  1. April 22 pug recap: Volcano Nod opted for arties and flamers, but in the end GDI overpowered Nod with meds and mammys. There were some Nod players trying to sneak in, but GDI dedicated defenders denied them. No particular rushes happened during this match Crash Site Vehicle warfare, silo going from Nod to GDI, the usual. Two GDI inflitrators manage to blow up Nod PP and air. After, GDI pushes on with vehicles and Mobiuses, demolishing Nod ref and Hon. Meanwhile, a nuke brings down GDI Ref, and a last daring rocket rush by Nod manages to destroy GDI WF and Bar, but not the PP. Complex Nod spams artys and easily decimates the GDI base. The new surrender system kicks in, and even 10 reps at MCT cannot fend against a volley of heroic arty shells and heroic stank missiles, destroying the GDI Ref before the five minute countdown ends. Team Quincy 2 - Team Jeff 1, 3 matches, about 15 players per team.
  2. Currently GDI Mobius, McFarland, and Patch would theoretically win against their Nod counterparts if both player's skill set are about the same. For Nod, SBH and Flame Trooper would win against their GDI counterparts, Gunner and Grenadier. (LCG > Gunner, Patch > SBH if you consider the counterparts to be reversed). No need for buff; Mobius is already the strongest infantry in the game; he surpasses Doza by just a bit.
  3. 33,333 downloads sounds better and it is faster to type out.
  4. And that's you highlighted the best action-packed moments of the match. That's understandable, anyone judging not purely on graphics would quickly grasp the boredom of a public match without teamwork, or generally watching the player running or driving around. Fair enough. This answer will suffice for my question. As for your last point, I was merely making an observation. I did not mean to criticize your opinions. (i.e. I never said that I do not approve or that it is a bad thing) I apologize if you took offense from my statement.
  5. You promote Ren X by posting gameplay on YouTube, yet you bash on Ren X with some of your in-game statements. Quite peculiar I must say. Reminds me of that "Zeroclass" dude who kept complaining how Ren X sucks and yet they still kept playing the game... because "they could". I really don't get these kind of people. If it is supposed to be a joke, it is not funny in my book.
  6. The short version: Go play skirmish mode with the bots. You can easily remove them if you think they are cheating. The shortest version: uninstall and quit the game. The long version: Step 1 - start by going through these questions first: Step 2 - Provide compelling and detailed evidence (like a full-fledged recording, a screenshot of K/D ratio is not enough.) If you fabricate evidence against the cheater, you will probably get banned instead (suffice to say that admins/mods have a way to evaluate the validity of the evidence). Step 3 - Contact an admin and moderator via pm and send them your evidence. Step 4 - Await for their response. You will need 100% accurate and honest evidence showing that the player is cheating, otherwise they will probably give the benefit of doubt.
  7. Egocentrism strikes again, dun-dun. Also note how his username was probably typed in a haste: he probably typed the letters g, h, j, k, in rapid succession, considering how a conventional QWERTY keyboard has the aforementioned letters located in close proximity with each other. Of course, judging someone by the username is anything but an efficient way to understand the person, but from the username, I can imply that this person wanted to get his message out fast, just like if he was raging. Pertaining to the subject, there are also people bashing out Ren X in the comment of LavaDragon's first Moments vid (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=loLfBvheOWY). One of them states that admin/mods will abuse their powers when they are losing. Of course, without any kind of proof, those statements hold no validity whatsoever. Only time admins would use their powers is to nuke everyone when the current match has ENDED, or nuke each other (for examples, the occasional nukes on UKill, for reasons unknown to me). Never seen the admins abuse their powers on the playerbase. And I am certainly not one of their favorites. Alas, people accusing of cheating/hacking are nothing new. The best course of advice would be to ignore the person in question unless they back up their words with reasonable evidence. I guess those kind of people are mainly driven by jealousy or rage. Tried of getting headshotted 24/7? Drive a vehicle, or become a dedicated defender. Lastly, I also offer some "emotional well-being" advice on the wiki: Considering how this situation reoccurs quite frequently, I might also add that "going berserk will probably also result in you either wasting time in accusing the sniper of being a cheater, or rage quitting the game and accusing the sniper of being a cheater on the forums".
  8. In certain occasions there is no time to type to your teamates or to drive back to your base. If you have to quit the game, you can always: (Assuming that you are a tech/engi) Lob Remotes on your vehicle and blow it up (and yourself as well, so enemy team won't get veterancy for killing an AFK person); if the vehicle has more than 400 health, just lob timed and exit the vehicle. In this way, only allies will be able to obtain it without having the vehicle blowing up. Enemies who steal the vehicle will probably not notice the timed c4 and lose the stolen vehicle. Another option is; If you are at the edges of the map, and if they are soft edges, drive out of boundaries and suicide yourself and your vehicle.
  9. I personally liked it. Believe me or not, it was the first Command and Conquer game I ever played (played for around 100 hours; and yes, I discovered the series only around 2011). I do agree that if one overlooks the xp/level system, and the CnC label, 5vs5 matches can be pretty entertaining.... and hectic.
  10. Some statistics. It assumes that both players are Recruit rank and are shooting standing still and facing each other; does not account projectile speed. Assuming Doza is using Flechette mode (primary fire): *15 hits to kill Patch with 175 armor (if the body is fully struck); *8 hits to kill Patch with 175 armor with headshots; Patch's Tac Rifle: *27 hits to kill Doza with 225 armor (if the body is fully struck); *11 hits to kill Doza with 225 armor with headshots; *17 hits to kill Doza with 125 armor after alt grenade (if the body is fully struck); *4 hits to kill Doza with 25 armor after alt grenade headshot and followed by more headshots; Assuming both hit each other bodies with primary fire and without missing: *Patch kills Doza in 0.14 x 27 = 3.78 seconds. *Doza kills Patch in 0.12 x 15 = 1.80 seconds. If they are both headshotting each other with primary fire: *Patch kills Doza in 0.14 x 11 = 1.54 seconds. *Doza kills Patch in 0.12 x 8 = 0.96 seconds. If Patch lobs the grenade and fully hit Doza first *Patch kills Doza in 0.14 x 17 = 2.38 seconds. If Patch lobs the grenade and fully headshot Doza first, and kept headshotting with his gun: *Patch kills Doza in 0.14 x 4 = 0.56 seconds. Assuming both players possess the same skills, Mendoza would win since he needs about the half amount of time and less rounds to take down Patch, unless he gets headshotted by Patch's grenade (which is quite hard if both players are strafing around). @Quincy wrote that long time ago (yep, there are other people besides me on the wiki). But yes, "struggle" does not mean "lose". It means that Doza has more chances of being gunned down by Patch compared to, let's say, Gunner. Go to the "weapons" section to find out some information about the characters' weapons. Alas, the wiki does not have all the information. I cannot get every bit of data unless I dig deep into the SDK or the GitHub gets updated.
  11. If you ask me, I would switch the Mammy's rockets with the big rocket model (MRLS, Orca, Rocket Soldier, Stank...), reduce the clip to 2 (4 when Heroic rank), and make the rocket itself hitting hard and wide as a MRLS one (fire rate, lock on, reload can stay the same, travel speed reduced). They would not be OP against air, since the rocket speed will be slower and thus easier to evade. Pretty much like original Renegade with the exception that you can still fire both cannons and rockets at the same time. However, I recognize that there would be visual problems, seeing how the Mammy has a small six-rocket pack launcher on each side of the main turret.
  12. Sorry, can't do that, because of Wiki etiquette. You have either to type "user:Jarzey (or someone else, like user:Agent or user:Zephyr, to mention a couple of examples)" in the search box, or click on "special pages" on the left side and then click on "user list". But there is nothing much on people's userpages. I use mine as a sort of notebook to dump any kind of into and stats.
  13. You forgot to mention the improvement of clip/magazine size for weapons (and some vehicles). @Xtractor: I have compiled a table reflecting the veterancy bonuses in Armor and Clip/Magazine if you are looking for numbers (it doesn't show data such as damage output, rate of fire, movement speed). https://renx.wiki/wiki/User:Jarzey#Veterancy_bonus_table (Leaving this just in case: Clip = the amount of rounds you can fire before reloading / Magazine = the amount of rounds you can fire before you need to go back and refill at PTs. Weapons on vehicles have infinite magazine).
  14. pug recap Jan 21, 2017: Field Vehicle warfare and infantry clashes in tunnels. Both tunnel rocks got demolished, yet no one managed to sneak in anywhere. In the end GDI kept control of the tech buildings and field. Nod tried a stank rush at the last minute, doing perma but not destroying any building. GDI retaliates by rushing all their vehs head on, flattening the entire Nod base except Airstrip. With no chances of recovering, Nod surrenders. Walls Vehicles and infantry fight for the control of the plateau for most of the time. GDI leads a tranny rush, but it gets intercepted and taken care of. Nod replies with a stank rush which takes down GDI ref. Still, GDI manages to keep their cool, especially with a steady income coming from MRLS pointwhoring the Hon. After a long time, GDI players reached Elite rank and rocket rushed the Nod PP and Ref afterwards, destroying them both. With no income and gradually losing field control, Nod decides to surrender. 2 matches, Team Freak vs Team Jeff, 1 - 1, about 15 players per team.
  15. You should read the posts in the topic before starting to ask questions that have been already answered, just saying. In fact, CoreDefender stated the answer twice in this topic:
  16. Sat Jan 14 pug recap: LakesideNF Quick infantry rush by Nod takes out Bar. After some vehicle warfare, Nod keeps control of Comms and hill and pounds the GDI base. Stank rush moves in and gets WF, and GDI, with only Ref, surrenders afterwards. Tomb The usual. Nod first rushes fail, GDI takes field control, masses meds and pushes out with a two-pronged attack; Ref, Air and Hon are downed by the meds. Nod tried an arty rush to GDI ref, but it was denied by the defenders. With only PP standing, Nod promptly surrendered. Fort A long and boring match, most of the players agree. GDI tanks destroy Nod Ref, and an infiltrator brings down WF. After than, nothing happens in particular; tank warfare, failed rushes, denied infiltrators, etc... finally, near the 50 min mark, an Ion brings down Air, especially when Nod players were elsewhere, and an APC + ion rush follows up, demolishing Hon and ending the boring match. 3 matches, Team Jeff vs Team Thommy, 2 - 1, about 12~14 players on each team per match.
  17. Why not? Rocket Soldier, and Engi/Adv Engi all have alternate fire, and each faction has access to them. Mobi and Doza both have alt fire as well. Nod's unique weapons (sprayers and lasers) are simple and good enough to get the job done. Also, while they do less base damage to infantry, they ignore all kinds of armor damage reduction - no need to worry about Kelvar or flak, and they are effective against vehicles as well. GDI has more alt fire because.... they love grenades: McFarland, Patch, Grenadier all lob grenades (McFarland is more of an explosive slug but still thrown as a grenade, Patch is actually alt fire mode, which is similar, and Grenadier's nades bounce when fired with alt fire) with their alternate fire. On a serious note, their alt fire helps them to do more damage on vehicles and break infantry with Kevlar armor. Unless you really want Flame Troopers to alternate fire fireballs like RA 1 ones, Chems to fire corrosive tib spheres similar to Desolators in RA 3, and SBH + LCG firing a continuous laser beam by holding alt fire akin to UT''s link gun... but this would break up balance and put more unnecessary work on Yosh's shoulders.
  18. Should be posted on the CT forums as well. Edit: I did it already.
  19. Egocentrism is certainly one of them. Certain players (often spoiled teenagers) believe that they are the best, so they will always blame defeat on the team or something else; some will also complain about getting killed and throw hackaccusations at snipers. Others are also attention whores and want to be acknowledged by the players, so they start saying irrelevant stuff and doing stupid surveys. Egocentric people also have a tendency to be stubborn too.
  20. PUG recap: Volcano Early rush gets GDI ref, early grenade rush fails to get Nod ref. With no money to get meds, GDI base get destroyed by flamers and artys. Islands Nod arty rush fails, GDI takes control of field and med rushes, destroying ref and air. A Sydney assisted in taking down Hon. Walls GDI loses harv, Nod saves Apaches. After getting plateau, Apache rush + sbh nukes destroys GDI base, leaving only 1 building standing. With no chance of retaliation, GDI surrenders. Mesa A cliche. Nod Artys take control of hill and shell GDI base to oblivion. Flame tanks close in for the kill. Whiteout After a small skirmish, GDI takes the hill: meds, MRLS, snipers siege Nod's base and destroy Air. Then the match just ended. 5 matches, ~18 players per team, 3 - 2 for Team Yosh.
  21. There is a reason why most games tend to have health bars instead of health numbers: it is easier to understand at a quick glance than numbers only. Same applies on the squares displaying infantry stats; they are easy to grasp. If you want more detailed info, just visit either the wiki, GitHub repo, or the SDK.
  22. Odoacer (my brother, after reading the quote above) "Jarzey is a little immature adult with low self-esteem and he thinks he grows by writing articles on the RenX wiki when knowing that little to no one will bother to read them." Sorry, he couldn't resist it.
  23. pub matches: Lone wolf: tanker, sniper, repairmen, spray n pray, or infiltrator; the role varies mostly depending on my mood. PUG matches: Base camper, mining and defending.
  24. Quitting a shitty but essential job? Bad, it is always better being safe than sorry. Especially considering that people are not particularly excited to volunteer for boredom. You gotta have the right attitude to actively defend and not get distracted or undermined by boredom, as not everyone plays RenX to ultimately defend. Camping is indeed a chore rather than fun, but if I want fun, I can just go and mess around in public matches. Let me do the camping next time I get the chance to play pugs (quite busy irl atm); in the spare time I had, I have developed some new mining tactics that should facilitate defense. I will just need you (or any commander) to vouch for me because people tend to yell at me when I mine. Only because you see a large presence of hotties/techs in base doesn't mean that you can dawdle off, does it? They probably left base after they purchased and fetched their vehicles. At least, you could have asked if someone else was willing to relocate themselves to camping duty before leaving.
  25. My two cents on how the SAMs should get buffed. -Increase projectile speed to 4000; -Decrease reload time to 3.5; -Increase range to 8000 (same as AGT rocket); -Double the damage radius to 600. Increasing damage to 75x2 sounds fine. I presume that before that damage buff they did 20x2 damage, based on this comment found in the GitHub repo....
