The documentation above is describing how to work with the assets and how to make your own. "Dear dev team.. could you pls load up one of your war factorys ? or can i extract them from the SDK?" Yes. Everything is in the SDK and you can access it through the editor (the RenX* or RX* upk packages). I dont know if any of our artists is planning to make a more specific RenX documentation for content creation (besides Kenz3001 his mapping tutorials).

  5. Then pls do one and send us the link. I dont see a tutorial comming out of this dev team. There was talks about a tutorial level though as that could be something interesting and fun to do for a mapper. But that is a lot of work obviously so i wouldnt count on that ever happening. Any comprehensive documentation is hard work and not fun. And when you bring it out you just get critcized for it as always when you release something. The "devs" already are in the spotlight too much. And if everyone is just waiting on the devs to do something that is really toxic and just burns the devs. We should have communicated earlier that we need help on making a tutorial. Seriously: I hope for someone like Yosh to make a comprehensive but shorter tutorial and then we could integrate it clearly marking it as "tutorial by XY" so that they get their deserved credit for it.
  6. It doesent seem to me that anybody in the team is cut out for or willing to do a comprehensive but not too long tutorial. We would happily integrate a community made toturial. There is Yosh his guide. Wich is nice and all but its just too f*king big. No newbie would read it. But it could be the basis for a shorter tutorial.
  7. With the SDK you can do everything we did and more. Since we were able to make our own buildings you will obviously be able to make your own buildings aswell.

Yes i am pretty sure about that cause we made sure to make it like in ren. and tanks and non tanks reversing differently is their natural behaviour. opposed to a car a tank doesent steer, it rotates clockwise or counterclockwise. think of it that way. if you hit right key it rotates clockwise. and if you reverse while rotating clockwise you obviously go to the left.
  9. Original renegade also didnt had the tank reverse steering for the non tanks. We only included the tank reverse toggle option cause some people not used to the original were confused about the renegade tank reverse. So if you dont have the tank revwrse to be like the original renegade setting then tanks and non tanks will behave the same when driving backwards. Otherwise they will behave exactly like in ren where tanks reversed differently then non tanks. And this was one thing that wasent considered broken in original renegade so we had no reason to change that. I know though that in order to make everyone happy we should have a third option for reverse to make reverse the original renegade tank style for non tanks aswell. Maybe someday we will.
  10. We cant touch anything engine related. Beta 4 updated to the newest UDK. If the newest UDK doesent support SLI as before then you/we are just out of luck.

  14. Its on the same server as the file the launcher is getting. So this means you cant connect to the server for some reason. Are you behind some special firewall ? Can you deactivate it and try again ?
  15. Top five changes that come to mind. RypeL: Make stealth tank more usefull. Maybe by increasing its damage Make shotgun less efficient at range. Maybe by increasing the spread Reduce credit income from damaging and repairing by 20% Give more points for killing infantry while beeing infantry Move tib silos further away from the main vehicle paths on maps like lakeside,field,canyon

  17. I guess it would work by starting a skirmish just like you would start a server. Kust remove the "server" in the command line. There is no way to start skirmish with a mutator from the menu though.
  18. You can google for the "mutate" console command. The mutate command sends a message to all mutators on the server and they can react to it. So you could do something like "mutate sniper" and have a mutator give you a sniper then.

  20. Theres a lot of players who agreed that building loss was too harsh. There was a big thread about it. Loosing certain buildings just meant gg in most cases or extremely boring stalemates. Renegade X isent just Renegade and some people need to get used to that.

    Yeah we knew Skeeze gave B0ng access though. So that was taken into account. ... just saying but dont want to disagree with you and agree that next update could be announced sooner
  22. Ramjet not killing free inf in one shot was what pretty much anyone wanted from that thread about it as far as i remember. Not too sure what weapon values were changed as thats not my main area and i just read today in another thread that people still called the autorifle useless. Anyway: Pls all be aware that the patcher will make it a lot easier for us to roll out balance updates. Though its always hard to find out what the majority really wants. And how to balance that with the needs of the hardcore players etc. But patcher time also means balancing time. So we are listening for ideas. So if you post criticism pls make sure its constructive criticism (but pls no walls of text if you can prevent it...).
