  3. Hello I've been on here since phase 3 closed Beta, back then the game was as close to Renegade as it could be. To the point where every clan out there came back to play, and quite honestly it was a blast. We'd rush back from work, just to play the game. Anyone remember the H2Mega toss? 😛 My IGN is OSTKvlat, and I've been trying it out again the past 3 days. Developers please don't get me wrong. I fully understand that you are not trying to replicate renegade, and it's all in your right to decide on that. I am yet to get used to the new balancing, but it seems like the new one does well at shortening game lengths, and making base destruction much more feasible, which is still an issue in old ren marathon servers (server, there's only one left ) Where hard camping is impossible to break in 15 vs 15 games. That being said, the problem is that I am finding it really hard to get any old player to try out RenX at all. Even my own clan didn't like the idea at all, and even the ones who did, didn't last long as the patches came in. It even split the clan in half and all went to shit lol... So I was wondering, if the mod tools that are available can help with that. I am willing to work on such project myself, but was wondering if the mod tools do allow things like: Balancing: nerf infantry a bit, nerf flame tanks, make arties slower (or remove shift all together) , etc... Lock the MRLS turret from turning. It used to be very helpful around corners and hill. Remove refill timeout Remove obelisk's long charge. When it stops sounding "randy, know wot I mean?" it wouldn't hold a charge anymore and doesn't insta-zap the player. Remove inaccuracy from shooting off the hip, and shorten the scope distance. Right now close combat with a sniper rifle is quite hard. Remove emp, smoke, nades, airstrikes, and other mechanics that weren't present in old games etc... I am not asking for a mod to be made, I want to work on it. Though any help is welcome, I'd like to know if such mods are feasible via mod tools, or are they only changeable via the source code? I'm also asking that if it's feasible, am I allowed to work on such a thing and host it? (not good with legal terms and whatnot) If the mod tools don't allow the above. Would you be willing to enabled it? Again, please don't take the points above as whining, or a request to change. They are only there to clarify what my intentions are. I'll be soon posting what I actually like about the game, after I've played it enough
  4. Doesn't have anything to do with windows 10 . I have win10 and it's working fine .I'm still playing original ren which is 13 years old now on win10 . I remember it did that if you didn't have steam online , but that was during closed beta , not sure if it's still the case... Is there a specific part where it always crashes ? like for example during the udk logo animation . Also what are your system specs ?

I know it's in the change log, and I'm in for the snappy running but there's something that's messing my brain up sometimes is that the character you are shooting at is running sideways but still aiming at you. It's hard to explain but basically he seems to be running to the right for example and the gun is facing the same direction but the shots come at you.
  6. could be a silly proposition but , cant the airdrop plane have "no collisions" , i mean just like grass and other objects that u cant collide with ? that way plane could pass right through the tanks . Or is it the "spawning" of the new tank that kills the other tank ?

  8. you might consider this as a nub answer but maybe its the amd cpu with NVidia gpu thats a bad combination ... amd and Nvidia really hate each other that much lol . Im saying that cuz i have the GTX750Ti same maxwell architecture as the 970 (couldnt get the 970 myself cuz its not yet available here ) which makes me surprised ur getting such drops ... i rarely drop below 50 fps and NO WAY in tunns thats where my fps would jump to 80 ... And truxa , it makes a hell of a difference between 40 and 60 fps . Its a common mistake for people : yes at 30 fps retina persistence is achieved but its not enough to call it smooth . Nero , PSU you running on ? maybe the VGA isnt getting enough power ? (although 970 doesnt realy consume much that is the purpose of those ) but u said u upgraded maybe u forgot that detail . Also , if you really want to determine if its a problem with the game , install MSI afterburner (should come with ur driver CD ) or just download it .Configure on screen display and monitor GPU usage and power consuption ... if when the fps drops the gpu usage isnt 99% , then indeed the game isnt using all the gpu power .

Dear developers , i think this has been brought up before but its still a very annoying thing in renegadeX that in some maps its very very hard to see enemy tanks and infantry , especially on Field you can never see a tank if not for the red targeting box . tbh renegadeX is the only game i have ever played where i need to take a rest after a match just to rest my eyes and ive been sitting in front of a PC for like 16 years now lol . Also -i might get alot of negativity for this one- the post processing option is way too much for the eyes to handle and it kinda make the game look more cartoony than real... i always turn it off (my PC can handle it np tho) . In walls it makes the map look like its melting , and in dark maps it makes stuff look like they are glowing . Please don't get me wrong , after i bought this new PC and tried RenX on ultra i gotta say it looks very impressive, but some effects like the glowing and anti-aliasing need "decreasing" (idk the proper word ) and most dark maps need more lighting. Also , i remember i posted something about PostprocessAA and that it can be turned off in skirmish via commands also alot of other stuff that go under the "show" command (non of these work in multiplayer) , maybe you can add the ability to toggle some of these via buttons in the settings menu , since most vga do their own AA now and there's no need for such heavy post-processing .... i could go on but the main idea is RenX is very hard on the eyes ...

I had XML exam yesterday and the 4 chapters course was shorter than this post .... in all seriousness though , i appreciate the work you did and all these details I think the game needs a tutorial map, kinda like CS:GO 's tutorial or COD . just a map where you are forced to try different weapons against different stuff , or rush a building with bots .

  13. interesting .... 2 buildings for 20 minutes would be 2400 points .But it would make losing team not camp and the winning one do ...and well lets face it the only chance a team w/o WF has is to camp (in general).Still is a good idea if we can figure out the right points/s ratio .
  14. I couldn't agree more , always felt like something was off with these , just didnt know what exactly till u pointed it out . I mean i would be a havoc and suddenly i see rain of tiberium pouring on me to death , and then i look up to find engineer was what slayed me ... just doesn't add up. idk how a tib flechette or carbine can be considered sidearms , especially the tib gun wich is more effective against infantry than most anti-infantry primary weapons. And the carbine is indeed more silent than anything in this game which beats the purpose of carying a silented gun.

I think you misunderstood me ... i never asked for it to be the same as old Ren, in fact i love the sprinting and the generally greater speed than old ren (which was slow as fuck).You're totally right , Ren died , if devs copy that it will die too ...I'm just mad about all this whining about SBH and balancing while its the players fault they dont know how to defend lol.Especially that they choose non defense map every bloody game only to whine about stealth mechanism right after ... wtf If you want to hear some good things well , i also love the curves of the arty shots since it gives u an edge in dogfights when hills are present (the small bumps in field), i also like how sbh now can defend himself with the buffed laser rather than unveiling and be like "fuck C:" , the airstrikes are great for breakin some sieges w/o being OP... But just like people have the right to whine about SBH i also have the right to whine about them whining about SBH I was just too sad to read that Mesa caves were closed to inf only that made me write that post ... What i meant was instead of learning how to properly break sieges ,we now just run away from em and come up with that kind of solution . NO SIEGE IS UNBREAKABLE ... if all the other team is attacking well hey , they arent defending i'm just asking for the community to learn the game rather than whine about everything (tho i am whining in this post )
  16. When i first heard about RenX i got so damn exited , like finally someone's gonna re-make Renegade . Applied for phaseIII beta testing with Rencorner , where mostly everyone was excited about the game, and fortunately got approval.The testing phase was actually the time when i most enjoyed the game : most of the players were old ren players, most of em knew what they're doing ... it just felt like good old ren with better graphics and a bit faster pace .We even played clan wars , ofc H2O dominated most of em but it was fun as hell... When open beta came out things looked pretty promissing , 1000 players ingame it was like a dream come true .I really thought back then that it was the end for old ren and time for RenX . Unfortunately, people started to leave , most blame the crashes and bugs ... but hey , crashes are gone so where are the people ? I think it mostly comes to the quality of the games .Join any game and its a total clusterfuck , no one repairs,no strategy, no renegade really ... and the infantry wars are just WTF , dont get me wrong i love how renX encourage getting infantry other than the snipers , but all these added stuff like tib side weapons right next to a usually less powerful primary weapon are just horrible . And all across the forums i just keep reading posts of people whining how sbh are OP ... wtf , we never had such issue in ren .Nod have less armored vehs so they rely on stealth tech , deal with it(on a side note, if u hate sbh so fukin much stop voting for fukin walls :@).And more worse are the attempts to solve such issues like the EMP nades,AT mines,airstrikes,reducing stealth radius,making sbh reveal a bit when he runs and other stuff... Renegade was all about teamwork , we once won a game of mesa with only pp and ref vs a complete nod base , but had 2 clan mates on team speak.Now its just buy anything , shoot w.e , and win by score... or just run away from the challenge od defending 3 sides and close Mesa caves to make it infantry only.Its just that i dont get it with all these attempts to make the game easier for the defender (callin out the cool-down in PT).Its called Renegade ffs not mylittleponey , grab ur gun and defend and just quit whining about SBHs . What im saying is , Ren had perfect balance (most of the time) and i see no reason why devs had to change that by adding so much new stuff into play...stop adding new stuff, let the players learn the game instead of just abusing game mecanics like nuking and calling airstrikes and throwing emp on it ...its hard to express really but it feels less like playing renegade and more like playing the math of RenX engine. Anyways ... Im not trying to be mean or rude ( sorry about the shouting i just hate walls ), as ive said before in other posts i respect all the hard work devs are doin .And i understand that the project must be fun for them in order to keep on working (hence the added stuff) , im a dev myself and i know how hard it becomes when a project just becomes boring . But i defended RenegadeX for so long.When people were like "they release renX ages ago and was a fail , nothing will change" i tried to defend , I even had a horrible fight with my clan over it if u like to know ... but it just seems everyone was right afterall OSTKvlat
  17. I hate it ... in fact i hate all of these attempts in Renx that just make the game easier , like airstrikes , AT mines , and now EMP . It's like forget team work , forget defending properly ... get an emp and stop the rush . Anyways , its a public poll but ... if EMP were to stay , can u plz remove the smoke screen ? I see no reason why it should have any smoke in the first place , its an EMP .. if ur trying to make it look realistic ,well then emp isnt even visible, but id say just leave the blue electrical discharge effect (kinda like the one when the pic or rail hits a tank ).Besides , its now killing more FPS than tanks atm lol

  19. You call that GFX card weak? I'm running on a GTX 660 and it runs smooth as well. Every setting as high as possible, switched off static decals as a Dev suggested it before and a resolution of 1280 x 1024. 16GB RAM (which isn't the max for gaming PCs these days) and a Intel Core i7 CPU (8 cores) 4 cores ... i think the other 4 are "virtual" done by hyperthreading(unless u paid a lot for an actual 8 core). And the 660 is slightly better than 750Ti dont think you should lower ur res , try full HD . And yeah the gtx750Ti isnt weak at all considering it uses only 60 watts , overclocks like hell (out of the box) with max temp of 71C and comes at 160$ As for this thread ... idk what advice is given here , all im reading is "lower your settings to get higher fps" wich if you didnt know already u shouldnt bother with gaming lol besides, using game booster wouldnt give u much of an improvement on i5 or i7 , its not like ur gonna really reach 100% on these with just ren and some applications that you will have to re-open when u close the game .
  20. are you sure you're running the game on the Nvidia gpu not the igp ? Nvidia equiped laptops have optimus tech wich means u have to choose : either right click udk.exe - > choose graphics adapter - > high performance nvidia processor ; or right enter nvidia control panel (right click on desktop) - > manage 3d settings -> select the game - > and select the nvidia gpu right below . I have GTX750Ti and run it on ultra np , lowest fps is 40 ... ur 880M-- even if laptop gpu the 880M is much better than mine as ive read-- should run the game no sweat.
  21. So i join a game , aaaaaaannd it WALLS . Exit , come back later -> walls .... Not sure if this should be addressed at devs or server owners , but its just rediculous that the game has all these maps yet walls is played 90% of the time .I dont really hate any map , all of them can become boring stalemates or very fun games it just depends on the situation , but playing the same map all day is just boring and wrong , its why i stoped playing for a while and might again . Also my clan refused to play the game cuz of the same issue,same map all the time. Also , how are players supposed to learn the game if they keep playing the same scenario over and over again ?Especially on walls which is a non defence map . Where is the team work to bring down obby and AGT ? I know its a poll and people get to choose , but its obvious noobs will always choose walls since the bases are close and there's no need to find out new ways to do stuff...and im sure whoever made volcano and the other brilliant maps isnt very happy people are playing the map that prolly tooks the least time to make , walls. Please make a rotation !
