I didn't know there even was a silo. Wut? And soft boundaries, AFAIK they shouldn't have "flat overlapping sides", slanted sides differentiate if you are "entering or leaving" and sides that are touching but not overlapping don't produce endless countdown, but 90 degree angle sides assumes leaving from the sides, unless told to ignore like in Agent's code, but if told to ignore at a sideways angle while you actually are leaving, then you get permanent countdown. I have a fairly reliable way to produce functional soft boundaries AFAIK though this video, around 50 seconds in.

Yeah, if you have flak infantry available, allow them to walk through the mines, a Rave can walk a LOT of mines relatively. If you are planning an Anti-Structure rush, I now think the "leader" and maybe 1 other, should also invest in chaingunner or 1k anti-infantry or chem/mcfarland. Acting as an "enforcer", they can parry enemy AP off of your rush so 3 don't slaughter 12.

Correct, it is basically a map, with some poses done to the skeletal meshes of a few inserted character models, and a panning camera for each of them, and it goes from camera to camera every 10 seconds or so. It is pretty efficient on graphics. Though, main menu should force higher graphics for it's render, than the settings say, because my machine makes everything look funky on main menu when graphics down. To be fair, my Mammoth Tank on my main menu has been black-textured this whole patch, I wouldn't mind swapping it for the new one.

They all look good. I always did like them more. Don't know where the new ones came from, but they also contribute.

In masses in tunnels, especially around corners and along hills, you can hit 2-3 fairly reliably, and can always hit at least 1, and can hit them without being open to bullets yourself. My only problem with Grenadier, is merely a bug rather than balance. This right here... viewtopic.php?f=122&p=157811#p157811

Public Service Announcement: To Embed a Youtube Video on the Forums Via BBCode, use: [Youtube]kxMqYQVE6Sc[/Youtube] ...where "kxMqYQVE6Sc" is the ending jibberish on your video URL. I know Kenz3001 knows, but LavaDragon asked I believe.

3rd Person Misfire+Grenadier Backfire

This shows how and sort-of why this type of misfire happens. Hope it helps! kxMqYQVE6Sc -
Go to RenXSDK\Development\Src\RenX_Game\Classes Most of them are "RenX_Game.Rx_Weapon_*". Such as Rx_Weapon_Chaingun, Rx_Weapon_FlakCannon, Rx_Weapon_HeavyPistol, Rx_Weapon_LaserChainGun...

Flak is like literally 50% explosion damage, but 120% bullet damage. Important to note, that is ONLY when applied to armor damage, once you are down to health it is 100% straight damage. Kevlar is same, except 80% bullet damage, but 100% explosive damage. Note, bullets really mess up flak armor infantry, and explosions like mines and tank shells mess up kevlar based infantry. Also note, that "energy" weapons tend to do 100% damage to targets. That is snipers, tiberium, electric, ion, laser, ect.

It... isn't a bad idea... I know it is possible to have individual player's text "overwrite" instead of "fill", so that if they q spot something, it places the message, if they do it 10 more times, you still have just their 1 message, and if they q spot something else, their old q-spot literally goes away in leau of their newest one. That way, no 1 person could have more than 1 output of text at a time. Some games do that.

He can kill in a clip if you shoot for the feet. Situational, as autorifle can kill faster than a grenadier's clip, but grenadier can damage groups in tunnels and can kite corners while still getting damage.

At first, I thought "this is just 'Whiteout' with advanced defenses"... ...but then, I remembered that Whiteout has basically become entirely different, with infantry paths and the lack of base defenses, that it can be different enough. Can't wait to play it.

Water / mud sound changed for all units
RoundShades replied to Ryz's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
And all of Training Yard (good work on the map though). -
I was able to kill a HoN on Islands, with just 2 grenadiers early game. Just walked in, 2 timed c4, and at 9 seconds just started whailing on MCT. The difference is, Grenadiers can do damage to outside of building. They actually do decent damage to infantry and tanks. I truly don't know what you are talking about.

Unable to start on my very old Windows XP Pro SP3 machine...

So, what are the official requirements for Renegade X. I was misled that it would run on my ancient setup. So, is it really 4 GB of RAM? It would only run with 3gb ram, if you did everything I said. As Yosh said, I too bet I could rig it to work with 3gb, but it would be just barely and would require the computer's idle to be as smooth and blank as possible, if steam in the background, then absolutely nothing else like "desktop widgets" and "speccy" and possibly even intensive antivirus and firewall software. -
If we are doing 3 maps at a time, might be best to do ~1hr before pug, set time to 15 minutes, and start people off with 800 credits. If we have actually 8-12 people a team show up, it'll be good testing even if short.

Also Training Yard could honestly just get rid of all boundaries and kill you if you're dumb enough to walk off of the map.I like dis. I think soft boundaries, from what I was told just today, is set to time based entirely on the mapmaker. If true, set it to 4 seconds. If you step out of bounds, you have 4 seconds to correct that mistake. If you aren't able to react in 2 seconds, to walk back into the map in 2 seconds, then at least you won't make that mistake again.

Is this every map, or just Lakeside? I don't remember this ever happening on Walls.

Unable to start on my very old Windows XP Pro SP3 machine...

Yeah. Best bet, is to clean your XP install as good as possible so the OS itself takes up less than 200kb when running. Nothing else running in background. Then, try to install Ren-X. Then, manually change settings to "ultra-low [link]". Even then, I am calculating it taking at least 3.3gb of ram, so you need at least 1gb more of ram. Now, if your computer has a spare ram slot, or motherboard supports higher ram per slot, i'd tell you an upgrade may only cost 40 dollars. However, I must also tell you 40 dollars, to make a fairly crummy computer run a little better, is still a poor idea considering a computer with 8g ram you may find for like 300 dollars if you look good and well enough. Then again, maybe if you have some throw-away computers lying around somewhere, you can borrow ram from it if you did have an open slot. If you want to try it for free though, setting it to bare minimum settings, makes the game run about 2.8g at main menu, maybe a little higher in-game, so it's your best bet. -
It need to either be 7.5 or 10, and actually have a built in limit. If the crate recognizes your player speed has already gotten a crate or already reached 120 then it simply doesn't roll you the odds of getting a speed crate. 5%, is nearly unnoticable unless you get 2, and HAVING to have 2 for effect is bad design just to limit it's stacking, when you could just limit it's stacking.

So I posted a video of me playing RenX

And he is right, that does appear to be "contrast", where the red value was leaned on. Were it blue, shit would probably be snozze-berry purple... Or the greens normal while the reds are black-white. As is though, it looks like mars rock, brown-grass, and red-moss, sort of like Oblivion. Still cool, I just like watching the action, fuck the colors. If you want a suggestion for a program, try the crummy free OBS, it is actually pretty solid choice for Twitch streamers and can also record. -

This is a pic someone else took. And this one from your video, also around the Tib-Field. Your greens are brown, your reds are blood-red. -
These spots completely block the view of anyone that walks into them. I believe they also block bullets, as well as Oblesk Aggression, but that may depend on the mesh-by-mesh basis. The most annoying point is, SBH can hit and run, and if you chase them, they morph into the rocks, and even if you are wise and know they are there, you have to move your character into the rock with them to shoot them, where they can slide off the rock or whatever and just run off. Climbing rocks at Nod Vehicle Entrance overlooking the Oblesk. The ramp leading to top of hill overlooking Tiberian Field.

Weapons that cost 2 ammo, McFarland's shot and Mendoza's shot, won't fire with 1 ammo left in the clip. I think it is more detrimental than not, to prevent them from doing so. If a weapon takes 2 ammo to shoot, and you have 1 ammo left, just let the gun shoot anyway, the worse you are doing is cheating the game out of 1 bullet, in leau of jamming the gun instead and getting someone killed mid-gunfight.

3rd Person Misfire+Grenadier Backfire
RoundShades replied to RoundShades's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
Just reposting, because this still happens a lot, and I think it has something to do with camera for the sole reason that it happens when you aim straight down in Weps Factory when using a healgun, your beam will originate at and hit the roof instead of your hip and hit the floor.
