  1. its working on a windows 8 and i have directly uninstalled it and installed once again. What version of the launcher do you have? I had the following: Beta3 installed somewhere Beta4 installed somewhere When I started the launcher I actually got the Beta3 one. So no updates for me. Don't believe this is the case, but just to make sure.
  2. Sorry, i dont see a big different to the early betas. Defending only one building was always easy. But with the new changes, the defending team has now better abilitys to attack. And one thing more, if you have trouble to kill one single building: USE TEAMPLAY. (could't resits to say that) Hehe Teamplay, sometimes it takes more time to organize one rush with 5 people than it takes to make the rush fail. On TmX I basicly know the outcome of a match when I join based on who is playing and how (or even if) they are reacting. So I would use teamplay if I could But about the fact of defending one building... It's actually VERY different. In the past you had ALL resources (in the situation your base is still there) to attack. Basicly you could just kill their last vehicles and special units, than remove mines or do a tankrush combined mpared with beacon. Now: - The costs are lower for the 'enemy' which has lost PP - Can still buy tier 1 character (chemrush kills entire rush of 10 ppl alone) - Can still get any tank - Can still get money in even with REF down But let's imagine that the REF is still alive, but the rest down. In this case you can just dig in, mine the entire building with 30/40/80/90 mines depending on server. The cheap rocketsoldiers (Nod, not sure what GDI equivalent is, patch?) can take down orca's in four shots and hold of tanks. You can buy vehicles also. So there is just no 'smoke them out' tactic / let them starve off tactic possible. I've seen winning teams (rush in first 10 minutes with 10 tanks and killed 3 out of 4 buildings ) lose cause they lost morale after trying over ten attacks which they enemy just easily held off defending that single building. So: it's quite different than Beta1/2/3. I have t say one off my best games ever was when we only had the HON in (I guess) Beta3 and where we were able to hold off rushes for 20 minutes. It was a good fight which we lost. But we delayed the enemy for as long as we could, while the enemy weakened us every round which kept them motivated. Now there is less weakening, so easier chance of morale loss.
  3. Too bad nobody helped you yet and I am not sure what to do about it either. I suggest you first try to run the launcher as administrator to see what happens?
  4. Can we just make a poll about it or come up with some other way to really measure what the people think? As far as I have seen only 1/3 or 1/4 favours the system, while most people are against it. - Server side option would be cool - Special options coming online after x amount of time (so airdrop after strip is down 20 min, OR in last 5 min of game). Now, as posted above, you are actually better off if you have to defend just ONE building. If it's properly mined and a non flying map than it's almost impossible to get it down as an enemy team. The rocket soldiers and chemsprayers basically kill everything and the 'credit' reload time is so quick that you can just buy them over and over again.

    One hour won't kill me. But Skeeze from TmX is moving and I believe B0ng only has access to the server since a few days. But if he didn't the server would be down for who knows how long. It's not a complain, mildly a suggestion.

    Good news that there is a second update this week, but... I guess it would be a good idea to plan the updates, either once a week on a specific time or announce them a few days in advance. Today the update became available, but after the client update no server was updated and that's still the fact with 'our' TmX server right now. So I am happy with the bugfixes, but I can't play

  9. I've seen the other posts and it's not that I am against your initiative. It's more that I think timing (and politics / the way you approach this) are more important than just launching a petition. In order to make things succeed al these factors have to taken in mind. Having that said: It's hard to discuss with someone who will only see one side. Sure the initiative is good, but as posted above my post the developers do not want this petition at this moment. I've been trying to make you understand this in my other reactions. I know a guy who stopped eating to get media attention for a family who was going to be expelled from our country. His reasons where sincere, but after his action hit the media the family distanced itself from him. They didn't want the action and they didn't want him to do a hunger strike. Point you may ask? Your reasons are right, your approach isn't. Don't let yourself get blinded by what you want to do to highlight a certain point. But ask yourself what you can really do to help the community.
  10. The new system created some really odd situations yesterday. For example: - A flamerush was gathered as soon as we could and took out all GDI buildings except ref. - From the point Nod had the advantage - GDI still won by camping the REF (one building to defend) and continuously spamming vehicles. Seen this behavior multiple times. Sometimes it's better to just let your strip and some other buildings die so the enemy can pointwhore. Than, with the lower costs (only 50% added with PP down), income still available from REF and tanks still spamming from airdrop you can easy win. Basically letting the enemy kill half your base is a valuable tactic now. Cause you only have to defend one building and can focus almost the entire team on attacking.

Right now the gameplay might still be adjusted, or other things. The developers are focusing on bug fixes and other things before the even concentrate on Steam...
  12. Yep count in smoke grenades and emps: EMP + SBH --> easy stop rush: flamer attack to finish them, or just use arties Smoke Grenade --> Even more easy to reach WF / PP, but can do it without. Might play this evening and I think I am gonna count GDI and Nod wins / loses. So far I only played games with GDI losing, but can't compare based on a few matches.

  14. Your effort is appreciated, but I guess you should make the exploit video invisible so people will not massively use it. Just ask for a developer to contact you to send the link over? The forum is frequently crawled by Google so Ren-X exploits will be easy to find now. Unless there is a quick fix!

  18. First of all thanks for all the effort which was put in the new release! While beta testing I brought up concerns about the changes in field and mesa. While field doesn't bother me I have to say some changes in Mesa do. I like to know how other people feel about this. It's not that I want to (or am in a position to) force any changes, but feedback is always good. I knew the tunnel was 'removed' in Mesa for vehicles to prevent camping. The times I played beta4 I noticed: - Nod as usually has huge benefits of stealth through both sides - Nod Can pound the base from both sides now while GDI has a harder time getting MRLS over --> SBH with c4 is end off MRLS - One chemguy can defend the whole tunnel all game and there is almost no way to get in. And believe me I tried all game... For me this lead to a game where Nod was camping us again (but now not from the usual spot) and we couldn't get out of the base, neither through tunnels nor via both sides. I feel like the changes are having the same 'camping' effect in a different spot, so this didn't lead to any gameplay advantages for now. Once the base defense is down, and the PP is easy reachable als NOD, there is just no way to stop them. It's to early to judge, but I want this topic to be a place to discuss they changes so everyone can give his / hers opinion.

  20. Make sure to get the new Beta4 release asap, and if it's still there we (not that I can do a lot about it) can always look fuhter. I guess it will just work.

  23. Please check with the developers what their plans are. So far they haven't made any announcements about what they are up to. Your intentions are good, but maybe the devs. don't want to draw attention to their game at this moment. Your petition might even harm the progress they've possibly made behind the scenes. Thanks for your effort, but I suggest disabling the petition for now until some feedback.
