  1. I think I finally know names again... so I'll balance out teams next week. We also shouldn't have to worry about teams at the beginning of every match since the patch finally dropped. My drunken tail was able to look at teams as soon as I joined and tell who was probably dominating. Also.... #RIPDozas .... So sad, we probably would have won Won Arctic if we had a minute and a half extra
  2. Should PUGs be changed to Marathon? Honestly enough changes have been made to keep the game flowing even during 'stalemates'. Im all for it. Plus, when all else fails we have surrender as an option
  3. That's not even a thing. Never actually made it in, and didn't notice till after the patch was live.
  4. Considering it was literally complained about by more people, and half the time had a 'change map' vote right when it started, I'd call it pretty well documented as boring. It also generally ended in surrenders or map changes.
  5. I did...and Field was shunned because the games would NOT end in 30 minutes. Defending took like 2 dedicated people and those two people to just be really loud on TS if something did come. Again...this 'teamwork' you speak of still comes down to just nobody noticing something. Outrepairing volt Rifle's in Olden wasn't hard, and it's easier in RenX being able to sprint. This is about the time when I wish Hate would show his ass. About the only time Field would end when both teams were equally good was when it was like 6v6 tops. He'll, even in the current PUGS for RenX it's hard as hell to make Field end. Its just not nearly as boring to throw yourself at 5 chokepoints as it is at 2.
  6. I already had this partially implemented in the launcher for some time ago, but I never finished it due to other priorities. You could login on IRC, send messages and see the online people. Still need to fix the message receiving part. If it is wanted, I could do an attempt to integrate it again. This is literally the 1st thing I had asked to be incorporated into the launchers =p
  7. I second that. Also, I still think we get the award for best rush of the night though. 6 APCs masking 8 rocket soldiers through the tunnel.

Considering all you have to do is have presence in the tunnels (like always) the tunnel part really didn't change much, except making teams have to be more aware and less just camping one tunnel entrance. If you really think 'teamwork' is what won Field before this, you're about as crazy as the rest of them. Field was usually won by beating your head against the wall till either A) GDI killed the HON after a 2 hour seige, or B) that ONE person stopped camping the tunnel just in time for a rush to come down. That's pure and utter luck, not really teamwork. The map was terrible. It had more wins via surrender or changemap than actual wins. Unless you're counting when it's like 8v8, then Field was playable. But only having one stupid, 90 degree angle turn vehicle entrance, plus 2 tunnel entrances that can be camped from one spot in the base to deny everything was not even remotely a good map design. In a 20v20, most Field games were just decided by which team got the most bored people first, as defending against 'teamwork' was piss easy because it was just clusterfucks of people jamming themselves into narrow choke-points. Also... you're overwhelmingly outvoted on whether new or old Field is better. The only time it 'feels' worse is when it's like a 5v5, since there's actually options now, and one person can't stop literally everything.
  12. This is usually a good thing. People listen to the loud people.. of which you and Quincey both aren't that loud. We basically just relay whatever either of you says to drive it into people's heads. Me and b0ng have become less commanders, and more of ... command amplifiers.

  14. The in-game downloader is the base UDK downloader and maxes out at 10KBps ...... yes, 10. Everyone downloads about that slow, unless the server has an HTTP redirect setup, and that times out after 30 seconds to go back to 10KBps. The launcher downloading slow probably just has more to do with you somehow ending up on a terrible mirror, as I download ~8MBps on it, and most of us get our full speed with the occasional spike
  15. Make sure no servers are selected so that it isn't playing any of the movies in the launcher, then also restart your computer before trying again to make sure it isn't just a latent process in the background.

  19. Kinda been a thing since 2002. You always kill Bar 1St...Camping with infantry + refills can stalemate any game. I mean, unless the team with just infantry is deaf blind and dumb. However I don't think making the sniper available is really a solution...as that hinges on said team having a decent sniper to even have an impact.
  20. You honestly see most of the US population playing in the PUG... other than that we're all sorts of spread out.

  22. Did you literally gloss over the important part of that post about 'different version' just to have a glory moment of your own? Yes. No point having a minimap made for Eyes if it won't be a thing anymore. Of course there's one for Glasses.
  23. You don't have to run a local server to test mutator, unless it's specifically to test that they work online, You can just drop the 'server' switch from the command-line and then write in mutators after the map name as usual. Did it plenty for the commander mod.
  24. Considering Eyes isn't even being worked on, and there's a totally different version of it now, I'd say this is pretty pointless
