  1. excellent, the Hind. great to hear. Overall I'd say the new tanks are coming along nicely!
  2. The tank destroyer is an awesome addition! it seems different enough from all other tanks to really add variety! I'm forgetting which aircraft shoots like 60-80 rockets in one go. But I feel like the shots should be halved and the power of each missle be increased by 2x. Even at heroic, the damage is minimal currently.
  3. Like I always say, if there's a will, there's a way
  4. I like a lot of the ideas brought forward here. I think without getting into too many details, broad goals/guidelines should be set up. What makes Renegade X (Renegade/C&C Mode) different than other games? What keeps it unique and appealing? Obviously, any kind of rebuild can't be done overnight, so the question becomes, what should be the focus? (beyond bugs etc.) Should the game's focus to be an RTS or an FPS first? Should a true RTS-style commander mode be implemented? (where the commander can issue commands, attacks from the overview map, but using a fog of war to not make the powers too overreaching) Should more base-building type freedom be implemented? (rebuild destroyed buildings, build walls, commander building repair powers) --Yosh mentioned it being a limit of FPS drop. Could there be a clever way to code it so this is minimized or eliminated?-- I know someone mentioned it, but put a greater importance on Tiberium gathering. Make it a more scarce asset. Once gathered its gone (add Tiberium trees). Put a higher focus on teams needing to work together to pool resources. If the focus is to be more on the Shooter aspects, Should class types be reduced? Less free classes? Re-enable buyable weapons/ammo (mines, grenades)? *if sticking to C&C formula, most units were ridiculously ineffective solo (except commando/Tanya). What if only timed/remote c4 were truly effective against MCTs? Example: No more running into a base solo or even as a group of Sydneys/Ravashaws to destroy a building... they are Anti-tank, not anti-building. Make all guns ineffective to MCTs.* Anyways just a few off the cuff thoughts/ideas. Sometimes my ideas suck. sometimes they are good. time will tell =D Edit: I'm also 100% for laser door defenses over mines. Yes, of course, I understand fully how mines work... been playing this game nearly since its inception, but it is a goofy system.
  5. Interesting. As someone like myself who's been playing "C&C mode", Renegade/Renegade X for nearly 15 years off and on, I could see where a new player might make these points. However, as a counter-argument to "its boring", I'd say people need to be reminded this game should be seen as a STRATEGY game first, a TEAM game second and a SHOOTER last. Frankly, I don't even like strickly FPS games, because I find them too repetitive and pointless. all you do is run around and shoot the other person before they shoot you. There is no other real goal than that. If anything, I think there should be more emphasis on the fact that the game is an RTS-FPS Hybrid. (maybe as a sub-title even). The name "Renegade-X", sadly is being forgotten to time.
  6. Actually, it only shows in green in the top left on everyone's screen. The red lettering that Sarah shows on the post a few above mine, is only shown to the player over-mining.
  7. I thought it odd that the game shows 0 physical memory being used, all virtual memory. I was testing on the map that seems to give the most issues (Outposts) and Virtual Memory was using a constant 1.11GB. Didn't running into any memory spikes or crashes that time of course. I'll keep testing.
  8. I guess my question is what do people like so much about glacier? is it the unique elements? or the layout of the map? I ask because that's what I remember, the layout. yes the gun emplacements and a few of the features of the map were cool, but I found the overall design of the map to be the part that made glacier so appealing.
  9. I haven't had much time to play test new patch. But overall I think a great feature would be to add more direct hotkeys for commander mode. Basically between trying to type out team commands, then coordinate attacks and while still hitting a bunch more keys, while trying to say aim a cruise missle and give a buff, gets a bit crazy. I'm sure some of you know what I mean. trying to lead a tank charge (holding foward key), switching to chat (team chat key), bring up commander mode (alt+c), select option (number), activate it (hold q). Repeat. What if commander mode wasn't tied to the same interface as the vote commands? Not sure if that's in the works, but I feel many aren't even wiling to try commander mode just because it is so confusing at first.
  10. What if it wasn't ice themed then? do glacier in desert theme =D
  11. Thanks I'll see what I can find out.
  12. 1.2k likes & *27k* dislikes now
  13. Yeah ive tried different fixes for months. nothing really seems to work and its totally random. it has something to do with the game engine itself... just have to wait til the patch fixes it.
  14. honestly looks like an over-simplified version of C&C3 which is still better than C&C4.
  15. ... but how well did they listen?!
  16. Ive found the problem seemed to be less more recently.
  17. welcome back @RadicalEdward2 ! yes, unfortunately, I've been having that same issue occasionally. ever since Beta 5.1, some nasty but (seem to be) rather ssystem spec specific bugs and crashes have arisen
  18. I've been experiencing this issue since Beta 5.1 ... so its nothing new but seems to be getting worse. like a sickness.
  19. I'm forgetting if this was mentioned already ... but basically, it seems like there is a bit of a catch 22 going on here. We want to grow the game community and its presence, but Devs are looking to have the game be less Beta-ish first. ...but to speed that along more people working on the game would be necessary. But since not many know about it, few people who have the skills are able to work on the game. So my suggestion is we should look to recruit even more developers? (I think Havoc89 put out a call for this like a year back, not sure what came of it).
  20. I am inclined to agree with you to a degree @dr.schrott , and I know you've brought up some good discussions before (the current running "how to grow the community for e.g.). But frankly voicing negativity like this, without an immediate positive solution of some sort is not helpful at all. Obviously the Dev team and others know there are problems and I know they are working hard to correct them. Best to leave thoughts / comments exactly like these directly to a Dev instead of an open forum. Criticism is fine but I recommend more concrete examples, otherwise, it simply breads negativity.
