  1. I would argue that that's actually good. I like big maps. They give more of an RTS feel to the game.

  3. Nah, writing to CEO would probably just get filtered among shitload of other spam he probably gets daily. IMHO last two people on that list would be better choice, since one is responsible for most of things related to games and other is in charge of "Corporate Social Responsibility", which sounds like the field where our issue falls into.
  4. Sadly yes. C&D in my previous message stands for Cease and desist, which means shutting down site and everything related to it. I would be all for it if intellectual property was held by some reasonable entity, but C&C IP is held by EA. EA are far from using reason and logic. Asking them to show empathy is like asking fish to climb a tree. That's why I believe that RenX team should not poke EA with legally questionable decisions. That is unless you find some legally non-problematic loophole where Totem Arts are completely 100% guaranteed to not get C&D'd and RenX doesn't get nuked into oblivion.
  5. I really wouldn't risk C&D due to "you didn't say we can't do that, so we did it" attitude. Don't get me wrong, I would give my testicles to see RenX come to Steam, but I think that at this moment ensuring RenX existence is more important than increasing playerbase.
  6. As much as I like Valve, I don't think they could do much in that regard. Also, if they were willing to take action, you would have to take Valve Time™ into account.
  7. I'm actually very interested to see how this mod would play. I couldn't find anywhere, are files publicly available? If not, dump everything to Moddb or Github or somewhere, so that people can get their hands and continue your hard work.

  12. I would say that this is true in case that nobody else responds to your constant Q-spam of said C4. It depends on how much time is left. If C4 was just planted, buy repair tool for 200 and Q-spam while disarming. From what I understand, repair tool was put in game so that you don't have to sell your unit. If there is multiple C4 and you are the only one there, it's worth to lose 1k unit to save building.
  13. That's an item, not team powerup. I don't think that any of those powerups would be welcome in current game mode, unless developers used some wizardry to make them balanced. Also you stole ideas for Iron Curtain and Chrono-thing from Red Alert 2. I would however like to see team-funding mechanic. Not necessarily used in current Command & Conquer game mode, but for other potential game modes. For example, I wish that one day we get game mode where team would need to pull resources together to build base and base defences. Also multiple harvesters and tiberium fields behaving like in RTS games (disappearing when harvested, spreading too far if not harvested).
  14. Don't be afraid to take damage or sacrifice yourself / your vehicle to deal damage in appropriate situations. Whenever you know you will get killed and can't do anything useful, drop timed C4, so that you can potentially deal damage even after you die. Works best in tunnels.

But yes, I agree that key should stay F and additional options would be the way to set how camera switching behaves. Even thinking about Renegade X + big map + aircraft (A-10 and Nod alternative) + cockpit view gives me a massive boner.

  18. Was just about to suggest that we should get back to the topic. I find it a little strange and and it almost disturbs me, that inside of Scrin ship has both Nod and GDI logos very nicely painted on the walls. I think it would be more reasonable if they were sprayed or if there was some other way of indicating faction sides. nicely painted logos indicate that ship was already entered, explored and possibly studied. That would make no reason for both bases be there and fight each other.

I don't know how exactly that agreement with EA goes about devs not getting any money, but if it is possible, I am willing to pay for hectoliters of any drink if that would fuel Yosh's good will to continue developing RenX. In fact, I asked in the past, if there is any loophole that could be used to enable any sort of monetary support for developers, but got no answers that could be effectively used without risk.

  25. Wait, are you saying that I should not use engineer's C4s to decrease number of flame tanks that just invaded my base? I don't see better free infantry counter to flame rush than engineers.
