Basically if you don't communicate clearly and repeatedly, most of the time, the commander will have a bad time.
And the newer the team, the more the exact steps taken need to be communicated.

But as I said, the problem did not exist earlier today.
Edit: I have not had a crash, just hanging/freezing/locking up/becoming unresponsive.

P.S. I only began playing this today. I did not know it existed until the other day, when someone dropped a Tiberian Sun bomb on me - quite literally my favourite RTS of all time, followed by *cough* C&C 95. Finally downloaded this, and I'm blown away, not only by the nostalgia, but also by the fact that it exists at all. I'm sure everyone here would agree, but, a great big thank you to every individual participant on this project - this is going to make my imminent old age more bearable.
Yes unfortunately this is an FX chip issue. It's an odd bug, I played the game on an amd fx3970 for years without issues, then once it started freezing and giving problems all the time.
Really only solution is to change CPUs

Also try verify game integrity.
May also need to try completely uninstalling, deleting all Renegade X files and downloading again.
I've had a simliar issue in the past, the files were so corrupt the game couldn't fix itself so I had to completely start over.

Let's all take a moment and thank those AFK base reppers who no one really cares about, but spend most of the play time keeping the base alive.
It's a tough job, but someone's gotta do it.

Also, have you tried switching the game to 64-bit in the settings of the launcher?

Also, as an aside, I've realized someone needs to get the memo out to newbies that Technician and Hotwire have a more powerful repair gun. 🤣

Yes, this project isn't something like AM2R or Crono Trigger Resurrection, it isn't being made in secret.
Someone was hosting torrents or other full downloads of the betas, but I don't think those are being kept up anymore.

Could you imagine how dull and chaotic this game would be at the same time, if there was no chat, no voice chat, no radio commands at all? 😬

64 bit version was experimental until recently, so it's left as a manual option on the user end still.

As far as I'm aware, the smoothness or lack thereof how everything sort of interacts with the world, is intentional. Or if not, its a limitation of the engine Or that most aren't bothered by it and learn to adjust. 😃

An influx of lots of new players and people trying to download the game, might have put alot of stress somewhere. I would keep trying see if the problem keeps happening.
I've certainty had alot of issues with bugs and such, but haven't seen this happen myself.

Or even anytime its actively used.
E.i: if fired at nothing or target is 100% beam is blue
if fired on target and healing begins, turn beam purple, then back to blue when healing complete.

The funny thing was seeing the whole spectrum of comments from
