  2. Think I would stick with maybe increasing size at most. People are already unobservant enough, so having messages at the bottom of the screen doesn't help.
  3. The General rule is Flak is 50% resistance to explosives with 30% vulnerability to bullets. Kevlar is 30% resistance to bullets. This is mostly true across the board but there are some exceptions to those values, like a lot of sidearms have less extreme multipliers. Snipers and energy things like lasers don't have any multipliers, which is why the Lcg still wipes the floor with whatever it looks at.
  4. Honestly, we really should update the system requirements. Granted I'm pretty sure I could get RenX to work under his hardware.
  5. ^ Also Training Yard could honestly just get rid of all boundaries and kill you if you're dumb enough to walk off of the map.
  6. Think we should just make it official like PUGs and therefore have a topic that tracks these things. I say we agree on one time that we'll use for every week, and then every week we'll have an established set of maps to test on. I'm personally pushing for a Friday/Saturday time-frame.   8. Ah, you missed it by a bit. TMX actually used to have an avid group of people that played. Some may still want to pick it up for a game or 2.
  9. I've suggested many times to make a group of people willing to test the maps. Could be like twice a week at a specific time like the pug and play/test them but... there's always a big % of the people that say they want to test but only show up like 1 or 2 times (like the testing of beta 4). After this patch is out of the way, we're mostly just focused on content and bug fixes, so I'm down to start testing maps after PUGs. We just need to make a master topic to plan what maps we're going to test and what-not. I'll have B0ng make sure they're on the server, and everyone who's going to test can just look at the topic to see what we're testing that week.

    You can walk right up the rocks behind the Barracks. Just show collision and you'll be able to see the ramp (it'd be on your right if you're looking directly behind the Barracks).
  11. Not trying to make this patch any larger than it has to be, so no new maps for now. Will work on that afterward I guess. I was able to break Snow in about 5 minutes.
  12. Think it's about time to start making that "isCompetitive" value in the configuration files actually do something...like refuse name changes, manual team switching, and probably a host of other things.

  17. Did you update from beta 4 ? I believe the beta 4 installer never sets permissions right on the Renegade X folder after it installs it, so you'd have to have run the launcher as an admin and re-patch. You're probably better off just downloading the current beta and patching from there. Current beta download should set permissions and such.

  21. Sakura Hotwire LCG's and any other infantry with height differences to th standard soldier have ( maybe always have had) really weird hit boxes. I think only people that sniped for a living noticed it before, but now with infantry being more common a lot more people have taken note.
  22. ?.....so the minelimit doesn't go down or something!?? Cuz seriously it is still way more effective to just eat mines if GDI has even one decent patrol.
  23. When the hell did this topic blow up? Anywho, before reading this, I had already changed the repair tool. A) It has 350 (might even move it back to its original 200) for ammo. Hotties and Techs have the heavy pistol by default, and just set their speed back to normal, though that was moreso so it didn't break their ability to run into the strip on Field. And I would also like to bring up the point that whenever there is an influx of newer people playing, Nod's win ratio gets significantly higher... as GDI players either get too paranoid about SBHs and camp the whole game till they finally get broken, or they have no concept of SBHs and get nuked/C4'd to death. And now GDI players don't even Tech their Meds right... and people make attempts to use the repair tool in the field, which is utterly terrible because you have to be glued to the tank, and it repairs slow, AND it obviously can't hold out and be effective for constant repairs. I personally never liked the idea of repair tools disarming beacons fully before recharging, so I'm more for setting back to being 200-250 for ammo. On the topic of SBHs eating mines (or anyone for that matter), they can only take one. 2 Kills them. There's just several spots in buildings where mines are (and actually always have been) glitched and did less damage. The threshold of the Barracks doors is one of those places. Glitch is also fixed now.

Still seeing almost no difference in how them disarming mines is OP when the last 4 betas all it took was the same 3 SBH breaking mines through the wall, taking minimal damage and walking in without ever unstealthing. THAT took no real risks. Sitting outside of a door, totally unstealthed for like 15 seconds is more dangerous than anything else. As for tanking mines, nothings really changed...except SBH have to give up Half of their health now instead of like 20%
