  1. My specs are almost identical to yours, 980 TI, i7 6700K, 32GB on Win10, and I run in 3840x2160 at 60fps with the Ultra preset. Occasionally the frame rate dips a little bit, but that's to be expected. Not sure what the issue is but you might want to poke around in the Nvidia Control Panel. I had to do some tweaks in the "Manage 3D Settings - Antialias" settings to get things to perform right.
  2. I'd like to see an extra AA tower in each base in a hard-to-reach place.
  3. I'm not sold on this getting its own message. There are plenty of times you may "save a building" by discovering and killing the chemtrooper inside while the rest of your team is doing who-the-hell-knows-what, and these types of saves aren't recognized either. You are already rewarded by the points, credits and veterancy for the repair/kill plus can take advantage of continued use of the building, and that should hopefully be enough.
  4. Once there is a stable version of the launcher it should probably be submitted to the AV companies. They'll whitelist the file and sometimes it helps prevent false positives in future versions if they're similar enough.
  5. Even if you are waiting for credits to buy sniper, or only want to snipe, that's up to you. Teamplay, while recommended, is not required in this game. Being a lone-wolf or a sniper is not grounds to kick someone even if it may garner verbal complaints. Throwing c4 on you so you can't refill, on the other hand, is team hampering, and IS grounds to kick. If someone does this to you I wouldn't hesitate to call a vote.
  6. Game DVR is already disabled. In fact I wrote a program that does it: http://www.christianwheel.com/single-post/2016/11/02/Windows-10-Game-Bar-Disabler No longer think this is a driver issue, as after installing the true nvidia driver the problem persists. Although I guess it's possible that the driver issue is present in the native driver - I have a 980ti, does anyone else with this card have this problem?
  7. After thinking about it for a bit, I'm pretty sure this started when Windows 10 installed updates on Tuesday. Probably was a video update in there. I can roll back but it'll just force the update through again.
  8. Hi all, Noticed this problem in multiplayer and confirmed it in skirmish. When my team has the comm center and I press the M key to see the map, it is not drawn. Here's a screenshot. Notice I'm GDI, you can see the comm center is ours, but the map is simply not rendered. Any ideas?

    MVP

Back in OldRen, at the end of the map, one player was designated MVP. It was the player with the most points, but I never liked that method of determining MVP, because it encouraged pointwhoring. Maybe the person with the most veteran points? In any case, I'd love to see that make a return, with some bonus on the next map for being MVP. Maybe your vote could count as 2 when voting for which map to play. Or perhaps you could start off with some extra money. In OldRen you also got a designation next to your name on the new map that you were MVP of the last one. Just throwing ideas around, what do you guys think?
  10. I'm a lone wolf. I don't play well with others, but when I sneak past your base entrance I will surely fuck you up.
  11. Can confirm the game is drastically different and improved since 4.02. There are many things that will take some getting used to, but they're all for the best. Crashes are nearly nonexistent now. Once in a while I'll get a crash when joining a server, but no more often than any other game.
  12. Here's a weird one: When you're sprinting and you enter water, your sprint will continue to deplete until you exit the water, even if you release the sprint key.
  13. There's a spot on the new path, near the rock, where you can get tiberium poisoning. Screenshot: http://i.imgur.com/QmQbl3K.jpg
  14. It could take up your item slot and have a small radius, encouraging teamwork for beacon runs or infantry-rushes.
  15. I like the idea that it only displays units when they fire or repair. I'd also like to see a purchasable item that cloaks you from being seen in this way.
  16. I play (and prefer) mostly smaller games (5v5 is wonderful IMHO, no bigger than 10v10). In this context, old Field was better (and I already wasn't crazy about it). I wouldn't go so far as to call new Field a "disgrace" though. Alkaline's rant reminds me of the infamous Grilled Cheese / Melt thread, in that I think it's blown a little out of proportion while still being factually accurate. It WOULD be nice to have "Field Classic" available. Is this possible?
  17. Base defenses only target you when A) you're in range and B) you're not behind an obstacle. Doors seem to be some sort of special-case obstacle to facilitate both an open and closed state, but base defenses ignore the state of the door and will fire at you regardless. Furthermore, their projectiles are able to penetrate closed doors, it's not just splash damage.
  18. On the GDI bridge, there are these little areas where the sand meets the road that you get stuck on when walking/running. You have to jump to get over them. They're not entirely obvious and frustrating when engaged in a firefight. Overall I really like this version of Eyes though.
  19. Just noticed this when I was a tech inside the GDI ref in Eyes. If you've made it into the ref, even with the door shut, the guard tower (the little one that sits between the WF and the Ref at the back entrance) still shoots you (and kills you) through the closed doors of the ref when you're approaching the MCT. Turrets do this too. You can verify on Goldrush by stepping into the HON and moving a little to the obelisk side of the back door (the one facing PP), but far away enough to allow it to close.
  20. This has been an issue in a few matches now that we have the refill delay. There is no recourse for a hotwire repairing the barracks MCT from a flame rush behind the bar (on Walls, XMountain, etc). They either die, or let their building die. Perhaps that's by design.
  21. Interestingly enough, it worked today. I tried 3x yesterday and couldn't get it to go. Will see if I can find more specific circumstances under which this happens.
  22. The new beacon system in 5.15 seems to allow beacons to be embedded in geometry and they can be difficult to find. I already posted one example earlier (which I will repost below) but experienced a new instance this morning that was more egregious. You'll probably need to click these into full screen to actually see the beacons. Example 1 (Beacon is in PP geometry): Example 2 (Beacon is in rock): This second example is VERY hard, if not impossible to see.
  23. I did. Had no effect.
  24. RypeL, nothing you said comes off as offensive. As an old-time Renegader and someone who was quite active in developing add-ons for Renegade (WOLSpy, RenGuard, RenStat, FDSWeb), I can honestly say I had no idea that Renegade X existed until shortly before it was released. Had I known I would certainly have offered my services. Since RX has come out, I can, from the bottom of my heart, say that it has become my favorite game OF ALL TIME. This is pretty much the only game I play now. I'm probably an extreme example, but I feel it's a worthy iteration of the original Renegade. While ex-Renegaders certainly are entitled to an opinion, as is everyone else, they need to understand that this is NOT a re-creation of Renegade, this is a new evolution. Even though most of the units and buildings are based on Renegade, this is a different game with different strategies, strengths and weaknesses. It's obvious that Totem Arts isn't trying to redo what Westwood did with modern graphics, it's goal is to revive and build upon a genre of gameplay that nobody else has done since. Yes, map bugs like getting stuck are annoying, but those exist in any beta and will be ironed out in due time. Tank and projectile physics are bound to feel different since the physics are not rendered by the W3D engine. I agree that the handling can be improved on some vehicles (Nod APC drives like a potato), but you get used to the vehicle handling soon. As for little reward for skill, well, this is a complex topic because you have to strike a balance between skilled & experienced players vs newbies, and this is where I actually think Westwood's biggest failure with Ren was. The original Renegade was TOO punishing to new players, and that's largely why it never took off the way it should have. The gameplay is EXTREMELY complex, and experienced and intermediate players are not very friendly to new players who are, for example, mining. HaTe, these are all valid criticisms of the game, many of which I agree with. But I feel like some of the points are coming from the perspective of players expecting a straight port of Renegade, which we all know this isn't. But thank you for collecting and compiling the criticism. I'm hopeful that this thread inspires others to voice their concerns as well so the devs can have the feedback they need to make this great game even better.
  25. Just sits at "Waiting for other players".
