  1. Hey AshbyJones,

     

    Yes, City will still be remade for Renegade X! I've made some good progress on the map, I can safely say it is the best version ever created. We've even had a first playtest a while back which turned out great with a lot of positive reactions. However due to the fact we're all dedicated to Firestorm right now, barely any progress is being made as we speak. Hopefully when we get closer to launch, there will be some more space to jump back into development of this map. The foundation is there, even some decoration has already been done. Here's a peek we released a while back 😉

  2. We're still working very hard on Firestorm to have it released as of early next year. The reason you don't hear anything new is because we're busy working on the game for the best experience. Plus we're a small scale team of volunteers that do this in their spare time, so there will be times we're less productive than usual. Firestorm Asault - something we announced at the beginning of the year - will be released post-launch. Instead we are working on a simplified version of the Command & Conquer Conquest game mode we've showcased a lot during our DevTalks. Furthermore I can say is stay tuned for more details that will be coming sooner or later.

    Patch 5.65.380 brings us another handful of bug fixes that occurred in a previous patches, adjustments to our code and a handful of map fixes. Check them out below!

    • Added a potential area volume fix for vehicles being able to glitch out of the soft boundary volumes
    • Added a partial fix for the back weapon attachments not appearing
    • Added a fallback function for moving the camera to your own base instead of wherever you last had your spectator / pre-game camera
    • Fixed an incorrect announcement being made for the Harvester when taking damage after it spawned
    • Fixed the Guard Tower projectiles not giving any damage
    • Fixed being able to zoom in too far when aiming down the sight
    • Fixed being able to go in ADS mode when you're not suppose to (For example when inactive or putting down the weapon)
    • Fixed the Stealth Black Hand cloaking while deploying an airstrike
    • Fixed the Remote C4 charges not taking any damage when they were deployed
    • Reverted the over-adjustment on headshot multipliers
    • Patch 5.65.381 Hot-Fix: Fixed the Pick-Up Crate types not using the configuration that lead to everyone getting special crates (spies, EPIC units etc.)

    • Rewrote some functions regarding to team switching / assignment, in-game donations, kick voting and crate pickups

    • EVA / CABAL announcer:
      • When you capture Silo, it will no longer tell you that you aquired new technology
    • Corrected the GDI buildings having a Nod floor when they're in their destroyed state

    • Cliff Side:
      • Fixed some rocks glitching in and out at the Nod side of the middle bridge
    • Crash Site:
      • Fixed vehicles getting launched up in the air on the outer vehicle route
      • Adjusted the ambient lighting on some foliage to get shadowed properly
      • Adjusted the post-processing to fix the map having a real strong contrast
    • Eyes
      • Fixed being able to base-2-base all the way from the GDI base to the Power Plant
    • Islands:
      • Adjusted some draw call values on the tunnel lights and palm trees
    • Reservoir:
      • Prevented Nod from being able to fire with an Artillery over the cover wall on their side of the dam, allowing them to secure their entrance a lot better
      • Fixed being able to bypass some invisible walls at the Guard Tower
    • Steppe:
      • Fixed a rock turning invisible when switching to low graphic settings
    • Walls:
      • Added a new minimap that is more detailed
    • Tomb:
      • Improved the tomb interior lighting drastically
      • Fixed some normal map textures not being set up correctly
      • Fixed grenades falling through the ground around the Power Plant
    • Toxicity:
      • Fixed multiple Base-2-Base issues
      • Fixed the night vision scopes being useless due to the high intensity
      • Modified the GDI and Nod base fortifications
      • Swapped the locations of the Adv. Guard Tower and Silo
      • Added additional obstacles to both the GDI and Nod Tiberium Field
      • Updated the minimap
    • Under:
      • Fixed being able to bypass some invisible walls at the Nod pipeline area
    • Xmountain:
      • Fixed being able to climb on some rocks at the Nod side of the upper path

    This hotfix patch resolves a bunch of issues discovered over the last 24 hours, all patch notes for any further updates (including yesterday's patch notes) are below.

     

    Over the past months, we've seen unexpected bugs and glitches occurring in patches that we weren't aware of before launch. Some of these have been in the game for a longer period of time while they were unintended. With the release of Patch 5.64a.312, we've solved a number of these issues that were most critical and were in need of a fix. With that, we've also included some minor balance changes and additional map fixes.

    • Fixed a bug where the Nuke crate would not damage infantry
    • Fixed a bug where you wouldn't switch to a different weapon once you used your C4 or grenade
    • Fixed a bug where Nod would not receive VP from building rewards in certain cases
    • Fixed a bug where the Repair Gun beam would go through certain walls in 3rd person mode
    • Fixed a bug where players would get kicked incorrectly for "ghost client"

      • Added a spread penalty while moving

    • Fixed a bug where weapon attachments would spawn inside of the character mesh instead of their designated holsters
    • Fixed a bug where wheel particles effects continued to play while there was no driver
    • Fixed a bug where a white dot would remain when aiming down the sight
    • Fixed a bug where "{TEXT}" was visible when spotting commander abilities (Spy Plane f.e.)

      • Fixed a bug where a material was missing from the bridge near the waterfall

      • Aligned collision with the visuals of the landscape to prevent bullets from colliding with air

    Patch 5.61.245 mainly addresses some of the issues from previous patches. Over the past weeks, we've been replicating the so called particle bug and we were succesfully in finding the cause of it. And now, we can officially announce that the particle bug has been pruned.

    We're also including in this build a potential fix for the sound bug in hope that might be fixed aswell. Check it out!

    • Fixed the well-known issue with the particle effects a.k.a The Particle Bug
    • Experimental: Added a potential fix for the sound bug on 64-bit clients [Edit - Didn't make it into the patch, will appear next patch]
    • EMP Grenades should no longer affect friendlies at all
    • Bounty penalty should now work regardless of whether the player has a bounty rank or not
    • Picking up the same weapon from crates more than once should now refill it instead of merely switching to it
    • Fixed not being able to reload while sprinting

    • You can no longer Q-spot yourself

    Unfortunately we're not planning on porting Renegade X to consoles in the near future. Renegade X will remain a PC exclusive. Maybe in the future we can consider this question again when we do the engine swap to Unreal Engine 5

    That is an great question that everyone wants to know hehe😉 We're still aiming for a 2021 release, currently we're slowly exiting Phase 5 Testing. The big summer break is coming up very soon and we hope to be very productive in those weeks to speed up our process.

    As Agent said in her reply above, we cannot promise a 2021 deadline. That is why there is no specific date. Our internal alpha testers are giving us very good feedback and we hope we can set a feature lock after the summer break. From then on it's refining the gameplay, polishing the visuals and implementing the art that is in progress. We hope we can share more with the public soon :D

  9. It would be cool if we could turn Renegade X into 'Command & Conquer: Renegade Remastered' when we do the engine swap to UE4 / UE5. I don't see a sequel happening unfortunately

    A couple days ago I announced in my Valley post that there would be another (unreleased) map coming out soon. And soon is today! I'm pleased to announce that CNC-Ash is finally available to play in Skirmish with just one single click on the download button. After we scrapped Valley from the base game, it was obvious that Ash would never make the official rotation. So after catching dust for too long, we've finally decided to share this with the community instead of keeping it internally. The community are our fans and they deserve to see stuff we've never shared before. With that being said, I have only one thing to see and that is:

  11. CNC-Ash [Infantry Only Map]

    CNC-Ash, one of Renegade X' unreleased official maps finally seeing the light of day! Similair to CNC-Valley, this map only features a Power Plant and Barracks / Hand of Nod. It also features 4 capturable Silo's, 2 of them pre-captured in the bases. The side entrances of the base are covered by energy shields, so you're pretty safe behind those. Also be careful not to fall into the Tiberium water, located in the middle of the two bases.

    Yes, it is finally back! We're pleased to re-introduce you to CNC-Valley, the return of the infantry battles. The reason why we took the map out of the base game is because we figured out infantry only map weren't as successful as in OG Renegade. Yet, there was still love for this map and that's why we decided to make this map available for download here on our website.

    Nothing has changed since the last time you've played. We've respected the design of the map how it is.  I hope with the release on the download page, we've given this map some justice for being available for the community. Also, stay tuned because there is another unreleased map coming out really soon on our website.

    What was once a part of the base game, is now available for download! We're re-introducing you to the beautiful nature of CNC-Valley. Capture the Silo's that are spread across the map for an income boost and grab yourself your favourite infantry unit for some intense infantry battles.
