  1. I'd be way more interested in flying variations of some other maps... which would also includes more free-flow in the map, no invisible walls, an entirely different conceptual mindset, and a shit ton of work. But hey. Between Walls and Walls_Flying I would always pick Flying. And obviously Walls would need to have removed ramp access to the top of the mountain, as usual.
  2. Thanks for considering it.
  3. One thing that bothers me is the camera lag. It "lags" behind the movement which makes strict movement (particularily around corners, both with vehicles and infantry) feel weirder than it should. Thats one thing I forgot. I'd LOVE to have an option to remove that lag.
  4. There's more that this needs. THe problem in most games is at the start, one player gets more players ready to play than not. As a server setting again, there should be an option to wait a little bit before start-up. Players would be in the game, but unable to move, but able to chat, talk with their teammates, but more importantly, wait for players to load the game. Its absolutely ridiculous how fast I load yet I often have literally 6 players in the same building as I just standing around, because they're not actually ready to play. Even just 30 seconds of readying would go a long way to make the beginning of the game less about which team loads the game the fastest. This, -and- the fix in this topic, would both go a long way to improve the early game or rather, not make it snowball so often and so easily.
  5. Proper icons above people's head when they use voice commands. Apparently there is an indication of it, I have NEVER noticed it in game. It should be a huge, glowing, sparkling icon. No, seriously.
  6. You do know that when you're sprinting, your move speed is far faster than the original Renegade, right? Removing the stamina meter would imply removing sprint altogether. Which did cause some considerable balance changes but... of course, going around in the now bigger maps (nevermind the new maps which are way too large anyway), we can't take out sprinting. So your suggestion is... to be sprinting all the time? That would be... pretty insane. And another look at it: You're essentially saying sprinting is not arcade-enough. I think arcade is a style. You're basically saying substance is bad. Having the ability to sprint and get boosts of speed SOMETIMES but not always is what it is, and it has balance considerations. Unless you actually want bunny hoping in this game, as a method of gaining speed... which I would say "helllll nooo". My point is, the feature has purpose and also has balance considerations. Sprinting as the normal speed is just insane. Vehicles are now way too slow. Maps are incorrectly sized. Everything is a mess. Its terrible. I'm not looking at it from the devs' point of view, this is mine. I don't even know what "eliminate bunny hoping" even means. If it means only eliminating people "jumping" instead of "running" because they're bored, no offense, that is one really dumb reason to utterly alter the balance of the game. But its way too late. The problem is the map size, and now we're stuck with this problem. Making us faster and removing sprint, or just making us slower and removing sprint... either solutions are terrible for the current state of the game and would only make it worse. You'd have to tell me why in this game, in its current state, short of redoing everything, how you can see removing stamina a good thing. I'm not seeing it.

    Question

I'm with this guy. Marathons can be so much more involved because of it. Its like being part of a much more fun fight than just a 30 minutes then forget game. All that without having to waste your life on a MMO grinding or something. I actually really hate when a rush is successful early on by the way. And its way too common.
  8. I'm personally still waiting for actual weapon drops and the ability to carry at least 2 weapons of any kind but thats something else. I personally remember a ammo station thing in the demo menu. The idea that someone can buy an ammo station and refill their friends (or buy it for yourself) is pretty neat. But dropping supply pack that recovers some ammo and armor is a neat idea, too. I'd be behind that. I'd even say "give 10 credits" on top of that (only if it was an enemy's pack) just because I find credits WAY too hard to get when the ref is down and all that. I'm not for the grenade change either. I find the choice fine as it is. Grenades or C4. I don't want to encourage more grenade spamming.
  9. EMP should never stop mines. They are already too weak and the game already depends too much on them (and we still need improvement on that front, you're in the team that doesn't mine properly you lose, and its not even close to fun). Making EMP stop mines is ludicrous. Disabling a building is INSANE power for a single infantry. Plain old no. Removing stealth is the only good idea in this topic. And no, don't lower the price. Its a huge tool as it is. And don't do any hud disabling crap. Lets stick to fun elements.
  10. I'm not talking about the look. The theme looks great. The presentation is good. Unfortunately, look is the very last factor of a good map. The problem is that big maps don't work. They just don't. Classic maps seems small, but everything works in them. The problem with the map is I just hate playing it. Its that simple. Its big, infantry is boring. Even Field is barely too big and empty and split that its a boring map. Its those kind of maps where I either play a tank or go to sleep. The point is I'd rather they focus on doing classics if their original maps have none of the attributes that makes classics good. I want a map where infantry and vehicles are in an harmonious fight. In maps like XMountain, just walking to the other side of the map takes a decade. I just don't understand the point of big maps. They are 10x more boring than anything else. But yes, I'm definitely an infantry lover. These aren't fun infantry maps. At all.
  11. I wish XMountain was not included after playing. Volcano is great, of course, based on the old classic. Then we get another map that has absolutely nothing to do with Renegade, that just seems to understand nothing of making maps for the game. Its just terrible to play in... actually far more boring than even Lakeside. And its oversized. Feels like a 5v5 with 20 players. The "new" maps are always so much worse. Can't we just stick to classics?
  12. No... I guess they can't get them all in one patch, uh. And I thought I wouldn't have to use my overlay program anymore.
  13. Oh, I see. I'm sorry then. I've worked (played around) with Unreal Engine before to an extent (the older ones), I didn't expect this sort of limitations here. Unreal was always about being so open. Its sad that a free project can't get this functionality.
  14. This whole "needs to join the team" just to get access to the editor is all that will prevent 99% of the custom maps to be made... I still don't understand why it has to be this way. Don't underestimate people.
  15. The way I'd accept a melee attack in this game basically means it has to be useless. You don't want backstabbing, it would be awful. That also means you don't want some sort of stun effects that gives you an easy kill. And since it can't be killing things easily, its hard to not make it useless compared to any weapons. Maybe a melee attack intended only to push people away, without really stunning them. As a means to stop them from advancing. All in all, not much point to it, though.
  16. A ridiculously pointless exercise when we're not even done with Renegade X on UE3. Bring this back in 10 years for UE6 or whatever.
  17. May I say that those ideas are pretty bad. Giving good players an even bigger advantage over time makes no sense. They already get more cash for being alive and are better players, veterancy not only starts being ridiculous but completely unbalances various aspects of the game. Maybe at least limiting it to auto-healing (and make that not kick in easily), but even then this is a crazy strong ability. Most other ideas in the topic also are severely overpowering traits to just "gain" by doing better. As much as I like the idea of having those perks for my personal self, this is just not a good idea overall. Whats next, havoc can one hit kill 250 health units? Survive a headshot? You can make the veterancy cosmetic, or give very small benefits, but lets not get insane.
  18. Sorry, I'm just overly direct by nature. It wasn't deserved there.
  19. Doom's rocket jumping isn't really rocket "jumping" when it only helps horizontally. But you said episode 2, this is episode 3. I did search, and I found nothing, because you pointed at the wrong episode.
  20. With all due respect, what the heck are you talking about? This is a plain lie.
  21. What the hell was that. Nobody goes Linux to play games, so why the hell is the comparison even here? I'm always looking, by the way. This topic is just another one asking for things I missed. Clearly I did not miss anything.
  22. I saw the idea before around here. I'm personally against it. Stolen vehicles have a chance to be ignored, even if only for a very small amount of time. I've shot people a few times with a stolen vehicle sometimes before they realized hey, I'm an enemy. Other than that reason, it would mean vehicles would magically change colors in the middle of the battlefield, which I think would just look a bit too silly. I just see no reason for it.
  23. McFarland is ridiculously overpowered and breaks the entire infantry balance by himself.
  24. Yeah we ... don't see eye to eye at all. Sorry. I am very bitter, though, yes. I can't find multiplayer games I like. I always have gigantic problems finding anything I enjoy these days.
  25. I know about PS2, and I'm sorry, but its a very disgusting game. Has all the horrors of modern FPS I hate and its probably the most disgusting F2P model I know. It takes ridiculous amount of times to unlock anything (or a ridiculous amount of money). I got bored of Tribes Ascend because unlocking everything was going to take 120 hours. Some single weapon in PS2 can take 40 hours. You have no idea how disgusting this is to me. First time I heard about the game I actually was excited since in some ways it made me think of Renegade, but its easily one of the least fun FPS I have -ever- tried in my entire life. The fights are beyond horrible, the game is a never ending back and forth and there's nothing but tedious in every part of the game and its gameplay. You couldn't find a better example of how NOT to do everything in a shooter than Planetside 2. Sorry.
