  1. For the most part the fast in-game map downloader works well. The only time it has issues is when a player tries to download a large map file with it. With maps like Frostbite and Hourglass, it can take a long time to download the map and environment file. Frostbite is a 207 MB map file + 81 MB for the environment file, and then it takes a bit longer to load building shaders for the first time. Hourglass is a 188 MB map file + another 208 MB for the environment file. Which is why Hourglass has not been added to any server currently because the environment file takes a while to download.

  3. Could we include 'Building Artist' in this? There are some members currently working on bringing back the other C&C Renegade buildings. (Ex: threads in Works in Progress by DaKuja, Veyron, TK0104, Henk)
    The largest and most detailed map in the game. Most of the buildings are slightly modified with additional walls or ladders. Map features Security Room with MCT for both teams, with cameras situated in various locations around the base. There are ceiling turrets that will re-spawn as long as the Security Room is active.
  4. The tech-building Medical Center doesn't seem to work, when captured it wont increase your health or auto-heal your character. I think the GDI/Nod Tiberium Silos could be moved closer to the other buildings. When playing a game recently it was hard to run from another building to disarm a beacon at the Nod Silo, or run there to repair it when it's under attack.
    A unique map with multiple paths leading into each base, lots of crates, and GDI/Nod Tiberium Silos.
  5. Some of those maps are not set up with the fast in-game downloader. WoodsV2, Forest and UphillRedux will download very slowly if someone tries to load the map and it's not already installed manually.
  6. A remake of Metro for Renegade X would be amazing. I remember playing this map in C&C Renegade and also in A Path Beyond.
  7. I'm not seeing a sky on your map, just purple/grey missing textures where the sky is supposed to be.

  9. Unfortunately, the original poster is no longer active and the link for the Mac wrapper is no longer available. Does anyone still have the wrapper, and successfully got it working with the latest version of RenX? I would like to test this on some Mac systems to see how well the game runs.
  10. You might want to manually install CNC-Headlands on your server again. The environments in CNC-River are outdated by a few months, and are more up to date in the latest version of CNC-Headlands. At the moment we can't join the server when Headlands or River are running because the files are out of date. Headlands and River use the same .upk environment packages.
  11. It's great that they are hosting a few of the custom maps like Paradise and Frostbite.
  12. I like River, it's a nice map. The bases are large with a spacious layout and the best part is that both bases feature an additional building.

The Construction Yard was in the original C&C Renegade multiplayer on a few custom maps, it would auto-repair all buildings in the base automatically, at a rate faster than an Engineer but slower than a Hotwire/Tech. There are also other buildings from the original game, that would be easier to add like the GDI/Nod Repair Facility and GDI/Nod Helipad. It never rebuilt buildings in the original C&C Renegade multiplayer. Here's a video that someone else just posted, featuring a map with the Construction Yard:
  14. You could always start with much smaller and easier to model buildings like the GDI/Nod Repair Facility and GDI/Nod Helipad. Henk made a Repair Facility mesh that uses Kismet, for CNC-Reservoir in the first version of that map, and Kenz made a Helipad mesh for CNC-BeachHead. I would start with those buildings, maybe make the Helipad resemble the original Renegade one as Kenz's looks like the Tiberian Dawn Helipad.
  15. I think the Repair Facility still needs a script so that it becomes a destructible building.
  16. I was thinking they could be used on some custom maps, similar to how GDI has a drivable Hovercraft on Coastal Small. The Hovercraft arrives on the beach and there is an EVA quote "Hovercraft ready", then it will arrive again when the Hovercraft is destroyed. There are already Nod EVA quotes in the SDK for "SSM Launcher ready"
  17. Any thoughts on bringing back the other Nod vehicles from C&C Renegade, as we already have the other GDI vehicles (drivable Hovercraft and A-10).
  18. The Nod SSM Launcher in C&C Renegade resembles a SCUD Launcher (MAZ TEL) There are EVA quotes in the SDK for the SSM Launcher.
  19. Your 3D printed Communications Center looks much better than the current 'Communications Center Tech Building'.... which is way too small and looks nothing like the original Communications Center.
  20. Great job, games will last longer on this map because of the additional building.
