  2. It just... is a thing now. No real reason to get rid of it considering it only comes into play either at range, or for assassinating people from behind to make sure you don't miss. Other than that, the spread on most weapons is about as negligible as it was in OldRen. What are you talking about? It's stronger than it was in OldRen BY FAR. Been a proven fact for the longest now. It's DPS is significantly higher, especially vs. vehicles. Those sights are just ugly though... DPS is barely any higher than the Volt Rifle to be honest. 'Doza and Mobeius are both meant to be CQC units, and building killers. So putting them in CQC with a building only kinda' makes sense that they rape the MCT. It really is only too much damage after their Elite modifier tbh. Gunner is GDI's hardest possible counter to Artillery in the game. He can shoot across the entire map... and he has the Carbine which can brokenly shred through every infantry unit in the game still. Also.... buying Sydney instead of Gunner because she feels 'better'.... just kind of sounds like exactly what the game's going for considering the $550 difference. Like has already been said: the system literally broke everything in terms of infantry balance in the game. It was almost worse than OldRen's infantry balance, to the point where out of 14 classes, about 4 were viable, and the rest were just novelties that were fun to dick around with. Be happy they even shoot buildings. The most after of after thoughts.

  6. Failing to see how this is from StarCraft in anyway.... Shields regenerate. They're not 'shields', they're a state of building integrity incapable of being healed through means of the repair gun WHICH IN AND OF ITSELF WASN'T A REAL THING IN TW1. It was just a thing they added to Ren because they needed a healing mechanic that was simple... if not outright boring. If that's literally the breaking point of RenX for you, then there's no saving you. There's still building repair spam, spamming left click on an MCT, and AFK repairing a building to be #1 on a team without even being at your keyboard. It's been working fairly well, if not outright superbly. I can't even be convinced to go back to OldRen. Installed it to steal sounds... and that's about it.
  7. Look around the topics on the forum and see if your permissions on the Renegade X folder are set right. If they're not, the launcher tends to not update correctly since it can't actually move the files in the destination.
  8. Was the original behaviour from Unreal Tournament, meant so that people get kills when they hit someone with a launcher and knocked them off of the map. Still kind of applies to RenX so you can't suicide and deny kills/points/VP
  9. Less that, and more like everyone's (The like..4 of us) pretty burnt out... on top of not being paid. Progress on everything is... minimal. Plenty of TODO comments lying around right now.
  10. More problems than solutions. Not exactly a problem for vehicles to be able to defend themselves up close, especially since C4 is the biggest damage dealer to them.

  13. Well we know 40 player PUGs -can- work. It just works better when the appropriate people tell people to shut up and colour. Was nobody around to do that last night.. I piped up for like 5 minutes on Whiteout last night... and it resulted in some perma on Bar, but I was far too intoxicated to keep up trying to play commander/TS-moderator. Seriously need more people not afraid to tell people to shut the fu** up.

    Would be nice if ANYONE on the dev team had the issue... be a lot easier to troubleshoot. I theoretically should be the one with all the connection issues....

Was honestly still debating going back to having Orca/Apache rockets not lock and just move faster for one, so air battles are less weird and unintuitive with the whole 'move in - hope you lock on first - move out... probably just go back to base'. It's actually more lag-based than skill-based right about now, one reason you rarely see me fly Apaches/Orcas.... I'm always struggling to lock onto anything (I just have to guess where the server thinks I should be looking to lock). On top of editing how rockets work, removing the passengers seat may fix a 'problem' with Walls: that being that holding the plateau after you have mass air is a cake walk, since Apaches/Orcas in mass (especially coordinated) can easily ferry infantry to the top as well. ---------------- Overall I think their damages could use some tweaking... but maybe not too much. They do a lot, but they're far from overpowered. 6 breaking armour in one 2-3 seconds isn't actually that much more impressive than 6 flamers doing, or Meds/MRLS or Mammoths. Honestly I'd say Lakeside is just an imbalanced map for aircraft because of one MAJOR flaw: Aircraft can just use the infantry paths (the chasm and the forest) which means that their greatest threats (APCs/Humvees/Buggies) can't react to them UNTIL they're pretty much in their base doing damage. It's not like you can intercept Apaches with anything but Orcas (or vice versa) until it's too late. On Whiteout/Walls, aside from right on the plateau, Apaches/Orcas still have to move over vehicle lanes to rush, and even then, if they go straight over the middle they're click bait for snipers/rockets... but also still have to deal with taking damage after they're past the plateau, and still not able to do damage yet. ------------------- On the subject of buffing SAMs... they already got the largest damage buff ever like 8 patches ago. Maybe to stick with the theme of CnC(3), I'd be willing to add some fairly significant splash damage though, that way large groupings of aircraft are less viable until they're down. At most making the rocket's damage 75*2 would be acceptable, as opposed to the current 50*2
  16. I'm not going to lie.... that is the most fun I've had in a PUG in probably around half a year. Iron Curtain of B0ng and Yosh. #TEAMDANKALICIOUS
  17. sO LONg as purchasable mines aren't a thing I don't care what you come up with. Just... .decide on something. Henk: for the love of God, rig something in a map and I will happily add it to a patch for the sake of testing. I can think of a 1000 other reasons people don't play Ren/RenX .... the most prominent being that it's a 'tactical shooter' that emphasizes being Unreal levels of god-like at aiming to be good. Mines are over-hyped.
