  1. So there's a hooker on the other side waiting to blow you?
  2. Oh come on, there's got to be more interest in this. I remember when I first got Renegade I was like "What the fuck? Where's the god damn bike? And how come I can't build bases?" but back to the bike: I've played Renegade to DEATH. For like 10 years, over and over again, I've used every single class and every single vehicle. Except for the Bike. Alright so after some lengthy discussion, we've cut thru all the nonsense and finally got to the main reason why Bikes haven't been fully implemented: their damage output is equal to the stealth tanks, meaning, $500 bike rushes would for the most part be too OP for GDI to handle. The first solution to this problem is the simplest: Up the price to $800. I'd prefer lore accuracy though. Keep the Bike at $500, but lower it's damage output near the rocket soldier's level. Like how the Attack Buggy's weapon is a more powerful version of the Officer's chaingun, the Recon Bike's missiles are a more powerful version of the rocket launcher. Perhaps lower the bike's damage s little bit and then lower the rate-of-fire enough to lessen the overall damage-per-second. I gotta do some tests.
  3. lolwut? I didn't de-rail anything, I addressed one of OP's topics: ^ ^ What I said in my original reply to this was "don't put yourself in a position to be called such a thing." IE buck up. I said it cheekier than that but it was by no means worth deletion and a 20 day ban lol. You and your moderators gotta loosen up. I also mentioned xbox live, playstation network and steam voice chat contain tons of swearing foreigners in games more popular than RenX, so OP's logic that foreigners won't play this game because they were called a "swear" they might not even understand makes no sense. lolwut? Now THIS is de-railing. How come this guy ain't getting a 20 day ban, huh? I think he's trying to say someone's house is full of shit? Good game though. I've had no issues with foreigners swearing at me, and vice versa, and I've yet to see anyone get THAT triggered and quit the game. So in conclusion: @dabigma RenX ain't gonna lose players due to cheeky banter, you got nothing to worry about. EDIT: lol one of the moderators is still going on a censor trip. He or she keeps removing sentences in my posts, even though once again, I used no profanity, I didn't break any rules, it was on topic, it flowed logically with the rest of the post, etc. To the moderator who keeps doing this - you do realize that by removing this sentence: "I see there's quite the SJW echo chamber here on these forums. A shame." You just prove my point entirely? lol you completely change my original post and then 20 day ban me for "abuse," which is ridiculous - OP was not abused in any way, just one of his sillier ideas ridiculed, but the ridicule was fair and warranted. Now, what YOU are doing would be considered actual abuse - Mod abuse. But I'm not complaining. Just stating some facts, that's all. Setting the record straight.
  4. You're excused. But lets be real - shit talking has existed forever in not only videogames but in every competitive outlet, like sports, betting, racing, boardgames, whatever, everything. No amount of SJW wishful thinking on your part is going to change this. But I like the rest of your ideas, especially the more noticeable player map marker one and the battlefield style turret icon to show you which way you;re facing from the tank chassis.
  5. Now THIS is more like it; this is actually a good idea. Give us more bright ideas like this.
  6. It does VERY sharp turns when not accelerating. It is pretty insane, so the devs might want to tone the turn speed down a bit. But who ever is driving that bike making those sharp turns on you is unable to fire off clean shots, he's in full retreat. As soon as you corner a bike, he's dead. They are not hard to counter, they are hard to use. Practice makes perfect. Obviously a bike at max speed cutting around a corner is going to be difficult to hit. But once you do hit it it's basically dead. It's the weakest unit in the game. Don't rely on the tracking, lead your shots better next time so you actually hit it. My advice when driving a bike: don't hold down the left/right direction key for too long. Otherwise you'll spin too far into your turn and completely mess up your aim. If the bike was in all the maps, we'd get to practice using it every match, not just occasionally. Then you can get better and figure out all the nuances to it. On one of the maps at least, the bike is indeed very cheap - $250. It's supposed to be $500, so that's a map issue, not a unit issue. Also, If you're worried about early rushes, we could boost the price to $800. The bike should be more of a novelty, not a go-to strategy, so I'd say either make it less effective or increase it's cost. As for GDI having a counter to the bike? Well anything that counters the buggy also counters the bike, more or less, especially anti tank mines and EMP grenades. So GDI doesn't really need a new unit specifically for countering the bike. And I don't want GDI getting their own bike; the bike is Nod's toy, not GDI's. Keep it lore friendly. If GDI really wants a new unit, I'd suggest the rocket hum-vee. A self explanatory unit - functions like a hum-vee, fires homing rockets like the bike. It's a light load for the dev team; just take the already existing hum-vee model and swap out it's machine gun with a rocket launcher. Price it at $550; just like how the hum-vee is 50 dollars more expensive than the buggy, the rocket hum-vee is 50 dollars more expensive than the Recon Bike. I'm 90 percent sure that the stock maps would play out more or less the same if Bikes were added for Nod. Bikes are basically faster smaller buggies with no passengers. We've already tested them in the original Renegade with the original maps, and it worked out fine. Implementing the recon bike in Renegade X shouldn't be too demanding on the dev's part, and if it has to be rolled back it's not the end of the world, since the bike still exists in those other maps. In Renegade X there's a build limit for all vehicles, so in any game, unless the entire GDI team is asleep, GDI should be able to fight off any minor bike spam allowed to occur out of the small vehicle pool limited to 11 vehicles. lol yeah the Attack Cycle was epic. It was like an MLRS on speed. But the Recon Bike is more balanced. She is in no way an abomination. Those personality traits of hers you speak of are only a reflection of your own personal interactions with her; she doesn't treat everyone the same way she treats you. However, there's always room for improvement. First and foremost, she gotta lay off the crack. That's what makes her act so crazy, FYI. But it also makes her a demon in the sack - after toking a huge crack blast she can deepthroat like nobody's business. But that's a story for another time. You can change their damage dealing. My idea is an experiment with the North American server, since there's plenty of fresh meat over there willing to try out new things. Implement the bikes for Nod into all maps priced at $800. Or price it at $500 but lower it's weapon damage so it's not as powerful as the stealth tank's. Lower the rate-of-fire I'd say. With either change comes less incentive for players to buy the bike over the stealth tank/STANK. Also, bikes are definitely no replacement for light tanks and artillery, so I doubt players would change their build habits much. If the bike is implemented properly, and it will be, players on both teams would barely notice it's addition, because there are no obtuse changes to the meta game - matches still play out relatively the same as they did before without the bikes. The bike is just one more toy for the C&C sandbox, a toy that was always supposed to be in that sandbox. I don't imagine a bike rush in Renegade X would be much worse than a rocket officer rush, and like always, most players will find ways to counter it. In fact they've already found out how to counter it, thanks to their past dealings with the buggies - anything that counters a buggy counters a bike. There is no learning curve for destroying bikes, just driving them. Also, if GDI wants a new toy, maybe find someone who wants to model a hum-vee with a rocket launcher, so that you can offer GDI a similar unit to the bike in the form of a rocket hum-vee. We did the same in OG Renegade. Remember the Recon Bike was actually in Renegade multiplayer. It was cut out at the last minute because the programers ran out of development time, so the physics for the bike were never coded right. Hence why players only saw the bike once in the campaign, and it was in a cutscene FFS. lol, you couldn't even drive the bike! That was such a let down. But years later, with massive improvements from modders like the tiberian technologies group, some servers re-implemented the recon bike, with it's physics fixed up and it's damage output and health balanced. Then they put in a TOW rocket hum-vee for GDI, which was similarily playtested and balanced out. As far as I could tell adding in those two units worked out just fine, for we had some great matches, on the original maps too. It was a blast. They were implemented properly, so both teams barely noticed their additions. Games still came down to the same tried-and-true strategies.
  7. Thanks to all these new players I've been able to binge games, match after match; I've been playing a lot recently. I'd say the gameplay is well balanced and every unit is useful. We had some great matches on those tiberian sun maps with the expanded vehicle roster. I see the Attack Cycle has been taken out and replaced by the much less over powered Recon Bike. I finally got a chance to use the Recon Bike for a good chunk of time, and it's definitely not over powered. How could it be? It's a niche unit with paper armor. It's difficult to drive at first but once you get the hang of it it's really fun, and it's useful - you can race to the front line with a technician and help out the tanks and artillery, can chase down retreating mammoth tanks and finish them off, can flank their position and run over the engineers repairing, can lay down some decent fire power on tanks and buildings. But it's in no way a game changer, as some people wrongly thought. It's not like if they're added then GDI is suddenly going to get wrecked every time. It's just another part of Nod's arsenal, with a LOT of people being puzzled over it's absence. It's an iconic unit for Nod that makes playing as Nod more fun. So lets bring it back into the fold.
  8. It's Nod not NOD; this isn't the New Order of Democracy, this is the Brotherhood of Nod. Yeah it's about fucking time the north american server is bustling. And all it took was a little video about tiberian sun. Been playing non stop games having a blast. Good teamwork too. Game optimization seems better as well.
  9. Well it's not rocket science there tuts but to spell it out for you: Before DenWellington didn't want anything new added to Ren X (Bike) but now here he's showcasing potential new additions. SMH
  10. @DenWellingston So you do like new things? Well then stop voting against the Recon Bike lol. You can counter the Recon Bike the same way you counter the Attack Buggy. All of this Tiberian Sun stuff looks great, I'd love to be able to access this thru a game mode or map.
  11. @vandal If I had it my way he'd be on Nod's roster as an alternate skin for the normal Raveshaw, although that brings up question: is there anyway to choose alternate skins in Ren X's purchase menu, like you could in OG Renegade? I miss Mobius power suit alternate skin too. But back to the topic, the other idea was all human players are on the same team versus the AI swarms of mutants. Thing is that sounds like it would be more difficult to do than a modifier, because the game is designed with the two factions, so there'd have to be a new interface made up and everything.
  12. buttons mentioned this and I thought it was a great idea. Would anyone be interested in a zombie apocalypse map/gamemode? Maybe just a modifier on maps that spawns AI controlled tiberian mutants near the mid section borders of a map that are hostile towards both GDI and Nod. ^^^ lol these are the OG Renegade mutants. ^^^ and this is teh visceroid
  13. You guys should be dreaming of Recon Bikes poppin wheelies liek this: That's a great idea. Best part is you don't need super smart AI, and it's even lore friendly - the zombies would be humans mutated by tiberium, and even animals. Oh snap that's an excuse to add the tiberium visceroids
  14. I copied and pasted those two lines to the end of that section but then none of my keybinds worked in-game, not even the mouse worked, so I had to Ctrl Alt Delete end process then delete the UDKInput and start fresh. But after looking thru all the entries in UDKInput I found the left alt and left ctrl code, and I just copied it but changed left to right and radio1 to radio0.
  15. @buttons lol thanks but that didn't work at all. I fucked around myself and got it to work.
  16. Most OG Renegade players are addicted to Field and Under. Just look at the Rencorner server, all those dull bastards play those two same maps for hours and hours on end, just tunnel noobjetting all day, all night. I mean it's fun for the first 30 minutes, racking up those headshots, but it gets old fast. At least in Ren X there's less noobjets because the Ramjet isn't as OP, I think.
  17. "I think he's referring to the use of "ctrl + 1-0" and "alt + 1-0" for radio commands." Yes that was the first thing I mentioned in this thread. Right Alt and right Ctrl should do the same as left Alt and left Ctrl, which are voice commands, radio commands. @buttons Lets try this again: Using your left hand to press the left Alt and Ctrl keys while reaching for the number 9 key with the same hand is a bitch. I don't wanna take my right hand off of the mouse to hit the number key while my left hand is holding down Ctrl. That leaves me vulnerable. I just want both sets of Ctrl & Alt keys to function just as they did in original Renegade. If anyone could tell me what to do in the input config file to assign right Alt and right Ctrl keybinds for radio commands that would be great, and in the future, if the current devs could look into what the previous devs missed out on (putting ALL configurable keybinds into the options menu) that'd be great. One time I reassigned Ctrl to crouch and then lost all my Ctrl radio commands. I had to default everything which was annoying. Not a huge deal but it would be a very welcome quality-of-life improvement.
  18. Those keys have always done that by default in original Renegade. I mean just think about it, how the hell is your hand gonna hold Ctrl while reaching for 0? This is a busy game so my right hand is needed on the mouse at all times aiming and shooting at people. If my left hand could use the right side Ctrl & Alt for hitting those 7, 8, 9 and 0's then we'd all be gud. lol first the NOD misnomer and now this lack of thought. Did you even play original Renegade? Come on. Naw it's cool I'm just busting your chops. Anyways, in Ren X if anyone changes their crouch keybind from C to Ctrl (like it is in most FPS's) then they lose their Ctrl radio commands. I've never played with this game engine before, but just glancing thru the input config file I see there's multiple entries for one keybind. It's a mess to look at. Can't you just get all the keybind entries listed in the in-game options menu? Why aren't all the keybinds present in the options menu in the first place?
  19. What you need to do is get right alt and right control working for voice commands. It's awkward as hell while trying to use one hand to left ctrl-0. Is it an engine limitation or something?
  20. Nothing you have said has refuted any of my points. You have brought up potential problems and I have offered plenty of solutions, which you still haven't acknowledged. I fully understand that this will barely complicate the game at all, as I've already explained to you numerous times. lol do you hear me, chum? Huh? Are you actually paying attention there buddy boy? I have detailed to you PLENTY of counters to the bike. The anti-tank mines is one out of 10+ of my suggestions, don't just jump in after an absence and nitpick that one. This is a forum, you're supposed to thoroughly read ALL THE REPLIES before making your own. Since you don't speak English you must be having a hard time reading thru all of my comments thoroughly. lmao this is complete useless drivel here. Forget your half-assed analogies. Roweboat said nothing other than "Vote in the poll" then there's you and a couple others here who have done nothing except say "I don't like the idea." You also posed some potential scenarios ALL OF which I refuted, assuring that your meta game will stay intact. Huge fleet of vehicles? What in the god damn hell are you talking about? IT'S ONE BIKE. And maybe the TOW rocket humvee. No offense bud, but this is retarded. You are not fit for debating this at all, lol. I'm sorry but it's true. Adding a bike is not a "fleet of vehicles," for fucks sake. Adding a bike is not gonna turn Renegade X into Interim Apex. You are just spouting random non-sense at this point. Do yourself a favor and stop responding. You've said your piece - you don't like learning new things, plus you have a reading handicap, hence most of my information will be lost to you. All you're doing is repeating your rigid stance without trying to see the answers. Ultimately you are a vocal minority, and ultimately you will not care if there is a bike for Nod to buy. You will still play the game as you always have.
  21. I played a game on the map Walls; using an Attack Buggy I'd flank right side to stop MLRS's from camping our HON. <--- See? Now that's an abbreviation - Hand of Nod. You dumbasses, lol. Anyways, the whole time while playing, I was thinking "God dayum, for $200 bucks more, I could get a bike to take down those MLRS's myself, without the aid of a rocket soldier passenger or a light tank supporting me." The bike would work perfectly in that map just like it does in OG Renegade. To counter the bike, just use the same counters you use to the buggy. Like the Ramjet. The Ramjet is perfect for taking out buggies/bikes, just like it does in OG Renegade. Also, adding the recon bike will encourage more use of the anti-tank mine; in the map Walls there is one chokepoint vehicle entrance, so you can mine it no problem. Also, Orca's going up a against a Bike would have about the same difficulty they would have when dealing with Rocket Soldiers. It'll be slightly harder but hey, the Bike is anti-air anyways, and it has less health than an Orca does. So you'll be fine, sunshine. - - - - - - - - - - - The player base is missing out for no good reason other than a last minute dev decision enacted because they didn't want to upset the few people on the forums complaining, according to Lav4star. No offense Lava4star but that's bullshit - the many people who don't use the forum wouldn't have a problem. They already accepted the over-powered Attack Cycle in their LakeSide map rotation, so I'm sure they can handle a mainline and balanced Recon Bike. And if it turns out there is something wrong that was unforeseen, we just take it out. The majority of the player base will not mind experimenting with a new addition.
  22. You're gonna have to specify this latest warning. Was it because I said this to buttons: "What is wrong with you?" That was a friendly enough jab at the fact that she is one of the devs, and yet she still says Nod wrong lol. I forgot to put in a smiley face to lighten the delivery. Oops. And to be fair, the EA Games development team made the same mistake when they revisited the C&C franchise to make C&C3. When they started sending out news letters talking about the game, they too had mistakenly abbreviated Nod to NOD. We actually had to send them emails correcting them. I also told buttons she didn't have an argument. Which is true, and not "uncivilized" to say so. And as a favor for you, I edited that comment to make it more "civilized". You're welcome, cupcake. 🤣 So far the only person who actually has a somewhat valid argument based on FACTS and not opinion about why the bike isn't on the main roster is Lav4Dragon. But his reason is flawed - it doesn't make sense to not include the bike because the devs didn't want to include a heavy tank? ??? The Bike adds one more flavor of light vehicle. So now we get APC, buggy/humvee, and bike/TOW humvee. I doubt that's gonna affect late game in any negative way, and early game is enhanced with that extra flavor. So I believe. There's only one way to find out for sure. Like I said, in direct response to the bike the devs could make a TOW rocket humvee, which is similar in stats and role, and is lore friendly enough, and I repeat HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE IN ORIGINAL RENEGADE to decent success on most maps. Meaning, this is a no-brainer: go for it! The TOW Humvee would also be a very easy model to make - just take the existing Humvee model and swap out it's machine gun with a new rocket launcher. Remember, it'd take a shit ton of work (and this ain't really work it's a hobby) for the devs to make something totally new, like a Railgun tank. Or maybe not; if these guys are passionate about it they can do it. Dawn of the Tiberium Age resurrected a cancelled unit from C&C1 called the Microwave Tank. Although it's a Nod unit, we could give it to GDI (or both?) The best part is the concept of it's weapon has already made it's way into Renegade X, in the form of EMP grenades. The Microwave Tank is a medium armored tank chassis with an EMP gun. In theory it would serve as a counter to fast rushes (like Recon Bike/TOW Humvee rushes) by stopping the vehicles dead in their tracks for a few moments, allowing defenders to swoop in and curbstomp them. https://cnc.fandom.com/wiki/MGT-1A_microwave_gun_tank --- Also, Orca Bombers and Banshees as crate units? lol, that'd be epic. The Banshee would be insane. A proper Banshee is like a UFO, it uses anti grav tech. That thing could go from Earth to space in like less than one minute. lol, so in game they had to tone it down; it acts more like your typical human fighter bomber jet aircraft, instead of an inter dimensional teleporting Annunaki UFO. Yeup, there it is! It even had a working description and everything! The Renegade SSM Launcher has been modded to work properly in multiplayer - it's weapon was a single fire giant missile that killed infantry fast and tore chunks out of tanks with direct hits, but most of all, this thing WRECKED buildings with it's range and huge damage, with splash damage going thru the walls killing Engineers. These things ended camp fests. A glass cannon ($700) The original SSM Launcher with the two rockets has been modded into Interim Apex, aka Imperial Age, the crazy new Renegade standalone mod, well, total conversion at this point. This SSM Launcher is more mobile and faster than the Renegade one, and they have a turret, and if the two rockets hit the same target then this SSM's damage output is almost the same as Renegade's, only slightly weaker. A more advanced artillery unit ($750)
  23. You think the rocket lock-on in Ren X is too OP? Is there anyway to edit the lock-on stats? In OG Renegade the lock-on was always buggy. But also in OG Renegade there was no vehicle limit, not really.
  24. No offense Mrs. dev but that's not an argument. Also, really? You? A dev? Not saying Nod properly? lol what is wrong with you people? Nod was never an abbreviation. 🤣 Nod is the land that Kane had to walk thru after murdering his brother Abel. Tru story yo Recon Bikes and Attack Buggies can sometimes race past GDI support and kill the Engineer/Hotties, breaking thru the line. Do it all the time in OG Renegade. That's not always true - a good GDI team can use Humvees just as well as a good Nod team can use Buggies. The addition of the bike could complicate this, which is why OG Renegade modders introduced the TOW Rocket Humvee. But still, only one way to find out - lets give the Bike a mass public test drive, yo. And of course the real reason Nod owns big open maps with multiple base entrances is because of their Stealth Tanks, not because of their buggies/bikes, so... don't worry about that.
  25. Very nice idea of alternating meta, and also well said of the bike getting canned because it is no good late game - that is a stupid reason. Also, FYI again, it's Nod, not NOD. Nod is not an acronym. lol, are you doing this on purpose? Did you not read my previous post? I already explained this to you. Seriously, its such an amateur mistake, I'm trying to help out. It's not N.O.D. (Northern Odious Nordification) it's the Brotherhood of Nod. Hell yeah! That's exactly what we do in OG Renegade - the Bike can flank the mammoth tank all day without the tank being able to target it properly, the bike gets too close, runs circles around the tank, and kill the Hotties repairing it too. Naw that's end of the day, end of the match thinking gone awry. All that matters at the end of the day is which team has the more stacked player count. GDI is not necessarily harder to play as than Nod, they just require more patience, although being patient is hard. heheh
