If you see something like this pls make a Screenshot (f9) or post information at what time it happened and on what map and one might be able to find the replay of it as CT keeps replays of every match. But you came here with nothing. If you see something you want to report ... pls just hit f9 and imagine how much more helpfull such a screenshot would be to clear the situation. Though i already updated beacon placing for the next patch, so that it should become quite impossible to put beacons into building geometry and into tiny cracks. This should hopefully end discussions about glitch beacons. The next patch is expected within a week or two. And btw: CampinJeff was the one who insisted that we look into beacon placing once more. It was his thread in the mod section that resulted in us giving the problem a high priority again.

  4. But it would mean you cant camp your vehicle on top of a beacon that easily anymore. If the defenders place an airstrike you have to move out of the way and you cant even drive in to crush the defenders disarming. If you have like a medtank that cant really kill inf fast at close range this should make a huge difference and should result in much less successful beacons cause you cant defend them anymore with a single or like two vehicles, no ?

    Could you check if your installation folders are the same size ? Could you provide the logs from the logs folder of your friends ? And how much ram do they have ?
  6. I think it's pretty clear the inner damage radius of remote C4 should be reduced, no ? Then we could think about instant detonation again.

  9. Yes this is possible in RenX. Replays are called "demos" in Unreal Engine. Thats why we were talking about "demos". And RypelCam is a tool i started over a decade ago to create camera work in this Unreal Engine demos/replays and it adds some other features to demos too. For example the camera work in this trailer from the Red Orchestra team was done from replays/demos with the use of RypelCam: (@Lavadragon: no arms prob is a engine prob with demos that cant be fixed with RypelCam though. So this replays work best when recording from 3rdperson camera angles. 1stperson has some issues in UE3, mainly no arms and beeing a bit laggy, that we cant really fix).
  10. Yeah I think the easiest way would be to put the player in different situations in an existing map. Like put him in a damaged building, spawn some bot enemies and tell the player to repair the building. If he manages to outrepair the onslaught he is teleported into the next situation. I think text overlay or even voice over would be enough. A mcfarland running arround with him would complicate things. How easy this could be done in kismet is something Havoc might know very well cause of his experience with Black Dawn.
  11. Yeah it kind of is. Last time i checked a demo it seemed to work pretty good. Most problems we had with demos (like repairbeams and tankturret rotation not beeing shown correctly) were fixed so there was never a better time to make movies out of demos. Though you would need to contact the serveradmins to get the demos and i think there currently isent a working link to the latest RypelCam. Need to provide a new link. Definatly would also like to do a vid myself but typically i think about movies that would need too much of my time so id need to lower my own expectations ^^ A tutorialmap from the devs ? ... i dont think we have a mapper left that would like to work in that type of minefield (players would have all kind of different ideas how a tutorialmap would look like. That together with it not beeing easy at all to do makes this a tough job. Goodluck finding someone to sign up for that ).
  12. Currently we are, for instance, working on a downloader for custom maps thats going to be integrated into the launcher and we are working on making Marathon unnecessary. Honestly by watching youtube videos of new players playing earlier versions of this game you will see that they hardly noticed the bugs, even though the earler versions had a lot more of them. The players mostly disliked the lack of progression in the game (cause of it beeing hard to understand what they should do as newbies and cause the stalemates in renx are still one of a kind).
  13. After we redesigned infantry and fixed some more bugs the next round of patches will probably focus on merging AOW and Marathon. We will most likely add score based events like dropping in reinforcements or like airstrikes that hurt buildings. So we would most like suggestions that would fit in that category and are based on one team reaching a certain score.
  14. You don't even need to launch from steam. You just need to have steam open before you start the game.
  15. There was a fix for this in 5.12 What BroTranquilty showed in his vid: We know exactly why that happens. We will eventually fix it.
  16. I think right now we are more focused on finding ways to END a game within a certain time, not to buff defence. Then again once we found reliable ways to end a game we can also work on defence again.
  17. Thx for the vid. Kinda hard to fix I think. The only fix I can think of for this would be to stop the weapon from firing in that situation.
  18. We definatly should still leave the sound "Building needs defence" etc (and the sound could still be spammed). Then they would have the building icon flashing at the bottom (we would need to modify the flash). Im not sure... but i think this would still be obvious and easy enough ? ... This could free up a lot of space on the chatbox....
  19. Increasing size might work. Would have to try it. We also might even be able to get rid of all the building messages from the chat. Wouldn't it be sufficient if we would make the building icons at the bottom of the hud flicker when someone qˋs them ?
  20. Yeah we should update the sys requirements. The current system requirements we just copied over from UDK. But the UDK specs are what you need to open up the UDK editor. Playing a full RenX map with all vehicles and the huge amount of sounds and effects etc is a little more demanding then a small UDK project. We already did quite some experiments to get ram usage down by different packaging methods etc but it just was a pain and never really worked it was just a waste of our time.
