  1. 500 sniper is MUCH more sneaky, it has a silencer and a next to invisible projectile track. 1000 Ramjet is loud and has an extremely visible bright blue projectile track, 2 shots and then they know where you are. i suck at sniping and rarely play it, but when i do i always go for the 500 sniper because of stealth reasons. just sitting in that bush until my ammo runs out.
  2. Warcraft 3 with its sweet campaign and custom game modes, Legion TD, Footman VS grunts, Enfo etc... Have been thinking of getting Age of Empires 2, been watching alot of good streams of it lately.
  3. Anyone remember the Lands of Lore series? I kinda loved 1 and 2. also The Legend of Kyrandia where Joe kucan did the voice acting for the main protagonist.
  4. ive never experienced it traveling between devices like that, my other emails has been postboxes and nothing else. google is google i guess. If this wasnt connected to my email i would consider it malware and delete.
  5. I think you must be correct Moat, i logged in with my gmail account to download that C&C rival game (ragequitted before tutorial was over), i kept finding alot of relevant suggestions of things i had goggled or youtubed at home. Google is watching us, scary.
  6. I booted up my new Phone today and decided to see how efficient it was online. Start typing in Google and already at "renega..." it suggests "renegade x Kaunas". Not complaining but why and how.
  7. I would prefer any trailer footage to be legit ingame action. setting up all the pieces in advance for a cool scene is fine but the combat needs to at least look real. the justdoitup trailer was great.
  8. Lavadr4gon captured that scene so exquisitely in one of his moment videos, its the first thing i show to people who know nothing about the game.
  9. Today i finished building a PC for customer who had failed at building it himself. i5 7600K, Geforce 1070, 16 gigs DDR 4 2233 mhz (meeh), some "gaming" motherboard (its practically just a catchphrase by now, like blast processing) When he first came in he said he done everything correct and with care, couldnt get it to start he said. I take it from him and he leaves. I Plug it in and it seriously triggers the voltage protection and shuts down an entire row with computers, brilliant. I switch the PSU which stops it from triggering the voltage protection but it still won't start anything other than the ridicilous decorative LED lights on the motherboard. I rip out the DDR4 and 1070 and put them into another PC just to make sure they are working, nothing wrong with them. I start googling all the parts to see if anything is missing (cus he didnt give me the manuals), like the motherboard bios being too old to handle the i5 7600 was my first guess. Turns out he had forgotten the power supply cable for the CPU water coolant, i call him about it and he says he didnt think it was necessary, brings it in the next day. i plug it in and IT STILL WON'T WORK, so I unscrew the water coolant to have a look at the CPU and guess what, like 5 pins in the socket that are completely fucked, i call him about it and he says hes gonna order a new motherboard. a week later he comes in with a new one and i get to work, starts rebuilding everything from scratch, took about 2 days to build with all the other stuff i gotta do at work simultaneously. I call him and he comes in, i boot it up and starts explaining how harddrives and whatnot work because he doesnt seem to have a clue, he picks it up and leaves with his mother. 30 minutes later he calls and asks why his internet isn't working. Is your internet cable plugged in? No? whats that? ... I can't connect to my wifi. your motherboard doesnt have Wifi and you don't have a wifi card installed, you have a stationary PC built for gaming, you DONT WANT to use wifi. where can i get an internet cable? like in any tech oriented store in town, there are like 10 places. ok, thx bye. 20 minutes later he calls again. My PC is too loud. you where here when i booted it up, is it louder than it was then? i dont know. You have 5 large fans installed, they make noise. can i unplug the ones that are making the noise? sure, why not, its your PC now.
  10. In deathmatch they are good, may even come across as human players in some brief occasions, in other modes where tactical thinking is required like CTF or Blitz, nope. they aren't really good at anything that doesnt involve shooting other players/bots. Its not uncommon at all for them to teamhamper with bad decisions, they dont freeze up that often but it does happen now and then. kinda similar to how a bot carrying the bomb in counter strike may screw things up.
  11. End of december/early januari is your window of opportunity, tech stuff like PC parts will be cheaper. Pro tip unless you dont know already know: buy the parts and build it yourself, don't buy prebuilt overpriced garbage. If you get all the correct parts its about as hard as putting togheter slightly more complicated IKEA furniture and Windows 10 does all the drivers and shit by itself nowadays, doesnt even cost money to use legit anymore. Carefull with the CPU installation, the rest is cake. I dont know you yet, maybe you are a super skilled user and know what you need but in case you aren't and cus im little drunk and salty. THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A GAMING LAPTOP, IT HAS NEVER EXISTED AND IT NEVER WILL, they will rip you off with an overpriced hot potato with a degrading battery life support.
  12. but still, play with us preferably because bots doesn't even come close in comparison of the online experience, they are dumb as dirt in all games since forever.
  13. Seriously?! For real i have NEVER seen a bot do anything like that. If they manage to pathfind their way into the enemy base without dying or getting stuck ive come to expect them to be docile once there, unless someone is engaging them or vice versa. I see the same problems with bots in unreal tournament 4 outside of DM or TDM as with bots in Renegade X. Their AI is built mainly with waypoints, it can't really do tactical prioritizations like changing targets unless it has to (i.e taking damage) or target dies, and there is ALOT of strategic thinking in Renegade X, i would guess making a bot come across as a human would require more coding than its worth in game modes such as this. still i love them for their stupidity, sometimes i get stuck observing them ingame, its contagious. i once asked ingame some year ago if they had EVER been impressed by an AI in any game, and someone responded with "Yes, perfect dark". i have yet to experience either.
  14. lol you can just play with us, its a small community, we pretty much all know eachother.
  15. I haven't managed to add an avatar icon shortcut for the game yet due to how the whole overlay system works, there is no picture for it and i cant add it myself, thats up to some randoms devs in australia, its in beta... Renegade X is installed but very much hidden in the vast steam library, i do talk about it and show gameplay footage whenever someone asks me what i play, but i dont think i have managed to recruit any new players sadly. A co-worker that used to play Planetside 2 said Renegade X looked awesome, she said she was gonna try it but idk if she did. Most of the customers are completely stuck in either Fortnite, PUBG, LOL or CSGO. Those are the games that dominate currently. specifically fortnite, that games playerbase has to have an average age of about 12, its sad how the older players don't realise they are shooting children.
  16. E-sports cafe clerk, i have plenty of time messing around on forums and such but never enough time to actually play anything except the occasional hearthstone match, like 1-2 minutes to help customers between each turn XD. I really just want to fix peoples computers, kinda tired of everything else. too many noobs, too many non-customers refusing to realise just that and constantly starts bitching when i ask them to leave. My faith in humanity has significantly dropped since i started work here.
  17. I have a 12 hour shift today and tommorow. Entertain me with exaggerated anecdotes please.
  18. They can't really play the renegade x game mode, they act like deathmatch bots. Bots don't attack buildings unless its by mistake when targeting another bot/player. Highly suicidal tendencies and prone to go afk in front of terminals, sometimes they leave their vehicles mid field if their pathfinding fails. they all seem to act independently of eachother with the exception of the occasional repair. I think they are better than the old renegade bots, they didnt attack buildings either but these ones at least get vehicles and classes.
  19. In what game isn't the rocket launcher good? (Strife 1996 XD) Frankly im quite used to rockets being instakill even. Definitely a strong and well rounded char for its price, but that reload makes them really weak versus every charachter with consistent damage output. Using Peak-a-boo tactics is playing them right into their hands, just rush them down after they fire their first rocket, easy win for officers. Same goes for snipers and pics/rails, don't wait for them to reload if you need to kill them. I always do go for the rocket soldier + rep gun when i dont have bar/hon, they really are the best option, Very efficient at controlling and supporting field, not so much versus an officer if you ask me.
  20. The common and cheap beers does pretty much all taste the same, all the big brands you see in commercials are about as exciting and diverse as milk. They all taste like liquified and carbonated loafs of bread, meeh. I usually go for the strong indian pale ales which have something of a fruity taste that covers up the yeast and alcohol. Also savory dark monastery beers spiced with weird herbs.
  21. I was somewhat concerned that locking and curving your rockets would open up some new B2B tactic after thinking about it a bit more, but naah. Shooting backwards in order to curve your rockets upwards limits their range significantly, and lining it up perfectly to say... kill Nod infantry on their wall on Walls is not as easy at it sounds without getting rekt in the process. Again, i dont really care wether it stays or goes but so far i dont see any problems with it. Even if it were to go back to the non-locked turret position only, curving the rockets will still be possible, just more awkward. Horologue and Hourglass i think are the only maps where this may be considered a distinct advantage, but removing the lock ability won't really change that.
  22. Not a big fan of locked vehicle combat with both sides just spamming and repairing. Cruise missiles, airstrikes and EMPs can break up such situations as it is, but i dont mind the MLRS being more able to do so. A light tank can absolutely dominate up to 3 unsupported MLRS at the same time, by counterpredicting their firing arches. most player trust the homing rockets to hit but driving towards them in a light tank is pretty much a guaranteed dogde, and those that aim manually usually miss at least 50% of their rockets in such a situation.
  23. Never played C&C online either, loved the campaigns and skirmish options though. Played some C&C generals over LAN, pirated version (cus poor as dirt). If by chance anyone had picked the same CD-KEY as another player out of the ISO file crack folder then all units under the control of that player would self explode within a minute of gameplay, GAME OVER, reinstall... Same deal with Warcraft 3, never liked the online standard game mode gameplay.
  24. This thread probably saved me from going insane at work today, too many customers, had to camp in the kiosk on a high chair for 11 hours with a potato cashier PC that has a 1-3 second input delay on god damn everything.
  25. Not many at all in UT4 anymore, i would roughly estimate there to be about 150-200 players online during EU peak hours, at best. A little less during NA peak hours i believe. We are extremely jealous of Fortnite getting all of Epics love and attention. Quake is certainly doing better in everyway, i have it installed to, stuck to UT4 because the movement allows for more. how hilarious is it that ESC doubles as an autorun in renegade X btw? is that intentional or just a convenient bug i wonder. I was actually really against using TS in any game for years, only really started using it the last 2-3 years. Mostly because i was afraid of sounding like an idiot with broken english, but also because most other players sounded like idiots with broken english, i couldnt hear them over the music anyway which i find essential for maintaining the immersion. But now i really like it, not because of any teamplay advantages really but rather for the jokes and conversations. I make death sounds in my mic when i die and do warcrys when i do brave suicidal stuff, because thats what i do when im not playing with TS, also quote Duke Nukem phrases when appropriate. sounding like an idiot is ok.
