When I RRed, I sent it into Microsoft, got it back in less than a week later and they gave me a free month of Xbox LIVE.

Added more shadow to the cross-over.

LOL That video was hilarious! I loved the before/after part with the sniper firing the opposite direction then the guy placing a C4 and some other dude just randomly run in and tackle him. Also lol @ safty dance.

It's not auto-aiming, it's the trajectory of the weapon your a firing. Just because you can see over an obstacle, doesn't mean your weapon can as well. That's why sometimes you might aim over a rock, but since the weapon can't see over the rock, it hits the top of it instead.

America is ran on ignorance. And the people who realize that don't do anything about it. Me? I can't do anything about it <_<

What delay? It's just a simple sound modification that sounds like word-of-mouth up close and radio frequency when far away. It could be useful when someone says commands like "Take the point," "I need repairs," "Follow me," ect. That way you know when the person who said it is close to you and it gives you an idea that he might just be talking to you.
-
^^ That's a good idea. Also how about this as well: If you use voice communication (or maybe even hot key commands like "I need repairs!") if you are within a close proximity to the person who said the command (or is talking) then it would sound like they were flat out talking to you, not as if it is coming from over a radio. However, if the command/chat is issued from, say, across the map, then you would get like a radio static overlay on the audio.

That gameplay analyzer looks like a nice feature. Good way to beta test maps and insure the public gets a version that is fully play tested and ready.

It is him because he posted again on Ren forums a few months ago explaining his improved English. Lol.

I remember hearing about C&C in 7th grade when a friend of mine asked if I had ever heard of it or played it. I said no and he suggested I go check it out. At the time though I didn't really think too much of it and just brushed it off. Then the Christmas of 02, I got Renegade as a gift. I recognized the name from when my friend suggested it to me, so I was curious to check it out. (At that time, I had no idea what "RTS" was.) I installed it and instantly fell in love with it. Later I showed another one of my friends Renegade and he liked it as well. Then about a year later, I got a call from him saying he went and bought another C&C game: Red Alert 2. He said it was "different" over the phone, but I didn't really comprehend how "different" it was. When I got to his house to check it out, I was in utter disgust at what I was seeing. Up until I saw RA2, I thought all C&C games were FPS games. I didn't like how RA2 was an "RTS." However, after I got the chance to play, I began to like it more and more. And from then on, I went backwards in playing C&C games. So I've been a C&C fan since Renegade.

Your point doesn't make sense. In what way does adding in a parachute mechanic encourage people to bail out of their vehicle early? When your vehicle explodes in Renegade, you don't die, you are automatically ejected. If you are in a tank and it explodes, you don't die, you just exit the vehicle unharmed and continue on as infantry. So the only difference between getting out early before the vehicle explodes and waiting for the vehicle to explode is the fact that you give the enemy a chance to steal your vehicle. With aircraft, however, it is a little different. Whether you get out at the last second or not (not that it makes a difference) you are probably too high in the air to be able to survive the fall. If you are in an aircraft and get blown up, then your vehicle explodes and you drop to the ground. You are alive until you touch the ground, in which case you die from the fall, not from losing your vehicle. There where some servers that allowed players to type in a command that would exchange 300 or so of a players credits for a parachute so that if they fell from greater than a certain height, they would fall to the ground safely. I don't understand how that would encourage bailing out of your vehicle early.. the only thing I see it encouraging is using the transport helicopter more for quick drop-off runs instead of having to get up close and personal before anyone can leave the aircraft. (Thus turning the "flying coffin" into the #1 vehicle for hell-droppers)

Oh that reminded me of a question I wanted to ask before: Will servers have the option to enable/disable parachutes? Some renegade servers had the ability to use parachutes that activated when you were above X height so you would safely fall to the ground without harm. It would be cool doing paradrops out of a transport chopper. And being that it would be a server side option, it wouldn't really change balance much.. not to mention give transport choppers a cool new use.

When flying aircraft reach 0HP, will they blow up mid-air like in Renegade? Or will the fall to the ground and explode?

I think making C4 disappear on your vehicle was an intended factor of the game. That way, once you leave your base with C4 on your vehicle, the enemy wont realize if the vehicle is mined or not and wont be afraid to get too close to you.. or take it if it is empty in the field.
-
lol, did you guys plan this?! :V
-
I never said anything about grenades... just C4..
-
Yea I like the "Phantom image" idea for mines. Either that, or do what they were going to do with grenades in Tiberium, with that blue arch leading to where it would fall.

I wouldn't label it "American Adults" even though the study was based in the US. I would say Human adults... because all of humanity deserves equal blame for being complete morons. However, I admit, that game show is fun to watch.

That's a W3D bug.

You aren't understanding what he is asking. To put it simply, he wants a modified version of the "!lock" function that still locks a vehicle so no one on your team can run off with it, but it still allows other team mates to jump in. Basically, it locks the driver's seat. The problem with the "!lock" function in some servers is that it locked everyone out except you. That caused a sort of problem in this sort of situation: You are a Medium Tank driver that is trying to escape an enemy rush. You make it back to base with low health, but you survive. You put in the !lock command and jump out to repair. The enemy rush comes around and destroys your main base defense. Then at that time, an enemy soldier spots you repairing your tank and rushes to try to get inside it. You don't notice him, but a teammate does. So, in an attempt to protect your tank, your teammate jumps in to block the enemy from stealing it, however they are met with the !lock function that boots them out of the vehicle. Thus letting the enemy unit jump in and drive away. Keep in mind this happened in your base! Sure you can have someone already seated in the tank, but why would someone waste their time doing nothing inside a tank when there's an enemy rush going on? Why would someone waste their time doing that period?

QUOTE (epicelite @ Mar 12 2009, 03:12 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Pressing 4 is a hotkey for buying the engineer in the main PT screen. Why should there be protection against that? Just pay more attention to the menu... Also, if I recall correctly, Renegade X allows you to queue up vehicles in order, not make you wait till one is constructed to select another. Meaning even without said "protection" you shouldn't ever encounter your problem.
