvy can be a nuisance as it'll shove tanks and inf into the crossfire. Especially on maps like Field where there's only so much room for tanks to maneuver.
  21. I like this, it combines the previous suggestions into one neat little package. One thing it doesn't address is if commander is ignoring harv or requests to stop harv. Wouldn't it be useful to overrule a commander on harv with a vote?
  22. I like that! Any change sounds good to me. Can't think of anything else? This is just me, but I'm not that bothered by the 30 second delay of a vote. The harv has probably been needlessly destroyed several times over by that point. Also just realized that we'd also need a harv restart vote.
  23. pls no roweboat-samaaaaaa I'll give it a go on a low-pop match I've added a separate thread on the harv issue. To get back on track of the commander role, I was wondering if targets designated by the commander have an extra effect. Is that the case, right now? It would be nice to offer players an incentive for carrying out a commander's request.
  24. Continuing on from isupreme's thread on why no one wants to command, the issue of harvies rolling to their death came up. I thought this topic deserved its own thread, so that the other thread can continue to stay on track. With any C&C game, starting up a good economy as fast as you can, is important to gain advantage over the opposing team. All too often, we see harvesters being sacrificed, resulting into lost income, VP for the enemy team to farm and less so - disrupting the vehicle build queue. When there is no commander OR the commander is preoccupied or AWOL, this is a concern to the teammates trying to hold down field. So we're looking for a game mechanic that allows players in general, to take control of the harv, in some way, overruling or acting instead of a commander. I'll try to reiterate the suggestions from the previous thread: Allow players to control the harv, much like the commander, through some shortcut option menu. Expanded: To a specific class, like engi's and techs/hotties Stop harvester from rolling out, after being destroyed n amount of times. Reduce the amount of VP rewarded by destroying a harvester Add a voting option, to return the harv Add a voting option, to designate a player who has control over harv Lastly, what would happen to the harv when it is recalled? As discussed previously: Return the harv to the docking bay Return the harv to a set safe location provided by mappers Hope I didn't miss anything, if so, please let me know and I'll edit this post. My personal favorite is to use the voting system, although I have no real preference on where the harv is returned, ref or elsewhere. I don't believe in turning harv control over to multiple people nilly-willy, giving cause for willing or unwilling grief. Regretfully, there are still some players that join just to block your repair gun, spam you to death with voice commands or needlessly chuck c4 at your face. Some new people might not know what they are doing. What are your thoughts?
  25. Soundbug has reduced to once in a blue moon for me. It's been weeks since I've last had it.
