Fair enough.. -1 to the water mechanics again Yeah, sorry. That's just an opinion of mine. Frankly I have never noticed this in all my time in watery maps... I'll just try to find the middle ground in my suggestions. You do have a point when saying that it makes a unique path. We just need to make it a bit more friendlier and clearer, especially to newbs, as long as it's possible

I don't think I would understand how it works if that happens to me. I would basically feel that I didn't give you enough shot and try it again, or that I miss the hitbox (since the hitbox would most likely be still cylinder even when the person is lying down) I understand that it should be unique and all. How about making the water material a bit more opaque? After all, some waters are just that way and Gold Rush's water aren't exactly filtered from all the moss and other things That, or give the attacker some warning that submerged people can't be shot from the surface

Mind sending me this as an FBX or OBJ? I need to practice my Normal Mapping skills and this seems like a good start. Don't worry about the MG btw

so I just scrolled through contenr browser, checking the polys of everything. I noticed that Barracks' interior in particular, possesses about 35000 vertices... All the bed and boxes inside the barracks weighs that much, and since LOD has been used for the destroyed textures (which also brings the question as to why you don't use Material Instance for that instead). It's just kind of disturbing, the sight that a building can possibly weigh more than the character itself. I really see a lot of things you can possibly cover with normal maps there Just throwing in my 2 cents

Now don't be like that. Sure some people doesn't appreciate us and relies just a tad too much on defense comprising only on mines. But we really have no need to call names. Just keep the forum friendly Unless you play WC3. When shit gets real, just Scroll to Town Portal back to base
-
....and make sure you're not in wireframe mode

That's what I first proposed, except it's a bought 2-3 use equipment replacing Beacon slot (although C4 slot is fine too), and instead of slowing down, the movement needs to completely stop, as if deploying beacon or airstrike, and each damage done would cancel the progress bar. A non-combat kit you can use on yourself or teammate, but takes longer when used on yourself Think of it as L4D health pack actually

Ah, another defender. Glad to know I'm not truly alone. What sucks is when our team is full of good attackers and managed to keep the enemies at bay without us moving a single finger at all, just aimlessly patrolling at base and stayed on the bottom end of the score list. I don't mind scores myself though You have a low score because you're not actually doing anything. Defenders usually have the highest score, but only proper defense (repairing vehicles, defusing beacons, and repairing buildings). When you have a low score, maybe you don't need to do such heavy defense anymore? This is off topic, but think about it and there's no need to reply. I know. How am I supposed to do anything if my opposing team are not competent enough to slip someone in the base in a map called... Under? Sure, maybe I don't need to defend, but it's better than messing up rushes with my far worse incompetence in attacking My preferred tactics are usually just patrolling with APC, sometimes blocking choke points and be a lookout for beacons. So yeah, this just makes a little dilemma. But I always keep in mind the thought of the need of patroller that can't be hit by snipers and other light-armor wreckers. Especially on Field tunnels. Sometimes Sakura just likes to pop in

You can look at GeoDav's tutorial about UDK vehicles. I think that's still valid

Not everyone likes losing and dying a lot of times and some mildly-experienced to veterans sometimes get so serious about the game, calling them 'n00b', 'idiot' and the likes when something goes horribly wrong while the FNG mentally questions what he did wrong It's quite inevitable Also, does server encourage chatting as well? I know they encourage TS (which I don't have the equipment to), but not everyone knows TS

Lol, well played man... well played
-
A possibly half-powered repair gun that possibly can't even disarm beacons properly without help costs VP? ok...
-
Only Windows games might be a bit too harsh. lol He can still play games up until 2007 or 2008 probably and emulation for the 32 Bit era shouldn't be too much of a problem. ...and Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3. That runs fairly smooth in my laptop, also with 480 res and medium graphic settings But okay, I get your point. Just saying that the particular MovieClip on the weapons and game stats needs to be resized just about 1.025 times. But if those gaps on the UI were saved for something else, it's fine then
-
1. No, AFAIK that's just gonna end up being more expensive around here. 2. As I said before, I need portability. I won't be able to work on my campus project efficiently without laptop 3. There's no internet at home.
-
Don't get it wrong. My laptop can reach 1376x768 res. I use 480p because of performance issue only. And yes, I do need portability. Besides, with no internet at home, desktop is pretty much useless And about earning money... yeah, I don't have skill to offer yet to earn myself at least $500 (my laptop's converted price) while affording for University and all
-
With the shape of the map, we can call this map 'Eyes'. The shape almost resembles frowned glancing eyes
-
Well screw me then. That's the best my parents can afford me right now. Of course, they don't have gaming capability in mind. I would not dare to demand it But I still think UI should at least be readable by every resolution. If you look at any other games (UT, Call of Duty, etc.), they don't turn UI into blurry mess. I believe it is something wrong in the texture settings of the UI. I will try to mess up the SDK if I'm correct or not Edit : Ok, IMO the UI just look a tad too small on some part... and leaves some big gaps there Notice how the gap is so big in the bottom there? All it needs is an itty bitty scaling on the weapon and game stats there and we're good. I don't think it will disorientate players or anything
-
Ooooooh, sorry. Well, guess that sounds fine... except then why the need of health kit if your repair gun can repair armors of infantries? Of course, that would mean self repairing as well, but still...
-
Well, my first idea is not slow regen tho. It's almost insta heal armor or health when the repair is done. I'm very much welcome for any other ideas The kits for infantries, The reps for buildings/vehicles But of course, if we want to keep it simple, we can just use the Repair Guns
-
If it's not too much thing on the shop already, how about making this as a buyable equipment? Like... this... Each buy gets us 3 times use 'Armor Repair Kit' or 'Painkiller', which can only be used out of combat. It will give the user a progress bar like the beacon or airstrike, which fails when the player gets shot. Can also be used on friendlies for lower usage time to encourage teamplay... and because equipments are all on the same slot (meaning you won't be able to buy beacons AND repair kits at the same time) The side effect would also reduce the overuse of hotties and tech. IMO they're too overrated for a support class, not that I hate them anyway
-
With that Armor Break thing, people will be able to handle Obi and AGT a little bit too easier... And balance aside, that just feels a bit CoD (single player at least) to me. And we all know how much the community seems to flare up upon the word CoD and BF
-
Or you can just use the in-game tanks as reference. Won't be too far off. Besides, if the polys are just about 5000, the game engine would handle it fine Also, you might want to avoid doing that. By lore, Soviet does not have 'Helipad' buildings unlike GDI and Nod in Tiberian Sun and TS:Reborn
-
Seems that the buildings are quite well-named. Most codes seemed to be inserted in the Internal class though.
