  1. I saw you ask this question in the FAQ too. Could you provide us with a video and timestamp of when you see this occurring? Lots of videos here: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVDlE6qoDQlJ2AzRdMiEHCA and http://www.twitch.tv/thegunrun/profile/pastBroadcasts
  2. I believe the countdown number on the release page changes at midnight UTC/GMT. Problem is, there's no way to know if "0 days until release" means it's released already or if it means another 0 days 23 hours 59 minutes until release. (you get the idea).
  3. This is the first I've heard of needing steam to be on the leaderboards. Do they list you by your steam account then?
  4. From my understanding the topic creator thinks that this happens in Ren X but not in Ren.
  5. Someone on the dev team works at a server hosting company, and they won't host the game on third-party sites, so I think they're confident there will be enough download slots. This is very dangerous, as trying to fix these changes could cause more problems and next thing you know the game is delayed. Did they finish this already? Game is around 4 GB, as stated many times
  6. 1. I don't believe shotgun was changed. 2. Arty was nerfed with the arcing shots, removal of screen shake, and removal of damage through buildings, plus MRLS buff. The Nod advantage should be gone now. 3. Snipers no longer have the reticle dot in the dead center of the screen, to discourage no-scoping. 4. I too disagree with vehicle>infantry. Splash damage from most tank shells was terrible, APC was hard to aim, etc. I don't think damage against vehicles was improved for any weapon, but you can now buy an Armor-piercing gun to replace your pistol, even if your barracks/HON is destroyed so this helps infantry vs. vehicles.
  7. The apache animation could be due to the video recording software not capturing enough frames per second. Just my guess.
  8. Things like macro-enabled gaming mice, or real-time dpi switching, are hard to detect and really I've never seen anyone get banned for using them. I know for a fact that my old gaming mouse (Microsoft sidewinder) could easily program a 180 turn into any game. It'll probably be frowned upon by the community but I doubt they'll be bannable.
  9. Are there any legal issues with using old C&C music? From what I remember in the streams the music in Ren X was all new.
  10. probably around noon UTC That's a solid guess. I'm just wondering because if they release it at midnight UTC on the 26th, I would actually get it at 4 PM on the 25th as I live in PST (-8:00). And that would please me greatly because I hate the last few days of waiting the most.
  11. I believe all .ini lets you do is change settings that are already in the game settings menu, with the exception of breaking certain barriers like if you have a supersize monitor and want a higher resolution. Should be allowed as it provides no advantage.
  12. If I had to leave before a marathon game was finished, I'd come back the next day and ask, "Who won ?" and people would immediately know what I was talking about. Good times, though it always sucked to hear it ended by server crash.
  13. This could be gamebreaking actually.
  14. A ladder system is a must to keep people playing in the long run. Even something basic like the point-recording and recommendation system the original Ren had. Unlockables should only be cosmetic, no in-game advantages.
  15. Valor

    Dodging?

1:55, you see an SBH side-dodge to avoid being run over by an APC. This was obviously an older beta, so did it get added but was removed later? Would it ever be possible to return?
  16. I like Marathon too but without vehicle shells (no more massing 20 tanks) or endgame beacon, I feel in general marathon games will last a lot longer. But as long as the server is stable for extended periods of time, Marathon should still be enjoyable. Plus, new players are more likely to play timed matches as they would want to experience all the maps quickly.
  17. I believe they are very confident the servers can handle the download numbers. When Black Dawn was released there weren't any problems. P.S. Is there an exact time of release? Feb 26 doesn't mean much due to the different time zones.
  18. I see. I was just thinking about the old system where you could "forcerg" a suspected hacker and once they got 3 forcergs the game kicked them and they were suspended until they installed Renguard. It'd be cool to have the same thing with steam and VAC.
  19. Does logging in through Steam mean players will be subjected to the Steam anti-hack scanning (sort of like RenGuard). If so wouldn't that be a good thing?
  20. The guy who narrated this has a strangely soothing voice.
  21. That would depend on whether the creator allows it. Glacier won't be making it in for this reason.
  22. Is the debris solid, i.e. can you crash into it?
  23. In the latest dev Q&A it was said that free aim will be added later. http://www.twitch.tv/thegunrun/b/503949627 Personally I'm glad it's coming back. Helicopter fights weren't really interesting without free aim.
  24. Two things that bug me but aren't actually bugs. 1. The building icons on the bottom of the HUD aren't symmetrical between GDI and Nod. 2. The overall team score on the top right doesn't change position. GDI is always on top even if they have fewer points. Will these be changed? Will there be Xbox 360 controller or other gamepad support? Can we get an exact time of release? I'm planning on skipping work for the release.
