To be fair, stealth tank body IS based off a concept tank. Ask for Flame Tank, it is a rather default conveyer-tread chasis with a new turret piece.

It's in the preliminary notes. Who knows if it will be perfect though, doesn't hurt to conjecture. Might be better, might be worse, might be perfect, might just need the addition of basic tanks for each side. I am at least eager to try countering vehicles or attacking a base using apcs with gunners. At least we get to experiment and see if new tactics like gunner-apc are legit-or-shit.

I am ready to try out a lot of these changes if for anything then flavor. Some of these are ingenious ideas I.E. Emp Grenade instant 25% damage on mines followed by their slow disarm. Only things that may stand questionable to revert: 1) Emp Nades used to have a 2 second fuse. They instantly beat out rushes, you just threw one and the rush was scorched in place by base defences. Some maps like Under, without balance changes, will just get worse. The old fuse was WAY too long, but 4.5 was a better timer for them. 2) Airdrops have two already tested things, an abundant test, and an absent test (pre-airdrop). In the middle, they were still problematic. I always felt a cost that became higher with each purchase was better, in leau of limits, or at least being able to buy bread&butter tanks for each class. Still will be nice to see the change in action however, maybe an APC full of gunners that jump out at enemy tanks might actually work (or get melted way too fast to make effect, but at least things will be tested) I want to try that apc-o'-gunners trick against an enemy with vehicles at least once, so I am excited for that.

How can I improve Internet connection power and reduce Ping?
RoundShades replied to Chrisjh0223's topic in Off Topic
It doesn't have to be dish shaped, but any router can have a firmware wipe to use custom downloaded firmware as a "reciever" with range equal to it's broadcast range (usually better than a computer reciever range). From there, I am not sure if it is possible to broadcast anymore though while it is recieving, just to lan-wire. There are routers that have 2 antenna that can do both IIRC, but those are also expensive, while a Linksys WRG is something like 25-40 bucks as long as you don't mind wiping it's firmware and installing your own and using it as a reciever-only with wired output. -
The devs themselves are willing to front the 100 if they could get an EA word of approval on doing so. They are hesitant to do so without EA approving, and so far they have asked EA on more than 1 occasion and haven't gotten anything answer back either way. Since the C&C cancellation, they have had radio silence, that EALA was their inside connection before they went dark.

It was months ago, but I did ask, it was mildly roundabout but at that point I was given a nearly definite answer that nobody had started another attempt yet. I'll ask if anyone has since the tibsun vehicle addition. Honestly, he seems to have a lot done himself too, so it isn't like we are starting at the longest point. Take his, add mesh, detail midfield, detail the 2 buildings that do have interior, done. Of course it isn't ever exactly that simple, there are bound to be lengthy testing to make sure neither side is too OP or the harvester dumps are too uneven, but starting with a map shell with functioning placement and correct ratios, one can more quickly place functional map elements.

I have been tied up for a very long time personally, but I was wondering how much progress you have made on City Flying. I was working on that a bit myself, and was wondering if I could either help you or vice versa. So far, I have a layout with CSG and some textures, and it makes some changes from original CityFlying's layout, but I too could use at least a few mesh for urbanesque decoration that CSG can't do. Feel free to PM me. I am downloading the SDK for the first time on this machine I am using, since my unplanned move had interrupted my last attempt. That is, if the download will work, I am tempted to ask B0ng why he took the torrent link down because I will never get the file 3mbs per failed download attempt at a time.

I... am not sure how easy this would be to code... but would love to try this in practice just because. For infantry and vehicles, make it 1 second per 10 cost, and make it where you can buy it, it takes your money and starts the timer, then you can go off and do stuff, then you come back to a PT later to collect it when it's fully done. Maybe make it to where if you want something different, you have to cancel to recollect your investment and reselect something else and then re-wait. That is technically how C&C games work. As far as airdrop balance, the price can double and build time half, so it takes much higher for expensive vehicles, and much lower for cheaper ones. Doing the math, a 3k mammy would take 600 seconds, or 10 minutes. I always still just liked the idea of vehicles getting progressively more expensive each time you buy 1 after the factory is dead.

Yes, it may be a server mismatch requiring a launcher update. The file you are describing though, is a common mutator file that a server uses for various reasons, those usually are practically invisible to the client with how fast they download and how little they do.

Not sure if that guy was serious in getting help or is still even viewing this thread, but it still probably wasn't XP. I don't have a computer handy with XP to test, but you need to meet the requirements of UDK, which is whatever version of DX it has, which means you need fairly new drivers. If your computer is XP, but your last graphics drivers are also from XP, then you won't be able to run it. If you have new drivers, on old XP, it will run. Can this game run in wine as well? I hear Unreal games can run in wine, in which case I would also suggest just use Linux, Linux isn't the easiest to use but surpassed XP when XP was still supported as far as driver support. People will make free support drivers, better than the manufacturer and Microsoft will, is the sad part. Guess it is because Microsoft can't price gouge you for the drivers so they want nothing to do with it.

Thanks for all the hard work in resetting this up.

If it were implemented, it should be an infantry-accessible mechanic and should increase the rate of drops upon making it a requirement in order to get them. Here is an idea that is cheaper to code: Make crates reward the "Vehicle Airdrop" allowance. Maybe make them 12% findable, only for a player who's air/wf has been destroyed, and stack. That way, for a team to rush, besides higher vehicle cost, they at least have to save up the airdrop crate allowances. Besides that, it also allows for rushes to be massed faster (airdrop can have shorter wait time to comphensate). Credits would still be a factor, making economy still important.

viewtopic.php?f=34&t=75193&hilit=mac Here are some breadcrumbs to follow. Summary is as follows: 1) Unreal is capable of running in Mac. Other games do at least. 2) I think Unreal uses a lot of DX which means it shouldn't, but from what I heard it does. 3) Someone in B1-B2 made a Mac Launcher, but never kept it updated last 3 updates to the game, or for a year or so. 4) You would think you take their launcher and replace their copy of RenX with assets from a current version download, but I don't think that has worked. 5) Same as above but with another Unreal based game, maybe Dungeon Defenders or something with Mac support but try to replace every last asset and coding and settings file and such with RenX.

He isn't DDOSing the servers. Bong honestly has no interest in hosting for the game to be fair. He does it as a necessity because of some niche community things that came up. He was okay with people using TMX and to less of an extent EKT (he just doesn't prefer marathon being the solely-populated server). When his server wasn't very frequently populated, and when he was being DDOS'd and when it was successfully crashing his server, he also has a 7DaysToDie server and had opted to turn off his RenegadeX server so it stopped costing him his much better running 7Days server. He is still being DDOS'd from what I understand, but between better blocking the DDOS so it doesn't crash his server (but is still noticed when happens) and being encouraged to because of a playable server while DDOS are a threat, he has been encouraged to keep his server up. Besides, he wouldn't DDOS RenX, server or not he would not intentionally depopulate this game either. He knows it needs help, and this is the farthest thing from it. To be fair, my guess personally, was someone from Old Renegade, they would likely be the kind of person to do it because they don't want RenX to be successful and split population from them. But that was my guess, it is entirely unfounded and not very specific anyway. Not that it would stop the attacks anyway. And I respect Sega for saying that the community needs unification. Clan affiliation is fun and all, but the United Alliance, United League, and Alliance League, all need to come together instead of fighting some sort of petty war, if for nothing else then at least for a common goal such as DDOS protection. It will kill them all if they don't stand together, considering the game is all they are and it is definitely being hurt from it. You would think they would WANT to defend it and do all they could, including work together to end the DDOS shtuff...

Just so you guys know. I havent been around or attending pickup games about 3 weeks now because I recently had an unexpected moving (personal choice due to falling out with someone), and I was ready to play the last saturday pug but my rabbit died that morning and I was really close to it so it was a big damper on that day and I couldn't bring myself to play. Trying ever so hard to come back. Maybe bring some of my new roommates into playing it.

1:00 PM Central US 6:00 PM GMT It is the same every week. But I will work on countdown timer for the next weeks game. I have been unable to attend because I moved very unexpectedly and having life issues and all. I made it online 1 hr late for this pug, with no install of RenX, so I will try better next time? Speaking of, how well was the new update? You guys do all 3 new maps? How about building armor, did it help or hurt the gameplay at all?

Failed to download SunX package... Matrix Ren Server?
RoundShades replied to Alkaline!'s topic in Renegade X
SunX I believe is actually their overmining mutator, that calls out if you mine when the limit is reached so the team isn't surprised when a building is missing them. Why you can't install it through the unreal protocol idk. You maybe, maybe, could go to thematrixren.net and ask them for a copy of the mutator package, and where to drop it at manually. -

I don't know why I didn't mention, but crates would be nice too. Right now economy is extremely scarce not just from lack of ref and lower from silos, but also simply because 100 credit crates are entirely absent. Someone should have mentioned this by now, I don't know why I didn't but everyone else who let this go is just as bad. -
URGENT: indicate people where to download update
RoundShades replied to Ryz's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
The launcher is supposed to check for a new version, but it wouldn't hurt to have a manual check button, or even a link to a dev forum-post where the dev is editing to keep the latest version and manual-download at. -

Weren't you playing in the TMX game the night of release, when everyone was saying it was GDI favored and pissing and moaning it like it was a sign of the death of world order across the globe? Now all of a sudden it's Nod based. Sigh. So far I haven't been able to make this in Kismet (tried it a couple of weeks ago, with a hidden silo way out of the playing area), can't seem to set a silo to a specific team via Kismet. You also couldn't link the MCT healths? Perhaps that wouldn't solve the problem, but perhaps. This may also seem like a crazy suggestion, but it sounds good to me so... Have you ever considered, 3 more silos? That would add a bit more cash, and give a little more fighting over silos. Could put 1 more per team in-base as a near-guarantee, and one in the center-path in middle of map. -
As far as the greyed out vehicles, that much is a reasonable display error, i'd accept that players should know better. As far as the vehicles spawning fast enough to destroy the previous one, there should be a vehicle spawn delay, he should set that higher if possible for tibsun vehicles.
-
I have known about this always. This... this was a secret? Go me! Yes, the controller does it. IIRC, it can't be unbound, didn't think why that was a big deal cuz nobody plays professionally with controller. Then again, you COULD keep one plugged in and ready but use M+KB anyway.

Not if vehicle blocking volumes are placed where they shouldn't be. This might be borderline "blocks people when they can't tell", but they should be able to tell to not put the vehicles on the plateau. Obviously, the hope is that the vehicle will hang up the carrying Chinook preventing it from flying into vehicle blockers.

I was absent a week. I had a rough week, and honestly I took off to hang with friends. He set his computer to Win10 on friday, woke up saturday to the BadBootConfigurationError and spent all of saturday reinstalling 7, installing all 120 updates to 7, reinstalling 10, and reinstalling his files... Glad it went well.
