Shells were awesome. I loved all that they implied, the potential ridiculous rushes, and also a potential way to "steal" vehicles. I want that feature (along with weapon drops -> with slight limits for stealth and such) so badly, but I don't know what Renegade X thinks of them at this point. -
Oh god, this again. You know what I think? I think boosting people upward as a mechanic should be embraced and even added to infantry so that they can use multiple people to boost someone up a higher wall. You want to know why? Because it leads to things that are less common and brings variety to the game. It means every little wall isn't just an ultimate blocker. A game can't be utterly linear in its gameplay design otherwise it leads to unchanging scenarios. Embrace this instead of bashing this to oblivion. If you want to get to the stealth problem, there's an entire other issue there. Because stealth needs quite a bit of tweaking.

Vehicles driving underneath other vehicles

But it is failure. A lot of vehicles being unable to block other vehicles from passing is a HUGE blow to a very basic role of any vehicle. A light tank that can't block an APC from going through because they just roll over you is a serious issue. -
Well, the maps are FILLED with illogical blockers. I'm one that thinks infantries should be able to go ANWYHERE they see on foot (not counting places you could "drop" with air vehicles, its fine if you limit air vehicles logically, but thats about it). Unfortunately you'll get your path stopped anywhere, but the problem is it seems to be intentional. Instead of making maps flow logically, they just don't. At all. Sure, you're focusing on air vehicles, but lets be honest here. Either way, we'd have dozens of pictures of obvious spots that can't be passed or just walked to. The entire thing needs a major fixing, because its terrible design.

I don't think "matchmaking" as such is appropriate. Instead what games like these needs is a way to put the community together. For instance, some global chatting system. Thats always a good start to organize games with people that aren't playing. Other ideas would be a system that allows people not playing to organize with each other (just more easily than just telling people). So you would spot someone that wants to play a game but needs more players before the game starts, and people join until there's enough, and they all join a specified server. Thats probably overkill though. Just a global chat for everyone would do wonders for the community, however. -

I thought what he said was a bit like the Weapons you can buy, although nobody really uses this, if you buy multiple weapons you can always switch at the character screen until you die. (you can have like 5 weapons in the list at the top left) So basically, if you buy Havoc, then you switch to Mobius, you can switch between the two at will, but once you die (with either) you lose access to both. This would give a bigger edge to the defender, though. I only wish I could do this. If nothing else, I wish I could give my "weapon" to someone else when switching. -

Why a vehicle? There was a motion sensor seen as a special item in the closed beta (that wasn't implemented, just in the menu). I personally like the idea that GDI could just buy those and place them as highly vulnerable sensors that completely prevent cloaking within a zone of effect (maybe even only in line of sight of the sensor). I don't like vehicles being that solution, personally.

A Nod team full of SBH isn't supposed to be good. In fact its supposed to be terrible for Nod. If that ain't the case then thats what needs to be changed. Not something to arbitrarily limit them. Its a terrible idea.

Bots are bad and just ruin any game they are in. And I'd bet most people run solo. I'm not going to sit in an empty server until it fills up. Especially when you have less than an hour to give to the game. You just want a game with people in it and you just want to play. Mind you, I don't bitch about my ping in a distant server. But heck, thats all I ever get to play, NA is dead. I only ever get to play in a distant server, otherwise I'd basically not play. I don't even enjoy the game when there's less than 30 players. -
If you agree with him, then shut up and go elsewhere. Barging into a topic to tell people to shut up talking about something you don't care about, is retarded. Topic was fine and probably didn't need that much attention. Yes, its a small thing. People that care say something, or argue about it. Thats it. Thats all.

The EVA message spam was pretty effective for urgency. It still is, but only works with Q. Anyway, I agree with Xpert's post overall. There needs a limit, just a much more lenient one.

Nope. I don't even play when servers can't fill up to 40, which is my actual minimum player count. Need it back to 64, but don't even have the population for it. NA had a popular 24-max player server running early but now NA is dead.

Its stupid. If anyone wants a vehicle they can ask, and if you have too much money on your hand ask for donation or just use V to see who needs money. Sure, its less of a problem when there's base defenses but it can still go wrong (there's nothing more stupid than an APC rush and they get to drive a mammoth tank because an idiot in the team is spending all his money on "free mammies", which nobody wants). You just don't buy vehicles you're not going to drive if nobody asked for it. Period. I consider that intentional griefing. -

Whats the point of mods with such a small community? Like was said though, we really should just be waiting out for a true release. Hopefully the game can get some kind of hype again on a true release thats actually working. If anything, I'd close the current version of the game, call it closed beta again and be done with it. Nobody should be joining the game now.

I don't agree with oversizing things simply because already I feel like Field is just that limit too large, making tanks consistantly out of range of artillery. Part of the reasons why I think completely open maps like Lakeside are utterly stupid in Renegade. Yeah sure its great in theory.. except everything has such low range... except a few things which becomes utterly broken. -
...40 is too small. Why people get mad when their solo ass can't solo an enemy base? Oh I'm so fucking sorry about that. If SBH can sneak through in a 40 players game but GDI can't, then the GDI team is shit.

I'm one that hates sniper covers and one shot kills in this game. In all FPS I despise it. Getting shot at from a mile where only snipers can threatened you goes against even Renegade from what I actually enjoy about it. -

Have to agree there, death can't remove the perks, otherwise it kinds of gets in the way of the game. There's also too much one-hit kill to make that fun. Bonuses that are available for the rest of the game however could be interesting. -
