  2. Base animation set is nearing completion. There, now you can not say there was no news.
  3. ****ing EA with the C&C name. All the good ideas the cancel and all the ****ball quick money games they push out the door. They wont put out another FPS C&C game (mixed with RTS or not), but are sure have no problem crapping all over the original RTS over and over.

  5. Yes in general, No in specifics. Bump Maps are just a grayscale image that basically is a heightmap. White areas are higher and black areas are lower. On the other hand, Normal maps are Red, Green, Blue colors/mixtures (see the above images for examples). Rather than just raising and lower (fake-wise), the normal map interacts with the pixels, the lights, and model to fake the overall all effect of more detail by playing with the lighting information.

  8. Yea, stuff like real life gets in the way all too often and easy. If this mod was a source of income I could devote more time to it, but sadly it is not. Maybe in time.
  9. Better not be dead. Havoc and I just worked out all the kinks for rigs. Guess there is no need to do animations for a dead game. ha

  11. If you dig deep enough, you can find "Flight of the Valkyrie" and you can find TONS of placeholder sound effects done by someone just making noises into the mic.

  13. http://xhp.xwis.net/ Get XCC Mixer Put Tib Dawn cd in the drive Through XCC navigate around to your cd drive and start digging. Should be able to sort by type and look for audio formats. I want to say .wav, but unsure on TD since it have been so long. Should be able to play the file through XCC program to see if you got the right ones. (might be sound effects, etc) Should be able to right click and extract or save as something. Then there you go. I did this for getting music from Tib Dawn - Firstorm. I also used it for modding Renegade. I also used this in the same manner (navigating to my cd drive) with various games (Ghost Recon, lots of Battlefields, Raven Shield, etc) to find textures, models, sounds, music, etc. Again, I have not touched that program much in the past 4 years, so hopefully that will work. -edit- Must have missed it the first time. I am not sure about Frist Decade CDs. I ripped all mine from the originals.

This shader (explained more by the creator in the link) allows users to take a realtime shot (aka a viewport screengrab) of their models to show off as a realtime look, rather than actually rendering (aka not realtime, using post processing). Be sure to look through the thread for the link to his actual site for all the info you can get on it. Also take a look at the thread and his site for examples of peoples work using this shader.

  17. I thought this was really neat and sparked even more mod ideas for SC2. Check out how they have a 3rd person shooter and a top down shooter map through the editor.
  18. I am just wondering... If this game NEEDS the EA server to play, what happens after a few years when EA shuts down the TibTwilight server? Can people no longer play the game? Even for single player? Will the community have to rely on a party like how xwis (?) did for Ren?
  19. Watched them all also. Glad I did not pay 50 bucks to just end up with more questions rather than "answers to all your questions."
  20. I stopped following this game ever since version7 of the beta (think it made it to like v18). I for am glad to see how people are reacting to the game. As it was all I posted on the forums about. Yet I only got called a "fanboy" and never heard from an of the Devs.

    Hero units

    Problem with this is...who gets to control this "one" unit? We sort of ran into this issue when we wanted to make the Cyborg Commando and Ghost for Reborn have a max count of one at anytime.
  22. Main problem with this, that I see, would be...engineers/C4 basically. One hottie/tech with an ammo refill ability + them having C4 = one person could kill an whole base without returning to refill.
  23. Already got the mammy and the flame tank. Along with an orca and a stealth tank. Each came with like 6 infantry, so I got a lot of them also.

  25. Ha. After being in the beta for TT, they have ALOT more to worry about in losing sales than a mod. Emailing them is the safest thing to do. If they say yes, then you can start. If they say no, then you know you will get shut down if they find out. Personally, just do it. If they shut you down, you get practice and can make a new one. If they dont say anything, then you can continue on.
