TL;DR : Buff it so GDI has a better alternative to 'pressure' (not just outright kill) Arty/Tech/Flamer repairs as opposed to just suicidal runs with APCs, and those god awful, cancerous snipers. Also I'm fairly certain the Stank beats infantry easier than the Mammoth right now.

You would have to use seamless loading which RenX hasn't used since the days of crashing every single game. I think Agent had an alternative at some point, but I don't know if you can tap into that with a mutator

yes, we found a faster way to update the game

Good to hear, though we still may work on a Hong Kong mirror. -
After 4 months or so of trying to make Renegade X multiplayer run
yosh56 replied to Ballowers's topic in Renegade X
Those patches weren't in regard to any problems of that nature, but if it works it works. The launcher might have had an issue with downloading or something that was giving you the ambiguous package error. Maybe that was it, as the launcher was recently updated to be smarter about downloading things. -
I wouldn't say that... as that's a loaded gun ready to be fired... Granted for the most part it is true.
-
False. It was accidental in beta 1, and banned on aircraft because you could snipe/Gunner Rush from on top of Trannys. Ground vehicle surfing was never banned and eventually accepted. I... honestly don't have that much of a problem with it on ground vehicles considering all the infantry still take splash damage.

Please release standalone patch package

You willing to host a CN mirror? Also Downloading at 5-10MBps + in Japan. Though us and Korea are probably bad metrics to go off of. -
So what clients doesn't it replicate to?
-
How are you confirming that it actually sets it on the server?
-
Sooo if you can flesh this out, I'd be down to pitch a map idea involving it that is easily do-able. Namely a base with structures that can be 'killed', but will be resurrected by the ConYard if it is left alive. All structures, except the ConYard itself, would have decreased armor values. The ConYard would have normal armor values, but likely increased health, and destruction of the Conyard itself would cause either a slow decay of all other buildings, or instant gameover conditions.

Honestly concur... Matches average out to like 30 minutes to an hour, with some exceptions that are more map-related than mechanic related [*cough* Reservoir *cough*] Even Under only really averages a little over or under an hour, and comebacks are still a thing, depending on the map. Kind of siding with @Kaiser739 on this one. Everything's kind of been entered as necessary, and patched to hell until it finally found a pretty balanced, but still tip-able, state.

Not even including OldRen on the list. See, I eventually created this topic! Was just wondering if anybody was interested in possibly mixing up the Pick Up Games by playing one of the STANDALONE mods from CnC: Renegade. The engine is old, and pretty ugly to be honest, but I think they (mostly APB) were better than vanilla Renegade after they had a few updates and fleshed themselves out. They're both free, and neither one requires you have CnC: Renegade installed or anything. You can install both from the W3D launcher... >> Here << Apparently Apocalypse Rising never actually made it out, but honestly that doesn't shock me. If the interest in trying new things is there I can look into getting a server setup, as last I checked both of those were outright dead, though maybe it was just bad timing. Before I really start messing with it (as we're going to need a way to setup teams as well) I'm just looking into the interest I can get out of it first. I honestly think it would be a welcome change once or twice to play a similar game, but not one that everyone knows far too well.

....And this entire topic is probably a good reason as to why there was never a sequel. Dis' shit hard, yo.

Exec functions are usually simulated and called on the client themselves. You would have to call either a reliable, or unreliable 'server' function from one command (The command on the client), then in the actual server command is where you would take that action. Like: exec function ToggleTestMode() { //Just call for server to try and toggle ServerToggleTestMode() } reliable server function ServerToggleTestMode() { if ((PlayerReplicationInfo.bAdmin) == true ) //Only ever do admin checks on the actual server. { if (bTestMode) { TestModeStop(); } else { TestModeStart(); } } else { ClientMessage("First login as admin",,1); } } You also don't need TestModeStop(), and TestModeStart() to be simulated, since they should always be toggled on the server or in a realm where they have ROLE_AUTHORITY.
-
Should be fixed. You may have to open command prompt and type "ipconfig /flushdns" without the quotes. As it may keep looking for the old server if you do.
-
Give it... 15 minutes. Dead mirror lying around from days past apparently.

@DarkSn4ke There was a launcher update pushed like 2 hours ago. -- Check Task Manager and make sure Renegade X Launcher isn't running still in the background. Happened to me once. Also, I tried that direct link and it opens/downloads just fine

Game Launcher NOT Updating After Downloading the Update
yosh56 replied to baner's topic in Feedback & Bug Reports
Atlanta mirror should be fixed now. Issues should be resolved. -
So, because there's no test like a field test, try the current beta launcher, as it's being built to get around these issues. https://1drv.ms/u/s!AgXyJp7Cq5Mzj7pNyrDTQtu5mhUiEw <- launcher download. Make a backup copy of your current launcher first though, as it is still a beta launcher. After you have a backup of it, just replace the files from the new launcher into your launcher folder and run it.

I dunno, that thing is useless against moving targets, like anyone repairing that isn't brain dead. Also.... I still have yet to see one instance of them being THAT combat effective in anything other than a building. Swear we're playing 2 different games. Also, even the silenced pistol can kill in one clip.. bad point.
-
Since when does that go under as a 'problem'? Also, no. Limiting infantry classes would honestly just be more frustrating and make the game more linear than necessary.
-
After like the first 2 shots its spread is too high and it unloads its clip too fast.. It's pretty hard to use against anyone in any situation other than CQC vs. flak. And Techs/Hotties being able to kill each other easily isn't that bad imho
-
Considering the silenced SMG is built to only be good vs. people not paying attention.... it might actually work.

ForceDownloadViaServer.bat has something wrong in my computer
yosh56 replied to [Dragon]MK3's topic in Technical Support
Weird. so long as instructions.json is there it should work fine.. I'll look into it. -
If your Kill/Death Ratio is absurdly high, like 50.0, that gets calculated in Defensive and Offensive POG, so yes you can get best defense if the enemy team doesn't really ever hit your base and everyone on your team has really low defensive scores. Offense is based more on aggressive gameplay and doing things actually IN the enemy base (like sniping into their base) is weighed pretty heavily. MVP is based on the amalgamation of Offensive/Defensive/Support scores. Basically who ever had the best when they're all put together.
