I have no idea what their plans are for the design of the device, but going on by how they have made some of the other weapons/vehicles, I'm betting we will see some slight design changes. I don't know that for certain though so don't quote me.

The main idea for the mod is to keep it the same as Renegade. So it's more likely that nothing special will be done with it. There have been numerous ideas thrown around between people, for example making a secondary fire that damages instead of heals or having an auto-fire button so people don't have to hold the mouse down when repairing a structure. But most of the ideas were denied by the dev team. And I agree with them. The Repairgun should work the same as it did in Renegade. Nothing new and nothing changed.

I hereby proclaim Fobby is now Nobby.

I don't think so. Prospectively, people really couldn't care less about what other people do. I mean, there will be the rare conversation "Oh, how did you get that achievement?" but that's about as far as it goes. No one will think any different of you if you have all achievements than if you had just a few achievements. People want to play the game the way they want, not stop what they are doing to praise some other dude they don't know and follow his/her every order and movement. Remember, its a game, and games are for entertainment. People wont play the game if they don't want to be entertained by it.

The GDI Ion cannon animation, can you guys maybe adjust it to make it work more realistically? I mean, keep it similar to Renegade with respect, but just change it so that it isn't as retarded. Every time I watch the Ion cannon animation play in Renegade I get annoyed. The way it looks and the way it does damage are two completely different things! 1. Those small beams that drag towards the center make no sense because the beam itself is behind shot from a single satellite cannon. What's the point? I mean, I can understand target beams, but they don't look like target beams, they look like mini-dragging ion cannons. And for that matter, why don't they do any damage like they do in C&C3? If I could make a suggestion, change them to target beams, make them look like a targeting system. 2. Why does the beam impact the ground for 5 seconds and not do any damage until the count down is finished? I really like the rising particles from the ground as well as those blue rings, but lose the center beam until the cannon ACTUALLY fires. That way it actually LOOKS like it does damage on impact. Also, as an added suggestion, make like an "fluctuation" or a "light refraction" effect on the ground when its about to fire. Like a magnetic effect distorting the air around the impact site. Sort of how heat looks like when it is rising off the surface of something hot. Do that like 2 or 3 seconds before the beam hits the ground to make it look like the beam is magnetically impacting the target area before it actually physically hits.

QUOTE (Demigan @ Apr 17 2009, 11:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People play Renegade to play Renegade, not get achievements. It isn't the main objective of the game. Therefore it doesn't make sense to draw the conclusion that people wouldn't make their own games because it would be a waste of time. I don't think they would make their own games in the first place anyway... Lol. QUOTE (Demigan @ Apr 17 2009, 11:40 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't see how it would cause lag... and if it does, then I don't see that much of a need to have to check them while you play.

QUOTE (Demigan @ Apr 15 2009, 09:58 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> If people did that, it would bother me completely. I see achievements like I see trading cards. It's fun to collect them and show off the rare ones. But if you just go and get them in stupid effortless ways, then it ruins the entire reason for having them in the first place. I mean, seriously, if you are playing Renegade X and you get a hard to get achievement, such as head shotting a SBH while he is cloaked, then getting all worked up that you did that and got that achievement when suddenly another player just goes and says something like "big deal, I've gotten that one like 10 times already" (because he had a private server with a friend and they took turns killing each other as SBHs), it sort of ruins the feeling of collecting that achievement in the a fair way. Suggestions to circumvent this problem: 1. Perhaps it could be possible to only allow achievements in official servers? Meaning you can't get achievements playing on your own (unless it is like "Played 50 LAN matches") 2. What if achievements were server based? Like all of your achievements are stored server-side. So if you got one achievement playing in a specific server, you would have it saved in that server, but if you went to another server, you would have to get it again. QUOTE (hatstand @ Apr 15 2009, 01:58 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is a good idea. Just have like categories saying Vehicle Based Achievements, Infantry Based Achievements, ect, without giving any detail as to how many there are or how to get any single one. Not even the names of them should be present. (Or maybe the names of different achievements should be added to your list, whether you get it or not, when someone else in a match gets it. Like if a teammate gets an achievement that you don't have for destroying 3 structures, then that achievement's name would show up in a list and should be indicated that you haven't gotten it yet.) QUOTE (TigerXtrm @ Apr 15 2009, 10:52 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> This is also an excellent idea. It would also encourage people to stay in the games longer and wait for them to play out instead of quitting when they are losing or whatever.

QUOTE (Demigan @ Apr 13 2009, 06:01 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> People wouldn't be given initiative to try new things, they would play the exact same way they always do. They would just get together with some friends on the side and try to unlock any achievements they can, without actually playing the game. Its best not to list any achievements at all. The devs shouldn't even tell us if they decide to put them in the game or not.

1. Buy Unreal Tournament 3. 2. Install Unreal Tournament 3. 3. Download and install Renegade X when it is released for free. 4. ??? 5. PROFIT! 6. Ignore steps 4 & 5.

Achievements only backfire when people know how to get them. Any time else, they result in an excellent source for replay value.

I agree with maty on this. Just because you have a 360, doesn't mean you will get an RRoD. And Microsoft is pretty good about it too. They admit that it has problems and they do their best to fix it. They update its design and internal parts every so often to counter all the problems people have with the 360s. However, it really comes down to the end user and how you handle the console. If you keep it in a bad spot, or you travel with it a lot, or what ever.

He came out of nowhere, I swear!: Accidentally run over a SBH in cloak mode.

Someone brought up the topic of in game achievements in the FAQ thread and the dev team said that it is a distinct possibility. So I thought it would be fun to think of a bunch of different achievements players could get when playing RenegadeX. Here are a few I thought of that would be funny/cool to have: OMGLAG!: Die 10 consecutive times without making any kills. Big head: Get 3 consecutive head shots I DESLIKE U!: Kill the same player 3 or more consecutive times in a row. Boomin' Harvest!: Destroy at least 10 Tiberium Refinieries single handily (Over your entire multiplayer career) SINGLE PLAYER POWER PLANT: Destroy at least 10 Power Plants single handily H4X: Head shot a SBH in cloak mode. Nail in the flying coffin: Purchase transport helicopter and get shot down from a lethal height while having at least one other teammate in with you. I can't think of anymore. Try to come up with others that might be funny or cool to have as achievements.

C&C Arena is already out. They've said so themselves. It was finished before RA3 was even announced. I think that it was just a code name for the cinematic project for Tiberium. They said it was a success, but if you notice, the cinematics for that game were completed and polished, the game itself was what didn't make t. That's why it was considered a success, even though we as fans never saw it in action.

Target boxes, what of them? Are you guys going to code that into the game? (The box that goes around players that shows their health when you target them). Also, if this is put into the game, then how will it work when combined with feign death? You can fake your death, but if you have target boxes, then players would just be able to aim their weapon at you to see if you still have any health remaining.

The thing that makes Renegade Renegade isn't its game-style or game-play, but rather its concept. Its idea. Its use of strategy in a dynamic battle through the eyes of each individual soldier. The idea that one single person can change the entire plot of the match. I don't understand where the "arcady" idea came from, but it doesn't make any sense. Why would people be interested enough to keep playing a game for years and years after its release and years and years to come just because of its target box indicating, health bar dropping, recoil free, endless stamina type game play? It just doesn't make any sense. That's not gripping. That's not epic. It's just how you control the game. It's what the game is about and what can be done in it that is the backbone behind its ongoing popularity.

There is a lot of good mixes in the game.. Perhaps Stomp. (Background music to M10). Also, yea, Move it is the background music in M05.

They actually just give you a new console. But since they are constantly updating the internal systems of the unit, it will most likely perform better. I got mine repaired a year, year and a half ago, and I've yet to come across a single problem with the new one.
-
Sort of, sort of not. If you put the two logos next to each other you could easily tell the difference between what's what, even if you've never heard of Renegade X. It's like the difference between two words that are spelled the same but mean different things, like Live and Live.

When I RRed, I sent it into Microsoft, got it back in less than a week later and they gave me a free month of Xbox LIVE.

Added more shadow to the cross-over.

LOL That video was hilarious! I loved the before/after part with the sniper firing the opposite direction then the guy placing a C4 and some other dude just randomly run in and tackle him. Also lol @ safty dance.
