View File CNC-Uphill Redux Backstory After Havoc got stranded on a Nod operated Island and took High-Classified Information of the Nod Communication Center to find the whereabouts of the GDI scientists, GDI found something very interesting in those files. According to their files, there is a Nod base somewhere in the Andes, Argentinia, which is working on a Top Secret Project called Project I. It looks like Nod is developing and testing the so called "weapon" over there. Civillians of towns near the mountain have recently seen weird Dark-Yellowish skies and said they heard heavy thunder when these skies appeared. GDI has send an advanced team to find out what's going on.     New maps

    Hey guys, I'm not sure, if it was really noticed from the Developers and the players, but there are nearly 3 unfinished maps (Training Yard, Horolugue and Uphill, wich still need a bit fixing, but it should be done very soon) from @TK0104 and it would be great to see these maps in the game. So I just want to ask, if you could add these maps in the next patch or make an extra partch for these map, where you just add them to the game. I'd love it to see finally some new maps in the rotation and why we shouldn't use maps, which already exists. Would be nice if I could get an answer from the Developers Luhrian

    I decided to make a Deathmatch map since we didn't have that many yet. I've used the same environment package as Tunnels, but the design of the map is completely different, it's inspired by the layout of Meltdown from COD : Black Ops 2. There are weapon, health, armor and ammo pickups. the weapons pickups are: Laser Chaingun Flamethrower Flak Cannon Rocket Launcher (Gunner) Unsilenced Sniper Rifle Note: The location of other players on your minimap isn't scaling correctly yet, I know this.   11. View File CNC-Walls II Yo, So as you may know this month Walls Snowing is added to the rotation of the CT servers, which is awesome! But I played it once and noticed it wasn't really a snowy map. So I've been in contact with Henk (The original developer of Walls Snowing) and he said it would be OK if I release a newer version of the map. So I've been doing some changes to the map. - Added Some awesome snowmarkers to the map - Tweaked the landscape for natural erosion - Changed Lighting settings - Added snowblend materials to some meshes - Added some ice to spots - Added a nice Christmas Easter Egg (Hint: You can search everywhere but you can't see it ) One thing to make clear to you guys. This is actually my Christmas present for you guys (Yes already). It was pure for Christmas which means I will still continue all my other maps as promised. I don't have any plans for any release at the moment so this could be the last map I release this year. Well....maybe an updated version of A map..... But hey, why am I still typing this text?. So I've had this idea for a flying map for quite some time now and thought I'd use everything I've learned in the UDK so far to start a map from scratch and to go through the process of its creation properly, so here is near-final landscape layout of the map. CNC-Valkyrie A flying map with a deep chasm running from one base to the other, silos are located at the furthest reaches of each chasm which can be accessed via land or by air. There are ideal drop-off points for transport helicopters to ferry infantry to, as well as a few routes through the middle of the map but keep an eye on the chasms, for the majority of these chasms can only be traveled by air. Each base will have main base defenses as well as a few GTs and a few AT/SAMs. Map reduction for chasm might be required. This is a dusk/day map.

The built-in downloader defaults to a new repository, but server admins can also host their own map/mods/etc repository. -------- Original Post -------- Here is a list of maps available for download via the seeker/launcher.   17. Is there a public list of the maps that are currently available via seeker? This would be handy for server admins so they know what maps are automatically downloaded. Also does the seeker handle just maps, or does it handle mutilators as well?

Well, I'm currently fiddling with some deathmatch settings, testing out material instances, landscapes... and it seems like that my former test map is going to be an unexpected Deathmatch map It's set (as the name implies) in an tiberium wasteland with, due to high tiberium exposure, destroyed buildings and toxic lakes.   20. Hey all, I was poking around in the OpenRa editor and thought, how hard could it be to make a mission in this. Well after some reading through the current created missions and scripts, I made 2 missions and a third one will come later. Thought I might post it here as we all love CnC right (even though im not all that happy with some implementations in OpenRa, the arty and mlrs are brütal in range) Anyway, place the 2 folders in the zip into <your driveletter>:\Users\<your username>\Documents\OpenRA\maps\cnc\release-<whatever stands here> You can find the maps in the mission selector. The 2 missions are called: Running from evil; Gathering the truth. If you peeps have any ideas for the third and last map of this "mini campaign", let me know!   21. Hey Guys! So I've been working on a new map for quite a while now and I thought, I might share my ideas with you. Please note that this is my first Renegade X/UT3 map, so don't be too hard on me xD. It's an infantry only map with only the Hon/Bar active and lots of pathways. I added so far: - 1 Hon/Bar for each faction - 3 Silos (1 close to each base and 1 in the center) - lots of infantry paths - 1 Guard tower/Turret for each base (guard 1 of the 3 entrances per base = add more dynamic and oppertunities) - 3 Crates - a sand dune like area - some small trenches in the center Again, this map is very far from being finished but here are some screenshots, so please tell me what you think about it ^the general overview of the map without fog. (can't see much detail like foliage and meshes because of the small rendering distance) ^more detailed overview ^GDI base (note the Guard Tower at the back of the Barracks) ^Nod Base (note the Turret on the Hon's back) As you might have noticed there is no lightning on this map Every time I want to build lightning it crashes and showes me these 2 errors: ^Just keeps on building and nothing happens tried this with the official maps too and it's the same..   22. [Original Map by HappyConscript] This map was to 95% finished but never got released. That made me very sad . So I decided to take a look at it and tried to make it ready for testing And here it is: DOWNLOAD changelist: - added/moved some blocking volumes (to the destroyed vehicles) - added SpottingAreaNodes - added a complete EndGameSequence - added a minimap - added fire damage volumes on burning debris - added fog density inside the Tiberium lake - added a liquid volume to the lake (so you dont just fall on the ground but rather float in it) - added 'normal' Tib volume to the crystals surrounding the lake - changed the instantKillVolume on the Tiberium lake to a Tiberium volume (does waaay more damage than normal tib) - changed the wind direction of all emitters so that they match - disabled the collision on small debris on the ground (could easly get stuck on it Some screens:
  23. Hey, I want to start a Forum discussion about the actual Canyon design / balancing. Some weeks (maybe months) ago we had a TeamSpeak chat about Canyon after a Saturdays PUG. Maybe some attendees remember. Even though Canyon used to be a GDI map (due to the open base design on Nod side.. meds / ion -> gameover) I think that it's now a 85% Nod map (new inf exit to field / silo). Nod can easily pin down GDI with arties from the airstrip. Even if Nod loses the harvy, they can buy Arties & Techies to counter any incoming med rush. Arties are cheaper than meds & deal more damage. Though you need more teamwork with arties (dedicated healers etc.). When Nod gets Flamers GDI usually lost. Their base entrance is so narrow and 2-3 flamers [with arty support] can esily destroy any medium tank coming out of GDI base. You can place e.g. 3 arties there, with good cover for healers as well. This is clearly B2B [barracks] but for some reason it hasn't been dealt with so far. So I think it would be nice to give GDI a proper - balanced - base entrance. This is just a suggestion I'm no mapper! Feel free to post your own ideas here! Regards, Sn4ke PS: @kenz3001 if you don't want to redesign the GDI base entrance you should close this topic.   25. Yo, So a different announcement than normally, pure because I just keep announcing maps the same way so I thought why not make a small series of the map with gameplay. The map: CNC-Horologe, Maybe you still remember it from the old UT3 Renegade X days. It was actually a smaller version of Hourglass with no side paths and less buildings. It is basicly the same as the original but I have added some improvements like: - Additional Cover - Silo + Communication Center - Infantry Side Path - Gameplay changes So for now enjoy the series and I will add a normal WIP forum later: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5OEjEVej4A
