  1. how can you compair a game like csgo to renx with the hardware ya running... 

    csgo is running on source engine which is much older then ue3... csgo is not that demanding as there is little to no physics simulation 

     

    you system would struggle to play any modern aaa game from the last 5 years... but you say your system is medium when i fact it just makes it to an entry level system (if that) 

     

    using the workstation insider program is silly with that system as the workstation build is for high core count and a butt tone of ram 64gb+...whe is you only have a 2 core cpu that is 10 years out of date and 4gb of my bet ddr2 ram

     

    top and bottem is you cant complain about low fps with a old system that doesn't meet the minimum system requirements

     

    over the builds we have streamlined and optimized but the game will never play like Dota or solitaire

    i might as well kick start this back up as i did kill it

     

    as many of you mi hgt not know i do have a life out side renx lol ... ive got a beautiful 8 month old baby girl you loves keeping me and the wife awake, she pretty much is my who life right now i spend as much time as i can with her ... in 2 months i go for a total hip replacement so i can finally walk with out looking like a shit myself lol and not having all this pain every time i move (well walk in general and be able to finally play on with my baby girl properly ;))

  3. some udk meshes are locked... meaning you can't change any thing about them in the mesh editor... There is a way to get around it.

    you need to export the mesh as fbx or obj and reimport it to your package... when you do this you will no lose collison and some quality to the mesh but  you will now be able to mess with the material in the mesh editor

    i have modified it extensively for air units to have some sort of balance its far from perfect

  5. i think she is on about the mountain reflection (the same trick is used on goldrush boats) the mountain is just a flat mesh and the reflection is the same mesh flipped horizontally and placed under the water mesh (water mat needs to be transparent)

    i dont know of any other water reflections on lakeside

  6. built paths?... but i would need to see t by e map to find out what's going on... 

     

    what was said above is most likely the colprit... but last time i seen your map I told you about all the artifacted volumes you had coz the volumes were to complex and had concave parts 

  7. well i agree it can be very handy to find out what is killing fps in areas ... but what i show in these vids if applied to all the meshes, emitters, decals, ect mappers should get there maps to a very reasonable level of optimization the profiler is for very specific problems

    i recorded all these vids before i had a baby to contend with and dont have alot of time / peace and quiet to set up and record more (but dont think there would be any point in others as i go though the most important stuff)
