Originally there was no delay. End result: Wiz, poi, xen and others just were a one man army headshotting the f*ck out of everyone (including Mobius and Doza), running around 1-hit killing most people, so due to a significant pressure from players, their firing mechanism has been revised. I have to note though, that people who specialize on Sydneys and Raveshaws can still achieve headshots (I personally can attest, being on the recieving end). For tips on how to do that feel free to ask Kaunas or SaintBred. Sydney and Raveshaw are properly known as $1000 Tier 3 Advanced ANTI-TANK infantry. Limiting their range would directly hamper them in fulfilling their intended fundamental function.

@Handepsilon @TK0104 He might have meant this odd phenomenon - its like the inner part of the screen was "shifted/moved/displaced", haven't noticed it myself as of yet, but then again, I do not play on a high graphics preset...

Also I would like to kindly ask for that in the future similar topics should be made under Feedback & Bug Reports, so similar topics would be found under the same category: https://renegade-x.com/forums/forum/9-feedback-bug-reports/

The round starts and there are NO crates on the map until AFTER the time which the server owner specified in StartSpawnTime has elapsed, crates start appearing!
-
StartSpawnTime - if I recall correctly - determines when will crates globally start to spawn [amount of time - given in seconds - after crates startappearing on the map]. I believe there is a set amount of concurrent crates [determined by the map author] and specific crate spawn points [also defined by the mapper]. As far as I am aware, the content of the crate is determined at the exact moment you pick it up [along the lines of the probability-weights the server has been configured with]. Those crate types need special conditions to be active (like Death-Match game-mode, or maps which support them), hence aren't globally active. "Super" Money Crates also inherit attributes from the regular Money Crate. "Super" Money Crates grant an amount of money to ALL your team members too, hence as with the regular Money Crate, there needs be a sanity check in order to prevent a scenario where picking up a really lucky crate would yield an instant, disproportionate advantage to a team. Thusly it can be configured by the server owner from what point in time should the aforementioned crate type start to grant larger sums of money.

I'm currently reading this book by Douglas Hofstadter, titled "Gödel, Escher, Bach: an Eternal Golden Braid - a metaphorical fugue on minds and machines in the spirit of Lewis Carroll" which in my humble opinion is quite engaging and brilliant. (Does not hurt if you have some understanding of computer sciences)

"I don't think people plough a bunch of time into games with a social aspect unless they're happy about it," he said." Well... I'm by no means an expert, but if the above is true, why do we have people like the "FU LOSER TEAM" guy, Chlenx and others coming back for more?

I'd personally bet on that thing throttling like hell. End result is you having the game run on 0.5 core ( 1 HT thread) and on low clock rate -> MEGA lag. Game is practically single threaded, and that is its bottleneck, your GPU is very well suited to run it on FHD ultra preset, but that CPU in my own experience (with a Dell laptop having the same) is very prone of running hot and lowering its clock rate.

Time for some Barockin'

I don't spend much time either. Results come nonetheless. Also I don't want to demotivate people so I won't come down on them like a bag of bricks YET.

Poi medals about to become a thing again?

I swear something is wrong with those weapon crates, the chances of getting duplicate weapons is higher than 50% in my own empirical experience. People don't want ammo, they want new toys Fite me @Fffreak9999

How friendly is the community when it comes to custom content
limsup replied to Kirby550's topic in Renegade X
Are the maps made by you or any affiliate from scratch or are they modifications to existing maps or merely just a re-bundle of maps which already exist in the Forum's development section or download section? Map "packs" have little practical meaning in this game since practically no one uses manual download and installation of maps. Custom maps are decided upon by the server owners, who need to include them in their server's configuration, where map rotation is specified. Then they need to set up a web server from which the maps in question would be downloaded to clients. It also has to be configured in a certain way, else downloaders would be stuck at a few KiloBytes per second transfer speed. Lastly, there is the issue of shader compilation. For official maps [here: maps which are "bundled" in the base game], the shaders are already built by developers and included as part of the game. With custom maps, each client needs to build their own shader cache, which, depending on the performance of one's CPU may take as much as 5-10 minutes on the first load of the map, which would have most people thinking their game (or PC) has frozen. I guess if you have the means to properly educate your audience on how to install maps and to not quit while downloads and shader compilation happens, you could, in theory, have such map packs, but as one might see, regrettably it is not exactly a trivial endeavour. -
I very much like what I've read!
